Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

So yesterday, I emailed Signature Services just to see if they would respond and what is offered through them. I was happy that they returned the email within a couple of hours. The email confirmed their existence as the replacement to IPO and they did offer to do our ADR's if I contact them between business hours (9 am - 5 pm) on our ADR day. They reiterated that ADR's are available at 7 am though.

I know that I have only used IPO to do ADR's once in the past because I prefer to do them myself, however, the time I did use them, I woke up on ADR morning and they had already secured all of my desired reservations by 7:30 am.

I will be doing my ADR's myself this time, which is fine, but I just wanted to throw that out as a possible indicator of the services provided.

GF feels more like a "vacation" to me. CR feels more like I'm there to do Disney. Both are great feelings!

This is a perfect comparison of the two. While at CR, it just feels exciting - like we need to get out and go! However, at the GF we feel like we want to relax and take it all in. I agree, both are great feelings!

So we were booked for 7 nights BC CL in June backed up with 7 nights Poly CL at the start of July - we are having some renovations done in our house - so we switched to BC standard for 6 nights and Poly CL for 8 nights instead - same dates just shifted slightly so that we were at Poly for the 30th of June (our 10 year wedding anniversary) - I'm a little bummed to let go of BC CL because we love the food choices there - but we figured we were doing a lot more park touring at the start of our trip that we wouldn't be able to get to the lounge that much - where at Poly we are planning more down-days - I know it was the right way to allocate our money (to our house) - but it was still a bummer to change! Hey, at least we are still going for two weeks (eek!) and staying at amazing resorts!

This is fantastic, thank you. When were the reports of the upgraded food at Poly? We stayed July of 2016 so just wondering if more recent than that. We found the CMs then to range from completely disinterested to downright rude. Food choices were really bad.

We were there at Christmas and if those were upgraded food choices, I would hate to think about what it was like before.

And simply the worst CM experiences we've had and we've had some doozies.

The only good thing I can say is that we did the OHana room service in the lounge and it was amazeballs.

But I think if they offered me a free stay at Poly Club Level, I would pass unless there was proof they had cleaned house.

You guys are scaring me. We have the Poly Club Level booked for 4 nights in May. Should we move? We have 2 rooms, with 4 adults and two 4 year olds.

Just a bit more feedback regarding Disney Signature Services. I had read here that they offered to order a cake for someone. I just called them to inquire and was given the number for the cake hotline. FYI :-)

They have been very helpful with everything else, including making sure Kilimanjaro Club will have soy milk for us during our stay.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I contacted them regarding room requests. The response was a short confirmation with the disclaimer that they can't guarantee any room requests. Maybe I was spoiled, but we have had many club level stays, the majority at AKL. I felt like we really got to know the IPO cast members for AKL. They knew our requests and what we like. They knew what we considered our room. They were so good with my DD. They knew she loved Mickey stickers and would leave her tons in the room, made notes on the system so when we checked in the cast members knew she loved them, etc. Its going to take me a little while to get used to this new system.

Also, if you had 3 kids, would you take the bigger room at WL? Or would you pick the Theme Park view Atrium Club level?
.

Bmath,
I know you did not ask but when I saw your 3 kids and their ages, I thought I would throw this out there. Have you thought of the cabings at FW? I know ask because I stayed there with my daughter and mom, we fell inlove with it. It was nice to have the space, have separate sleeping area so we could put my daughter to bed and stay up, having the kitchen was nice, the restaurant was good, the water parade was fun to watch, and all the space inside/out made it mor relaxing.

Whatever you choose, have a wonderful time.

Thanks for reporting your experience! That was the same response I had in the old IPO days as well (July of last year, to be exact).

Soooo.... did you order a cake? Just curious!

Not yet. I am waiting a few days to see if the ROL dining packages open up. We have an ADR at Tiffin's on my daughter's birthday that I will switch if we get lucky. Since the cake order is tied to the ADR I just want to be sure of the time and reservation number. I have ordered them in the past though and have been very pleased.

We were there the first week of January 2017, and I completely agree with everything, except we had the Ohana feast in our room..

Besides the lackluster food options, and CM's, there were constantly food trays with leftover food in the hallways all day/night long

Oh no... this is not sounding good for Poly. Anyone else have thoughts? Should we move to a different hotel?

Ok, so this post is geared towards someone who has never stayed there before. Sorry if you already know all of this stuff and it's a given! Hard to tell who is a Disney pro and who isn't.

Soooo... when it comes to Poly (and Poly CL), my view is that it's all about location, location, location. No doubt Poly has had the worst food in my CL travels to date and even one trip where the CM's where so bad/rude I swore I'd never go back. But, I'll point out a few things that make it work for us...

- I dislike the "longhouse roulette" that comes with staying at Poly. If I'm going to fork over the money for Poly, I prefer to know exactly what I'm getting. Booking CL is pretty much the only way to do that. I know exactly what longhouse I'll be in and what view I'll have. Total control. That's worth something for me.
- The Hawaii longhouse is smack dab between both pools. I can move around easily depending on the time of day, our mood, crowd, etc. So convenient.
- The view. No other CL lounge on property, with the exception of maybe CR, has this view. Take away everything else but the view and I'd still be content.
- Poly CL is the only lounge where I've found it convenient to grab a beer or wine any time of the day. Pretty much has to do with location relative to the pools. I don't run into the lounge every time I want to grab a drink when we're at the pool, but if I'm running back/forth for a bathroom break, to grab something, whatever, you can get good drink mileage from Poly CL.
- Poly has great transportation options. Monorail or boat to MK. Walk to TTC for monorail to Epcot. We tend to go to Epcot a lot at all different times of the day, so this is a huge part of it for us.
- Despite what I (and others) say about the food, my DS loves the food options there, and that's saying something. If I don't have to go wait in line at Cap't Cooks, I'm a happy parent.

I really could go on but those are the highlights. Obviously very subjective of course!

If you're thinking about switching resorts, I'd recommend answering what exactly you want out of the resort first before deciding just upon which CL.

Let us know what you do!

Thank you so much for your input. We typically stay at AKL and this stay is actually a split stay between Poly and AKL. Both stays are club level. We utilize the lounge a lot. We have two 4 year olds in our party. We plan on going to MK 2 days and Epcot 1 day during our Poly stay. We are staying Saturday-Wednesday at Poly and then Wednesday-Saturday at AKL. Wednesday being a non-park day. We thought that on this trip we would try something new. We have stayed once at GF and once at Beach Club. All the other stays have been AKL. We typically eat breakfast in the lounge, hit rope drop, eat lunch at a park and are back to the hotel by about 3. We like to swim and hang out at the hotel in the evenings. We enjoy the evening offerings. We typically make a meal out of the evening offerings by adding some items from the quick service restaurant. I picked the Poly because of the monorail, being able to see Wishes and watching the Electrical Parade on the lake in the evening. What makes you say Poly has the worst food? Thanks again for your help.

Thanks! We did consider some other options with more room to hang out. I think we will end up on the balcony most nights and if we want to go out just get in room babysitting. For me, the view and convenience of CR is what sold me. I was VERY close to pulling the trigger on WL CL Deluxe which has that separate room.

Lol, when are your dates? I've been following the whole ROL thing too.

Feb 24 to March 8. I am still holding out hope. We were there at the same time last year and had lunch at Flame Tree while watching the construction and I kept thinking there is no way they are going to be ready on time. Little did I know...Lol.

In AKL in a 2 bedroom resort suite (not DVC) is there a highchair? Is there one in the Club area?
