Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

You clearly have not been for evening appetizers
Sorry, I'm going to defend BabybetterDisney on this subject!

Try reading what I JUST posted.

Just because you haven't personally had a specific experience, doesn't mean someone else didn't have that experience.

On my most recent CL stay, two people could have visited the CL on the same day, just minutes apart, and been offered COMPLETELY DIFFERENT dessert options!

Truly, this is WHY we post here: to share our experiences.

What? I'm talking about evening appetizers, not desserts. They don't have just chips and veggies out for evening appetizers. Period.

CL Food offerings vary.

It doesn't matter if we are talking about dessert, appetizers, drinks, or even the produce offered. They change between different CL's, different years, week to week, and sometimes minute to minute.

that's all.

All the CL's have stepped up their game in food offerings vs how it sometimes was years ago.
Most recent CL guests have been pleasantly surprised at the very positive change.

For my family, cl apps do not replace a meal. My family likes to eat. The apps are a snack for them. My husband likes something substantial for dinner. He doesn't even like qs dinners. I could probably make due with the apps for a few nights but it would leave my family wanting more. I think it just depends on your appetites and how you are used to eating. The apps also vary in the offerings, some nights they are more substantial then others.

I don’t make a lot of dinner reservations anymore, I think evening offerings are as good if not better than they’ve ever been, (oh some places things have been the same for YEARS) I like to do our favorite spots around lunch anymore.

It’s nice to get freshened up and filled up before heading out or sometimes even chillin around the resorts in the evening.

Truly, I left the DISboards for about 6 months because a poster got VERY nasty with me (VERY QUCKLY) over the subject of CL food offerings!

Was this me? Every once in a while the CL board starts debating whether or not the apps in the lounge can be 'a meal'. It's a meal for some, not for others. But I find it tiresome when people proclaim 'It's not a meal'. I think I pointed out that a 1 x 1 inch cube of cheese has 100 calories. I've seen people come in, grab a cube of cheese and run, and others sit down and chat for hours. I leave and come back and they're still there. No one is telling them they can't do that.

Is it a meal? YMMV :wizard:

We are staying 4 night in a standard view CL room at the BW in June. Is it correct that Boardwalk views are back to by request (or chance) in this category? I know at one point it was a bookable option, but now I don't see that but also don't see the description of boardwalk view under the standard room either.

Does anyone know where on the map the door to the Innkeepers lounge is? Like on the touringplans room map, where the cutoff would be so the rooms past it are behind the door and prior to it are outside the door (room numbers the door is between)? I swear I saw a map like this somewhere on here a long time ago, but am not sure. I am thinking of requesting Boardwalk View inside the Innkeepers Club doors, but wondered how many rooms that actually includes to see how likely that would even be. If not many are inside the doors maybe I'll just leave it at Boardwalk view, unless someone thinks something else would be better for reasons I might not be thinking of?

I wasn't sure if I should psot this here or on the BW thread, I thought I would start here and try there if needed.

I hesitate to get involved, but I'll just quickly let people know that for my family the CL apps are plenty to be a meal! we aren't huge eaters, but I also certainly don't diet when at WDW ;) There are always 1-2 hot apps, often served from a dish that looks like it could be a main dish at a family dinner. Usually a plated small app or 2, from 1-3 or so cold salads, plus veggies, cheese, crackers, etc, and the kids options. I know if I take some of everything I am too full to make an ADR after it, and it would ruin my kids appetite and the money we spent on the ADR would be wasted. We tend to either do the 5-7 apps or an ADR that night, not both. It is different at every CL, we have stayed at all but the BWI and AKL, but they have all had enough food to satisfy us for dinner. Heck, I could live on the mac n cheese alone that they had at the YC and CR :D. A serving or 2 of that plus a little of most everything else and I'm too stuffed to enjoy myself! (ask me how I know :P).

Hi, a BW view is by request only these days. Here’s a crudely drawn map of the floor. Most of the CL rooms are ‘behind the door’ but some extend out down the hall towards the elevator. That room in red was our room last Feb and I think the CL door labels stopped a door or two past us, if heading towards the elevator). Hope that helps.

Thanks, I think that must be the drawing/map I remembered seeing somewhere! Can I ask, did you find being outside the door to make any difference to your stay, or if you felt like you were less in a CL room, if that makes any sense? Would you prefer BW view outside the door, or garden view inside the door (if those were your choices haha)?

ETA we had one of the first 3 rooms facing the village green as a spectacular Standard View room the only other time we have stayed at the BWI, so I always figured a BW view would be best, but have nothing else to compare it to.

If I'm counting correctly, there are 8 regular CL rooms with BW view inside the CL door. That's not a lot of rooms. I would let them know which one is your priority.

It’s funny, after reading for years about the importance of being ‘behind the door’ that was our only request... which of course wasn’t met. But after being there, I'm not sure I personally consider it to be a big deal. I guess in some ways, yes, it would have been nicer to pass the CL CM desk in our comings/goings for the occasional pleasantries, but that's pretty minor overall. I would have liked to have been a bit closer to the lounge, but our room really wasn't 'that far' in the first place, so again pretty minor. We were close to the elevator, which made for quicker trips down to Bell Vue and for overall daily travel, so that was a plus. :-)

Other than that, I'll defer to the more experienced BWI CL folks for their comments on room location. Hope that helps!

We are staying In a deluxe room at BWI and I think these rooms are on 2 floors. My question is do these rooms have the water view.

DW had a Deluxe Room at BWI on the third floor (not the CL floor) a couple of years ago. This was her view below. I believe the Deluxe Rooms all have generally similar views (someone correct me if I’m wrong in that statement). The Deluxe Room balconies on the third floor are slightly larger than those on the fourth floor.

Wow. Beautiful picture. I’m really looking forward to staying there.

Awesome views, I can hardly wait now. We are actually doing a split stay. First 3 days are at CTR with a garden wing. Then 6 nites at BWI with a deluxe room, then 4 nites at GF with RPC. The RPC room is a surprise for my sister. I thought about changing the CTR to club level but can’t seem to take the plunge. This will be are first stay at both CTR and BWI. Been planning this trip for 2 years. Can’t believe it it almost here. Someone please pinch me. LOL!
