Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

AKL and CR CLs are on my list to try (trying YC CL for the first time in June). While YC CL never really appealed to me, after reading recent reviews and seeing pics of the refurbed rooms/lounge, I'm looking forward to trying it :).
AKL Club is our fave :-) Trying SL at GF for the first time this year.

I'm hoping SL lives up to expectations. Flying over in First Class too - Splashing out for the wifes big 50th birthday...
For SL sometimes I make my own magic.

I will take a try out on my balcony with breakfast or afternoon scones, evening dessert etc.

I will stroll the grounds with a wine or sit outside on a bench and enjoy a nice day.

I do walk with my wine over to the main lobby and listen to the band/piano.

Last, the location for the courtyard pool is great. In and out for snacks, water, drinks etc is easy peasy.

I find it is what we make of it. The lounge is small ish but the food is the same as RPC. Don't forget the rolling tray under the desk. That makes a nice table in the room or even in front of the glass door if it is chilly. I love to sit and just enjoy the palm trees swaying and happy people walking.

Which resorts have you NOT stayed CL but would like to?
We've tried all of them, but haven't been to BWI in quite a while.

A while back Coronado Springs had a mini-CL. It included breakfast, but only drinks and minimal snacks the rest of the day (no hot appetizers/desserts). We really liked it though, because we like the décor of CSR.

I'm eager to try the new CSR CR when it opens, as it will be brand new! The rest of the resort isn't brand new, but the CL will be.

Beware- you may never go back to coach again. :)

This is what I'm afraid of! H just qualified for a new "status" in his airline's frequent flyer program (he travels often for work), so we just got a first class upgrade for our return flight on his 49th birthday trip at the end of this month. We're on the waitlist to get the same upgrade on the way there...and I'm very glad it's that leg that's not guaranteed because I'm worried I'd be disappointed on the way back without the same upgrade, lol. I've only ever experienced a first class upgrade once before and it was a very short flight, so I didn't really get the full experience. But my in-laws are retired teachers, and they got the bump once and have never gone back, even on their fixed income. They don't travel often (maybe once a year), but they say that when they do they like to enjoy it. :)

We've done BWI, BC, WL, and GF RPC before, and have upcoming CL trips booked for CR and GF SL. I would really love to try both the Poly and AKL on theme park "lite" trips, as others have suggested. :)

We have fallen into that First Class trap too. Four years ago we could upgrade our tickets from economy comfort to first class for $59/ticket. Of course we did it. Now we can’t go back........kind of like splurging one year for club level........14 years later still staying club level at the Boardwalk. We always tell ourselves it is the only thing we do that is big during the year lol.

Exactly this!!
We like to take a glass of wine or beer out by Gasparilla Grill and watch HEA from there. So convenient to run back in and get another! :drinking1

Which resorts have you NOT stayed CL but would like to? We've stayed Beach Club and Grand Floridian SL so far. We are going back to Beach Club in May and trying the Wilderness Lodge for one night for the first time. The WL is my dream resort so I'm super excited! The other resort that I'd love to stay CL is Animal Kingdom. After that, any other resort would be nice but there aren't any that I'm dying to try.
ToyStory3 I am trying to decide between Beach Club CL and Grand Floridian SL. They are the same price for my dates. Which did you like better? Going in February so swimming is hit or miss and both are convenient to the parks for our plans.

I had status with an airline for a year and got some good upgrades, but hated it when I didn't. So now I just look for the lowest fares and when my FF points build up, I use them. Meanwhile, I charge everything I buy on my Chase Sapphire which gives me a 25% bonus on the points. I probably eke out about 3 domestic first class tickets a year this way. I always have a connection so it's a long day and I appreciate the amenities beyond a better seat & free drinks- early boarding, dedicated TSA & ticket counter lines, luggage first off the plane. Traveling is pleasant again, instead of a struggle.

Airlines are opening up more premium seats, so I think a lot of people must feel the same way I do. :)

Yes! We just got this card in October and are so impressed with the benefits, including the 25% bonus and the ability to transfer points to airlines. Absolutely fantastic card, and I wish we had discovered it sooner, though that's a whole other topic, lol. H and I weren't raised in families that really used CCs or flew often, so only in our 40s now that we aren't busy every second (feels like!) with our D have we had the time to research and discover the wonders of CC points and frequent flyer miles. Oh how I wish we had known this stuff 10 years ago!

I keep hearing about that card. Do you know if you can transfer points to JetBlue?

these sort of tie in with our plans. we have no park tickets, just 2 whole days in SL to relax, before moving to AKL CL and hitting the parks hard for best part of two weeks, subject to shopping trips and visiting the Orlando Cat Cafe. We miss our fur babies too much, so have to go get kitty cuddles elsewhere :-)

The countdown is on! 29 more days!

My flight gets in at 8:30 am and I should be arriving to the Yacht Club by 10am

I'll have some carry on luggage and if our room isn't ready when I arrive, do I store it with bell services or will the concierge have a place to store it?

Just trying to mentally prepare my arrival day to make it as least hectic as possible!

We normally get in early as well. Unless I’ve recieved the room ready text already (usually haven’t at that point), we’ll store our bags at bell services out front before heading in to check-in. Whenever we get our room later, I just call and have the bags brought up (need to be in the room for this).

The CL CMs don’t have a place to store bags.

Hope that helps, and hope you have a great trip.
