I hope I get Mike!At YC, yes, the cordials were self serve just not beers and wines. Only Mike was “fun” and seemed happy to get people a glass of wine in their vacation![]()

I was able to pour my own Kahula and Cream at YC last May. I do think the wine and beer was served v.s. pour/grab your own. The time before that we were at the BWI and I recall refilling my own Riesling glass..many times. I hope I'm not gonna be made to feel like a lush when I go back to the YC CM many times next month for a wine refill.....................
That sounds so much like the YC guy. We would catch him just glaring at us whenever we saw him. So weird.I encountered a rather rude wine-pouring CM at the GF SL a little over a year ago. I approached the wines. He stood there, kind of glaring at me. I waited, assuming he would ay something at least a little bit friendly (like “hello”). He didn’t. He just kept glaring. I finally said I’d like a white wine, to which he responded, “which one? There are a few.” Hmmmm...I told him it would make it easier for me if I knew what my choices were. He gestured to the bottles in front of himself.I quickly chose one and went on to enjoy my night. Even my DD (who was 7 at the time) perceived the interaction as being very weird. Luckily he was only there that one night of our stay.

My last stay there was also September 2018. You might have encountered this CM yourself! This sort of describes most of my CM interactions at GF SL, alcohol or not.
I kid, I kid.... mostly.
(In fairness, last stay was Sept 2018)
We just got back from the contemporary - 14th floor club level. The food was fantastic and the staff was amazing!! The dinner and dessert came from the California grill right above us.
SL has some real grumps over there, thankfully the ladies pouring during both of my summer stays were happy to help and joked around with everyone coming up for a drink. I think some CMs are meant for that job, and others only put up with doing it when they're forced, sounds like this guy was the latter of the two.I encountered a rather rude wine-pouring CM at the GF SL a little over a year ago. Well I stayed there twice this summer, first time was absolutely horrendous with horrible service. When I spoke up after the next visit was suddenly magically better -_- .This sort of describes most of my CM interactions at GF SL, alcohol or not.

WL's only pour for you that I've experience was the tapped beer. Rest was self service. Granted I haven't been since New Years this year.
Beer was the only think at AKL that we drank and it was always served sans cap. Trying to recall the last time I was there, it was 2017 I think. So it could have changed too
Doesn't really matter the split though, I don't like it and will avoid those that do it. For that reason alone. If they all start, well then, that is easier for me to accept. It's the will they won't that that annoys me. Because I don't see the reason
I was there in July and August and both times the girl serving drinks was awesome. I have to say, if I had to choose what job to have at the lounge I would totally pick pouring drinks, it looked a lot more fun than clearing tables and filling food.I completely agree with this. I was disappointed with some of the CM’s at SL, however, the drink server was lovely. This particular CM always greeted us with a smile, chatted with us when we came up to her for drinks, and multiple times came over to me and asked if I’d like a refill! This was back in July.
Well now I have to stay here, it looks amazing (not that I don't want to stay CL there, I just don't have any family that wants to stay at CR.....looks like another CL solo trip for meIt’s a small lounge but it was never full. The CMs said that there are only 16 rooms on the 14th floor with access to this lounge.
Mmm. You had the same desserts as we did on the 12th floor. I'm still kind of craving those chocolate shot thingies. Here are some pics from the 14th floor contemporary club lounge.
The sushi plate that the nice CM saved for me and 2 dessert plates from different nights...

I used to avoid the contemporary... we stayed at the GF and Poly a lot when the kids were little and then started staying at the BC and Boardwalk so we could walk to/from the F&W fest and Osborne light show.Well now I have to stay here, it looks amazing (not that I don't want to stay CL there, I just don't have any family that wants to stay at CR.....looks like another CL solo trip for me)

It all changed in 2012 when hurricane sandy hit us in NJ. Our 2 day Halloween trip turned into a 2 week trip since we lost power back home and schools were closed...
We had been staying at the boardwalk but had to move since they were fully booked. Just about all of the rooms in all of wdw were booked - but then they found us a room at the contemporary. Although we had never wanted to stay there since the themeing seemed dull, we were glad to have a room.
We were so pleasantly surprised with the contemporary! The views of the magic kingdom so close to us were amazing. It makes me feel like we’re staying right in the MK! Once we realized how quick and easy it was to walk to the mk and that Cali grill takes walk-ins in the lounge, we never looked back!
I highly recommend the contemporary!!![]()

Disney sprinkled some major pixie dust on us this trip!Mmm. You had the same desserts as we did on the 12th floor. I'm still kind of craving those chocolate shot thingies.
14th floor is on my CL bucket list, but we've never been able to get a room at a price we were willing to pay.![]()
