Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I posted this on the Contemporary thread but I was hoping someone here could answer this. We will be staying at the CR CL TPV room and need 2 rooms. I looked on touring plans and it says that none of the rooms are connecting. Does anyone know if that is correct? I was hoping for connecting rooms since we have 4 kids and we are bringing some of our DDs friends. Thanks!
We had a connecting room in January when we were there. Sadly I know this because the person in the other room had kids that like to kick the door every morning at 6am

SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!!

My travel agent had DVC points that had to be used by July and she gave them to me! We added a day on so this time next week, I will be checking in!!!!

so Thursday I will be in a regular DVC Jambo room and then Friday, move to CL. Anyone can tell me how this works? Do I go downstairs and "check back in"?

Yes, there are connecting rooms. I have found the Touring Plans Room Finder to be extremely inaccurate when it comes to room types and room amenities. So much so I stopped using it and stopped recommending it.

We are reserved in a Deluxe Club Level Room at the Wilderness Lodge March 7 -10th 2017.... I just learned about the lounge construction, rumors say it should be done by April, but I am concerned.

We just returned from our first Poly CL stay and I have mixed feelings. The access to the lounge itself was great, but we encountered a few really rude CMs who dampened the stay. I'm not sure we would pay the extra $ for CL again, but we still love the Poly!

Sorry about the early morning wake up call. Thanks for the response. I am glad there are.

Thanks. I am now second guessing other things I found on Touring Plans. So I will still hope to get adjoining rooms.

I can't answer your original question but can say that the Room Finder tool on Touring Plans website is extremely inaccurate when it comes to room types and room amenities. I do know there's at least 2 of them as we have had one as well as my parents. If you want one with a daybed and full balcony, make those your only requests. That's what we did.

I've never used TP, but I have read a lot of posts about them being inaccurate as far as the room finder :sad2:.

I agree with dansdad about the requests. If a daybed and full balcony is a priority, I'd stick with just those two ;).

I know! At AKL, You cant find a Queen and Bunk Bed CL room on there, they don't list it as an option to put in, only queens, not breaking it down, but I'm pretty sure they have them. Anyone have any info on that, as in if there are any in Kudo and how many and what area?

You are correct that there are queen/bunk bed rooms on CL. Since they are not a bookable category and are by request only on CL, I don't know if they are in any particular section/area or if they're scattered. With that said, I would call or email AKL IPO and ask about their location. You can also have them note your request if you'd like to have a bunk room :).

Congrats on booking WL CL! I haven't kept up on WL construction, but I hope the lounge is completed for your stay :wizard:.

We just returned from our first Poly CL stay and I have mixed feelings. The access to the lounge itself was great, but we encountered a few really rude CMs who dampened the stay. I'm not sure we would pay the extra $ for CL again, but we still love the Poly!

I'm sorry about the rude CL CMs, but glad you enjoyed the convenience of the lounge and loved the Poly overall :).

We are on a split stay right now. We did Poly CL first 4 nights and are now at BC CL. Like night and day. I found Poly to be overcrowded, not cleaned well, constantly running out of items and mostly semi-rude (or at least indifferent CMs). Food wasn't very good.

BC CL has been STELLAR!!! The CMs are exceptional- the type of VIP service a person expects when paying CL prices. We are greeted warmly by name, they remember what we are drinking- that sort of thing. And the food is absolutely amazing. Gourmet quality, tons of offerings. Can easily be dinner. The chef is milling around seeing how people are enjoying. Well-staffed and spotless. Worth every penny extra.

We are booked CL in the Main Building at the Grand Floridian with a Theme Park view. Under the online check in there is an option to request a dormer room. Would that be a good thing? It will be me, DH and DS, age 9.

Thanks!

We are back from a split-stay at BWI CL deluxe room and then Poly CL LV. I just posted a review of BWI CL in the BWI thread. It was our first CL stay there, so I wanted to mini review it. As far as Poly CL, we are veterans at staying there and my opinion is well known...nothing much has changed for us in that regard. It's our favorite CL (along with RPC) because of the location, lounge views, and our first floor lagoon room. Still, we wish the lounge food would improve. BC, BWI, and RPC have outstanding food, and we wish Poly would follow suit. A few things to note about both CL experiences:

BWI CL deluxe room #4255, fourth floor, first room inside security doors.
Things we loved:
> CM's are excellent! I now understand why so many people rave about them. To list a few....Pete, JJ, Lorenzo, Howie, Anita, and basically every other CM too. Housekeeping was excellent too -- very professional and friendly.
> The lounge food was outstanding. I posted pictures in the BWI thread. To name some food that stood out: minestrone soup (a soup each night), fresh Italian bread, shrimp, mac & cheese, chicken Caesar salad, artichokes, roasted veggies, full-sized greek yogurt and bottles of OJ for breakfast, bottles of water available from CM's.
> Our room was a super convenient size. The couch converted to a large bed, much larger than the normal daybed. 2 large TV's. I posted pics in the BWI thread.

