Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

We were at the YC the third week in April - yes to both questions! The welcome drink was a strawberry champagne thing, and it was delicious! They said we could request it anytime, so we asked for some on our checkout day when we were feeling sorry for ourselves because we had to leave! At turndown, they gave us Ghiradelli milk chocolates!

Would love to hear what the club offerings were! Also, did you have any issues with the noise or other refurb issues?

I haven't always been greeted but if you find a CM they will give you the arrival talk. When I was at BWI CL, I asked for wine in the afternoon and someone told me 'not til 5'. Then another woman came in and took out a bucket of beers (different CM). I think you have to ask another CM if you don't think the answer they are giving you is correct. I thought it was annoying too but next time I would just ask someone else.
Totally agree! It's all in who you ask!

Hoe does the check in at GF SL work? Last time I stayed at RPC a CM was waiting when we got off the bus to take us right up. However, of Cms don't greet you at ME anymore do I have to go to the regular checkin and wait in line?

My experience a few weeks ago...

- Arrived by car, bell services took our bags, no 'greeters' out front (other than Richard (I think is his name), the older CM who tends to always be out front saying hello... very much a treat to be greeted by him in our daily comings/goings)
- Walked in the lobby, looked around for 'someone' who I could tell we were checking in CL. No one at first so I got in line at the desk, but a few seconds later I spotted a CM walking around with an ipad so I grabbed her. She did the whole check-in process right there in the main lobby, gave us a very brief verbal overview of the resort, CL, checked all of our MBs to make sure they worked, etc. I'm being picky but this process was somewhat awkward just standing there, in the middle of the lobby, with my kids running around given the excitement of arriving.
- She then walked us to a bell services CM who got a golf cart and our luggage, who drove us over to SL.
- He took us up to our room. Never did any sort of check-in with a SL CL CM, recieved any CL paperwork, a print-out of our itinerary (like they do at some places), or anything like that. Frankly the SL CL CMs barely even looked up when we walked in with the bell services CM.

Not sure if that's normal or not?

Honestly, I much prefer checking-in at the actual CL CM desk like what has happened at most of my other CL experiences. You can sit down, get the kids a snack/drink so they sit still, chit chat with the CM a bit. If I'm being picky and not that I want sirens and confetti going off upon stepping foot on property, but the Bell Services CM was the real star of our SL arrival...everything else was somewhat uninspired.

Sounds rather disappointing!

Oh, how I miss Don and Juanita!

Does anyone here know their whereabouts?

I also have been disappointed in DSS.

Same here. Don and Juanita provided amazing service and I've been wondering where they are as well. :sad2:

Don was still there at AKL CL as of March. I don't recall meeting Juanita, but I was only there for two nights and could have just missed her.

Is it fair of me to be annoyed by these two points on our current stay at BWI CL?

I asked for a glass of Cabernet, he asked me if that was white, I said that it was red, he went into the back, poured me a glass of Chardonnay, he handed it to me, I said that I asked for a Cabernet, at which point he told me that they don't do red wine until 5pm. Weird... considering I got Cabernet Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon. Is this standard?

Also, no one greeted us at the front on Sunday. We arrived by car. This is the second time staying at CL that this has happened. Had to go to front desk, find someone, and then we were taken upstairs.

Am I wrong for just being irritated by these points?

I would be irritated, too. When we stayed in March, no one met us out front (although rarely have we ever had that whole greet out front thing). I went to the bellstand inside and the nicest girl called upstairs, got no answer so took us up herself and gave us a nice welcome speech. She had to hunt down a co ncierge CM for us to get checked in. We did ask for white wine one afternoon (which we promptly turned into sangria using their strawberry lemonade and a splash of gingerale). If they can get white before 5, no reason why they can't pour you a glass of red....

DSS couldn't do anything for me. I was a little disappointed in the way they said no not the fact it is a no. I asked about Rivers of Light dinning for October since it isn't on the website. I know previously the resort specific people would at least confirm to you that it is still on their schedule and it should come out soon so they'll put it on your file to book when available but I got a response of it is not yet bookable and will need to call or email again to check at a later date. I asked about Bon Voyage and instead of just saying unfortunately unavailable the response made me feel stupid for even asking because they replied that it is a brand new offering and has been bookable through them for several weeks so there is no way I can get a reservation now. Thankfully I do have on for our last day but just wanted to see if DSS had openings for earlier in our trip.

Well, I just got my confirmation # from my TA - we are officially booked at Poly CL for the week between Christmas and New Year's! :cool1: I'm trying to get away from taking my DD out of school for trips so I was originally looking at the last week of August. Since we're planning to spend most of the trip outside of the parks anyway, though, we decided we'd rather deal with crowds than August heat, and we'll get to see some great NYE fireworks! This will be the longest we've gone between trips in a while, though. My DD and I might have to sneak down for another MNSSHP to get a quick Disney fix before our longer trip.

Does anyone know if they have Baileys available on CL - particularly Atrium Club?

Bailey's is my fave - they did NOT have it at YC when we were there in April, although I know you're more interested in Atrium Club. They had something that they said was similar, but not so much...

Thanks so much! Hope you had fun! Can you tell us what some of the hot evening appetizers were while you were there?

We had a blast! Sister trip - we were having so much fun on our balcony one night we never made it out to Epcot as planned!

Hot evening apps - I should have written things down! I tried to take pictures but best laid plans and all...usually I think there was a finger-type food in one serving dish, such as little pigs in a blanket one night, really good chicken fingers another night. Then the other one had like a combo type thing - I recall one night it was like a brisket and mashed potatoes and another some type of beef with polenta. Sorry I'm not more specific...I blame the wine...

Would love to hear what the club offerings were! Also, did you have any issues with the noise or other refurb issues?

I posted about our refurb issues a few pages back so sorry if I'm repeating myself...generally, we were not too impacted by it. We could hear it during the day, but it was two floors down at that point, so not too bad, and nothing really going on in the common areas. I don't know what is planned for the common areas in the future, so that could certainly change! The store (can't remember the name, something and fittings or something?) was closed and a pop up store was in the lobby. We received a message two different days that our water might be turned off from 12-3pm, but I can't confirm this as we weren't in the room. My sister stayed back to do some work one day, and she said the construction noise got a little distracting, so could be problematic depending on your party/needs. There was a fire alarm one day that was inconveniently timed for us as we had to evacuate and then wait outside (and in the rush, somehow I ended up headed to the pool with two bathing suit bottoms - d'oh!) - there was speculation that it was construction related but I don't know for sure...

Okay, so club offerings...I will try to post some pics if I can figure it out. In the evening, there was cheese and crackers, fruit, etc., then there was generally three cold salads, a small plated item (two out of three nights seafood), and then two hot items in serving dishes. The cold salads were delicious...things such as a Mediterranean anti-pasto salad, tomato caprese salad, bean salads, etc. Everything was delicious! Oh, almost forgot my sister's fave - a "stuffed" potato salad (it had cheese and bacon in it!)!

Trying to upload pics but telling me the files too big so will try to figure out in a bit...

I think this might be the Karma send over from the CR CL for being cheated on
:P:D

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Ha! I am snake bit when it comes to GF CL. I blow the vacation budget to stay at RPC last year.... height of Disney CL cutbacks. I stay at SL this year...they start a chef station the very next week with some awesome looking food (hello, mussels, yes please!).

I can't win when it comes to GF! :rotfl:

Richard is awesome :goodvibes.
