Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

GADisneyDad14, thank you So much for the review and photos!! We check in this weekend for our first CL stay and first time at BWI. Everything you posted is so helpful. I have a question - Is the lounge locked during the off hours? So, no coffee before 7am, does that mean the lounge is locked before 7am? What about between 10:30 & 11:30 / 4:00 & 5:00 / 7:00 & 8:00? Is the lounge locked between the service times, if not, is it staffed at all? I keep hearing wine/beer is available on request when not out for the 5-7 food service, but what about during these windows? TIA, can't wait to get there!
I requested wine around 4;15 pm in November . Doors were not locked and people were just relaxing while the cms were cleaning up for the 5pm appies.

I have stayed at all but yc and at all cl's I was able to request coffee or wine when doors closed (wl ,bc for exapmple) or in between services.

We are back from our first Poly CL stay. Wanted to share some thoughts while fresh in my mind before getting back into my work world tomorrow morning. We have stayed CL at all Epcot resorts, WL and CR and have seen various levels of service, check in and lounge options and have to say we were thoroughly impressed with our stay at the Poly.

Arrival - we arrived via Magical Express around 8:45am and checked in at the main building and the cast member, after giving us Aloha leis, walked us to the Hawaii building to complete check in. Our room was not ready (and we did not expect it to be with the early arrival). We went to the lounge and found a seat with a view of the castle near the windows of the lounge and enjoyed coffee, croissants, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, turkey lunch meat, orange juice, raspberries, pineapple and cantaloupe (this was spread across 3 of us, not what I ate. :-) ). We took a few croissants and bananas to go to have for sustenance before the Princess 10K on Saturday.

Besides the food offerings, the location of the Hawaii Building was just perfect. Close to both pools, not too far of a walk from the main building and a nice set up inside the lounge itself with seating on the 2nd and 3rd floors. We went to the Race Expo and then returned to the lounge and hung out upstairs on the 3rd floor while waiting for our room ready text that came around 2pm. Afternoon appetizers were shrimp lettuce wraps, chips, celery, carrots, goldfish crackers. There may have been more but that is what I remember having. We went to MK and made it back to late for the dinner apps but did enjoy beverages and dessert.

I had reserved a Garden View CL room and we received room 1505 which was a lagoon view? Theme park view? It was definitely an upgrade from what I reserved but we had a lovely view of the Bungalows (is that what they are called over the water) with the top of the Castle and Space Mountain behind it.
We were definitely able to enjoy Happily Ever After from our patio (truth be told I was ugly crying), especially with the music piped in all around us. Perfect end to our arrival day.

Saturday, we did the Enchanted 10k and came back to the same breakfast, same afternoon appetizers and we made it back from AK too late again to try evening appetizers. But soon enough to enjoy some adult beverages and desserts. In between, while relaxing on our patio, I had two aggressive ducks come up to the patio and basically chase me off. I'm sure they were looking for food, which I refused to give, but the mallard raised its wings at me and I scrambled to go inside. My husband and son thought this was hysterical and told me I was mugged by a mallard. As we were ending our night, the staff was packing up some peanut butter and bread and I think water bottles for those running the half marathon the next morning. I say this because that was my experience at the Atrium Club last year for both the 10k and the Half, but at Poly it was just for the half. I shared a seat on the race bus who was staying at the Grand Floridian who said that she too had nothing for the 10k, but she figured it was because our resorts this year have 24 hour quick service as opposed to prior years. Good theory. I don't know whether true. I did not run the half this year so not sure what was available as runners were heading to the monorail.

Sunday, we went to BWI for breakfast at 10:20 at Trattoria Del Forno. My son is playing Prince Eric in Little Mermaid JR at his school, so we found a way to meet him on this trip (after meeting Ariel earlier in the trip) and having them sign a newspaper article about his show. This was one time I regretted not staying at an Epcot resort, but I attribute a lot of the traffic to the race I should have been running. We made it very close to our ADR and were seated right away. I recommend this breakfast if these characters are must dos. Food was good, but could be found elsewhere faster and cheaper. After breakfast, we enjoyed 3 parks - Epcot, DHS and MK. Waiting for a monorail back from MK at the end of the day was an exercise in patience. But worth it to ride POTC unplanned. Lounge was closed upon our return.

Monday, usual CL breakfast followed by pool time and then a nice walk to the Transportation and Ticketing Center to catch the monorail to Epcot for our ADR at Le Cellier for my son's birthday. We were all pleasantly surprised at how nice the walk to the TTC was, but a- there was a nice breeze and b - we had adult beverages.

CL staff helped print out our boarding passes for our trip today, and also called Lost and Found when my husband thought he had misplaced his insulin.

We enjoyed this resort immensely and probably relaxed more than on other trips. We did find ourselves missing our Epcot resorts and took a tour of some of them after breakfast and while waiting for a boat to DHS, but I could see myself staying here again. The pools were nice, but I can't put them in the great category. The hot tubs were awesome, especially after the 10k. I loved the location of the Hawaii Building.
That's a pixie dust upgrade to lv .:tink:

i have had that room and I loved watching gf and the boats etc.