Things that we didn't love:
> The lounge didn't have a view. You could step out onto a balcony and see some high fireworks at night, but it felt like an "enclosed" type of lounge like the BC.
> The CL location was on the 4th floor and sort of a hike to get places. Our room was maybe about 10 or so rooms away from the lounge, not really bad at all. But then we had to go the other way to get the elevator down to the boardwalk. If going to the pool, it wasn't overly convenient to go back and forth to the lounge.
> The lounge was small....maybe 7 or 8 tables. Did have a couch, though, and nice big TV.
> Iced tea and lemonade dispensers were only out for maybe the afternoon. Would've loved them out at night too.
> Our balcony was simply too small for us. I had read the warnings beforehand, but we highly prefer being on the same floor as the lounge. Prioritizing, we'd still request 4th floor.

POLY CL LV, Room #1505.
Things we loved:
> Location of Hawaii! Simply can't be beat. Can walk to both pools in less than a minute. Very convenient to go back and forth to the lounge.
> The view from the lounge is amazing. LOVE that we can relax in the lounge without being rushed out and enjoy the spectacular view.
> Our 1st floor patio with lagoon view is our ultimate favorite room in Disney. Whenever we have a break in our room, I'm immediately outside on the patio enjoying the view and soothing music. Watching Wishes right from our patio is magical, nothing compares to this for our family.
> CM Irv. Everyone knows him. He makes it a point to know everyone. Whenever we need anything at all, we look for him and we know we'll have it.
> July 3 and 4. Perfect. CM's did an outstanding job this year. We finally feel like we got exactly what we paid for.
> We had welcome note and chocolates!

Things we didn't love:
> The CM's are never very friendly. There is one in particular that I avoid every trip because I had him at check-in a few years ago and he totally turned me off.
> Housekeeping was not great, especially after coming from BWI CL (which had top-notch housekeeping). I'm not sure how to even describe the service -- none of them were friendly, not even sure what language they spoke, room was rarely cleaned by 3:00 pm. My tips were like night and day from BWI to Poly....

In comparing the 2 CL experiences, BWI was the superior CL due to the food and CM's. But Poly remains our favorite because of everything else it has to offer. No other resort can compare to the lounge and room views of being right on the lagoon seeing GF, the Castle, CR....and also being steps away from both pools is a huge perk. The overall ambiance of Poly is what lures us in. On our last morning at Poly, I sat on the patio with tears in my eyes because I was going to miss listening to the soothing music while enjoying my favorite view in WDW.

Setbacks have been a huge discussion over the last several months. If they are even still happening, they are not apparent at BWI. In fact, there were really almost too many CM's working. The lounge is already small, and there were at least 4 CM's in it each night. They're very efficient and I bet 2 CM's could easily do the job. Poly also had an abundance of CM's working, though Poly's lounge is much larger and they need several CM's working each night. CM Irv commented that he was laid off for 2 months earlier in the year, but now he is back to his normal working hours. We had turndown each night at both resorts. We had a welcome card and chocolate at Poly. No welcome card or chocolate at BWI.

We opted to do the direct-to-room text and skip the personal check-in, and both resorts did tell us we could have been greeted and properly walked to CL (poor Pete said he had been looking for us all day! I felt bad...). When we walked directly to Hawaii from the monorail, the desk CM gasped and said "where is your welcome lei and why didn't someone walk you back here?" I quickly explained it was our choice to just walk back ourselves and she was okay with that, but she jumped up and gave us a hug and welcome lei. So at least these 2 CL's seem to have greeters back in service again!

We recently did a BC/GF split and I have to agree with you. It was not our first time CL at either one, but this time (so very different from the last time) we were pleasantly surprised with the BC lounge, the CMs, and especially the food offerings. Much more so than RPC at the GF (which wasn't bad, but not nearly as nice and it cost quite a bit more). Glad you loved the BC, too!

Agree with your BC CL review! We had an awesome BC CL experience over Memorial Day and it sounds very similar to yours. Definitely worth the extra money!

I know exactly who you are talking about :teeth:

Housekeeping was not great, especially after coming from BWI CL (which had top-notch housekeeping). I hear you.
One night my daughter had an accident and wet the bed. In the morning, we called housekeeping to let them know. They said they would take care of it.
I left them $20 and a note apologizing for the wet bed and the extra work they had to do. When we got back from the park that afternoon, we looked at the bed and noticed that the sheets were not changed! They just re-made the bed and left the soiled sheets on there! They had no problem taking my $20 though!
I called housekeeping and they told me that if I wanted the sheets changed, I had to strip the bed and leave the sheets on the floor. Ok, fine, I can totally understand that. It just would have been nice if they told me in the first place!
We came back from the park late at night, and the new sheets were on there, but they took away the comforter and the pillows and left us with nothing.
I called housekeeping and they said they would bring them right up. An hour later...nothing. We were all tired and just wanted to go to bed, so I called the concierge desk and luckily I got them before they left for the night. They promised they would get right on it. 30 minutes later, we had our comforter and pillows.