:guilty:Yikes, I’m concerned now. I too went into the system after my call to signature services and changed some things around to where we could repeat some rides ex. FOP and SDMT. I only did this for two days and for these two rides I have not received a call about my changes. I do not want to lose any of my FP’s.

Anyone else have this same phone call about the FP system throwing out a duplicate ride? Not sure what I need to do.

Frankly I’m not sure why it can’t be done. One should be able to book the attractions with the normal FP’s that comes with your trip. We are paying for the 3 others. It is not much of a deal or perk unless a few repeats of favorite attractions can be booked. Am I wrong in my thinking?:listen:

I changed one (maybe two?) to a duplicate attraction and have NOT received a phone call, nor has it been changed in MDE.

I knew there had been some talk about this, so I asked the CM (this was my second call, which I shall explain below). I said something along the lines of..."Just to clarify, if I pay for this program, I get the benefit of no tiers for the paid program, but I potentially will forfeit my Tier 1s that come with my park ticket if there is a conflict?" She said, and I quote, "I cannot duplicate any attraction." But she did not say that attractions cannot be duplicated within the system and she emphasized the "I". FWIW, but it sounds like this may be changing...we'll see if anything changes in MDE...

So now for my PSA...this was my second call to DSS. I had completed the FPs for the program, and my 60 day mark was coming up for my other days. I had checked everything in MDE after I did the CL FPs and thought I had reviewed the email, although apparently not thoroughly enough. I looked at the email again before my 60 day mark to remind myself what I had done, and I realized it said one day of the CL FPs were on the WRONG day! So instead of Tue/Wed/Thu it was Tue/Wed/Fri and it had my AK CL FPs on my MK day! Since it's based on availability, I had a minor freak out. I called DSS again and it turned out the email was wrong but the CL FPs were assigned to the correct days, which is probably why I didn't notice it more quickly when I reviewed MDE.

Now, looking again in MDE to see if the duplicates had been changed, I now notice that some of the CL FPs have been assigned to a party of 6 (I am a party of 4) and include my sisters who are in "My Other Family and Friends". So, I suggest double checking emails and MDE to make sure everything is in order! I'm sure people will do this, but just a reminder!

I just want to say I hope you have a great trip! My husband and I will be arriving at the BWI late Saturday night and after a one night stay in a standard BWI room we will be switching to the BWI CL early Sunday morning. It will just be a short stay as we will be leaving late Wednesday evening. Maybe we will run in to you in the lounge:)
Thank You! We are checking in Sunday, hopefully early enough to enjoy the brunch offerings. Hope you have a great trip as well!

I’m thinking the same as you. I also think they shouldn’t change anything that has already been done.
I remember a few years back there was a glitch for a few hours that let you book any rides regardless of tiers. I was able to get both Soarin and TT ... plus both Rockin and TSM. It was quickly fixed but Disney allowed those who double booked Toer 1s to keep them. Their fault so no penalty. I feel this is along the same lines.
For the FPS I booked I doubled up Soarin and 7D.. but not back to back times. Hours apart so I hope that’s not an issue. FOP I doubled up as well and those are back to back which I guess could be an issue but I’ll make sure we scan the first one right when the window opens to hopefully not affect the next.

Thanks for your detailed review. Glad you had a great time and enjoyed Poly CL :wizard:.

Just wanted to give a quick update with my experience today booking the new CL Extra FP temporary incentive buy more and see/do more program... or whatever it is officially called.. (even the CM don't know the name of the program.. so Im going to go w/ this one for now)

-37 Minutes from start to finish (including hold time) booked 4 days for family of 4. Had no problems booking any FP w/ the exception of TSMM which for Memorial Day week/weekend it is still not accepting FP because it will still be a standby only attraction.
-Prior to booking CM nicely gave us the rules and upon completions received a nice summary email with the times/rides/attractions listed with what we booked
- When they charged your CC - they charge for each of the members of your party separately... not that its a show stopper but interesting
- We tried to book a regular FP in addition to our 3 Extra and then change an original to another attraction (ie: Flight of Passage). We successfully changed online after we completed our transaction. We were called an hour later by Signature Services which said we were not allowed to duplicate rides for the same ride/same day and they would not want to have us miss out on an attraction- so we had to switch it back to the original. The other reason they cited was that their system was unable to handle these fast passes duplicating bc once ridden the first ride the system would delete your other FP.
- We spent some time doing a touring plan- and i think that was a reason it didn't take as long. We got all the times that we wanted- give or take 15-45 minutes.. not a deal breaker- I can always find something to look at.

I think everything else has been covered on @GaDisneyDad thread.. but wanted to add re: our experiences. Please let me know if you have any questions... would be happy to answer what I can ;)

Thanks for posting your experience with DSS and CL extra FP option :flower3:.

44 Days until my families first ever stay at the Poly and first ever Club level stay!!!! I honestly can't even put into words how excited I am ( well we all are but I'm the obsessive Disney addict so I'm Disney all day!!! :) ) We are going for 10 nights, 11 days with 6 days in the park. With my three kids (ages 8,6,2) its nice to break up the park days and I'm so excited to really just enjoy our first stay at the Poly and enjoy full use of CL offerings!!!

I even bought a new Gopro for this trip!! lol Obviously I don't want to get wrapped up in filming, pictures, etc but I do want to capture this experience as best as possible as well as being present and enjoying everything with my family!!

Anyways sorry to ramble here but I will post again when my trip gets closer but if there is anything anybody wants me to look into, film, take pictures, I am more then willing to try and do what I can!!!!!!

We're staying CL at AKL in May and can't wait! For you CL veterans, are there sodas available all day that we could take back to our room? My husband prefers his caffeine cold and so I usually bring Cokes with us (we drive). Am I safe leaving those at home? From reading previous posts it looks like I should still pack my bottles of water, though.

I had DSS book our FP for this trip, it was done one my 90 day window date, I had a voicemail from them after the FP were made. I don’t remember the exact time but pretty sure it was before 10am EST

These were the free ones only? You didn't pay for any FP?

I am wondering if early callers to this program got perks that are now being reviewed/removed as the program progresses, as I was given a definite 'no' about booking free, or regular FP at the 90 day window without the purchased ones.

I called a few days too soon but I am going to call again on my 90 day of departure date to see if another CM tells me anything different.

I think that, at that price level, repeats should be allowed. However, maybe this program is more popular than Disney anticipated, and their 'extra, paid FP, separate pool' is being depleted more rapidly than expected.

Is it just duplicates on the same day they won't do? For example if I wanted to schedule 3 paid FP for FOP three days in a row can you do it? Or another example if I have a paid fp for FOP on Tuesday, will they schedule a regular FP for FOP for Wed?

As usual with all new programs the "rules" seem a bit fluid.

The SS CM stated she could not book duplicates, but could book my club level extras along with my three FP.

This is what I booked via Signature Services for my Animal Kingdom day: * is the extra paid for FP
FOP *
Navi river *
Lion king show *

My regular three I would get anyway:
K safari
dinosaur (DH did not want this one so I went into system to look and FOP was available so I booked it)
Everest

So that is why I’m confused, the system let me change dinosaur to FOP without any warning and I did not get a call from SS telling me I cannot do this. It still is showing in MDE, so will I be okay or will I lose it? Hmmm

Yes there is a cooler on the far wall with cold beverages. Feel free to take some and put in your room in the frig there.

A pp posted a great photo above of the refrigerator with the soda on the bottom left, this is how the refrigerator looks in the morning, in the afternoon the yogurts and some of the milk and juices are removed, and they add more soda, I know that they also had Dr. Pepper and orange Fanta cans, in addition to what you can see above, when we were at AKL CL in January.

For those worried about the duplicate FastPass issue that @got15 (my DW) mentioned, you can still go in and update them to something else (if they are the regular FastPasses), or have Signature Services update them (if they are the special FastPasses). It would not be a problem until the day of, when you tried to use the first one. According to the CM, the system can't handle the duplicated ride, and could use one or both of them when you scan in for the ride. They don't want you to have a bad experience (especially since you paid for extra ones), so they were trying to be proactive about it.

As an aside, we had a similar experience on our last trip. We had been given an extra FastPass for SDMT (an all-day one) when we already had a regular FastPass for it. When we scanned in for the regular one, my son accidentally touched the magic band twice and it used both. Not certain that this is the issue, but it certainly sounds related.

Thanks for the explanation, @Shawn K. Makes sense - good to know...I had two of those "anytime" FPs added to my account for an issue my group had in January - we were in AK but couldn't use them for FOP, but anyway they "looked" different than the DSS ones in my MDE since the DSS ones have a specific date/time. With the January trip, we had a similar problem like you mentioned...we decided to use the "extras" that were added to our MDE on Everest, but we weren't paying attention to the time and we were like 2 minutes early for our KS FP, so instead of turning blue it took the "anytime" one instead. We explained to the CMs and it worked out, but like you said, may be a systems issue...

I originally didn't have any duplicates like that due to my park day schedule, then we swapped a couple of days around and we ended up with a full day/evening at AK and hence the duplicate. I will need to rethink things...if I can't duplicate, it doesn't work as well for that day...

We've done club level at Contemporary and Beach Club, but for this adults only anniversary trip we decided to try Boardwalk CL. Never been to this resort although it seems fun. A couple of questions:
1. Do all of the Club Level standard rooms have balconies? That's important to us.
2. Can anyone tell me about these Club Level rooms with the picket fence? I'm not exactly sure what this is since we're unfamiliar with the resort, but the booking agent said that one was available.
3. As recently as June the Contemporary had small bottles of water to take to the park, does Boardwalk Club level have?
4. Finally, I've had some very good luck with my gluten allergy at other resorts when staying Club Level, at the Contemporary they were above and beyond accommodating, anyone have any Gluten Free experiences or tips at Boardwalk Club Level to share?

Any and all input is welcome. Please and thank you!