I agree about BWI CL! We are just back from room 4203, all the way down at the end of the hall by the stairs above ESPN. Well, the stairs won't let you exit out at the end of the Boardwalk, they only lead you to the quiet pool so you have to backtrack to the lobby to exit onto boardwalk. The food offerings were good, but the lounge is small. I did have good Illuminations views and even the holiday MK fireworks on Sunday night

I've avoided posting this anywhere but thought that I would mention it here as some of you probably do drive down and use valet. We had valeted at BWI starting on Saturday, checked in on Sunday and did self park, then realized how dang FAR it is. When we had our torrential downpour on Friday afternoon I saw that that was going to be the norm, so my daughter moved the car to valet on Saturday after lunch so the we could drive to the Polynesian for dinner. It really is a lot better to drive rather than wait and rely on the buses/monorails. Arrived at the Poly in less than 10 minutes and pulled up, told the attendant that the key was in the console as he gave me my receipt (and I told him that we were already valeted at BWI). My car has push to start so the key has to be close or it will shut off and not restart. Went in and had our dinner at 'Ohaha (it was quite good as usual). Came out to claim my car and the attendant goes to retrieve the car. Comes back and says I need your key, you didn't leave it with us. Yes I did, I told you that it was in the cupholder. NO, it's written on the envelope "no key". So I walk with him out to the lot and he heads to another white Mercedes ML that is next to my car. That's not my car this one is. Oh, well this ones didn't leave it's key either. We go all over the car, no key. He calls the attendant that parked it, nope, no key. I asked if he would check the envelope for the other car, oh, it's empty too. We walk back and he tells me that I'm going to have to call Mercedes and have them bring me a key. (That's at least $500 right there). I'm starting to boil by then as he keeps telling me that I lost the key. I ask him to check the front desk in case it was dropped and turned in. No key. another lady has come up to the valet stand by then and is talking to the lady at the desk. A few minutes later the lady at the desk says "is this your key" as she pulls my key ring out of the OTHER CARS ENVELOPE. That woman didn't leave her key and they had put my key in that envelope. No apology, no nothing. I really wish that there had been someone there that I could have complained to about that entire mess, it cost me a good 30 minutes of my time.

I have not seen any cider. I will check shortly to be sure. It's self serve for alcohol at both BWI and poly. BWI could've gone either way as they had the wine on a rolling cart, but everyone just served themselves. Both lounges have been packed with CMs which is a huge change from our easter stay at RPC when cutbacks were happening. Beverages have been outstanding here at poly while the food is so-so. BWI had outstanding food but we would've liked to have the iced tea and lemonade dispensers available all the time. As a side note, and I'll post more when we get home, the CMs at BWI are incredible -- I can see why so many of you rave about them.
I triple second the votes for the awesome CM's at the BWI lounge. Jackie is the BEST!!! I hope she is still there.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting Jackie. Though there was one woman CM that was there for one day/part of my stay, but I didn't catch her name so maybe that was her. I can say with all honesty that every CM I met was fabulous. One day, I opened my room door and the housekeeping was in there -- 3 people, one lady who seemed to be in charge who spoke clear English so I understood her, and 2 men. The 2 men were stripping the beds and also looked very professional. All 3 of them were ready to leave the room, but I insisted they stay and we only wanted to drop off our bottles of orange juice so we didn't have to carry them to the park. I left them in our room feeling 100% confident they were professionals doing a top notch job of cleaning.

OMG. I cannot even believe that. When we stay I always just leave a note with my tip and say, "Please change our sheets." They change them. I have never been instructed to strip the bed. Plus, your sheets were soiled (which, OF COURSE, happens to people). How could they have possibly just made up the bed? PLUS, you called and TOLD them ahead of time. I would have been livid.

Glad you are liking BC CL. Our hands down favorite for many years. We love the new lounge, the CM's and the food. Can't wait to be back there in a little over 5 weeks!!! Enjoy!

We agree with you. When we were at the Poly they ran out of food a lot. The BC would stock their food right up until the end. We love the Poly theme and resort but the BC lounge is much better. Thanks for your review.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We agree with you. We love the CMs at the BWI. Anita and Lorenzo are wonderful. We too love the Poly's resort but wish their lounge was like the BWI or the BC.
