Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can anyone tell me the most economical way for my family of 5 to stay club level at AKL? We have always stayed in a standard room club level, but now that my youngest is over 3, it seems like the options for us are very limited. I would appreciate any help on saving money, but still staying at our dream resort. Thank you!
I have this same problem. My youngest is 5 and we can never book AK club level or anything unless we book a 1 bedroom villa and unfortunately my three kids wont sleep on the sofa bed or chaired all week. They think it isn't comfortable. The only other option is to book 2 rooms and its too expensive. Good luck though and this is one of our dream resorts too!

I don't know that I am doing this correctly because I am totally new here but, we will be staying at Yacht Club, Club level June 11-17. I would love to be added. :-)

For some reason I don't get emails for tags or quotes. I only get them for PMs or messages made to my profile. So sorry!

Less than a month to go for our first Poly CL stay! I'm getting a little excited... :)

So far the only interaction I've had with IPO was when I put in my request for a high floor room and to inquire about Tiffin's reservations. At the time there was no date set for ADRs and they told me to keep checking so I booked it on my own when it opened up. I had asked if there was anything planned for the weekend of the 4th and they said they had no idea - even about whether there would still be a spot on the beach for us - back then either (March 8th). We also went ahead and got our own FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark since I wasn't sure what asking them to do it would have entailed. I haven't really been impressed with their pre planning at this point, so hopefully it is much better once we are there! :)

You will love the Poly! I can't comment on CL as we haven't tried it at the Poly, but the Poly overall is amazing! I'm sorry IPO has been less than stellar, but congrats on getting the ADRs and FPs you wanted :wizard:.

Hello CL fans! :) Last September we had a wonderful CL stay at WL, and although we are DVC members, my evil plan worked and DH is gunning for another CL stay! :yay: We have our September trip planned for BWV, but we are hoping to book CL @ BC for December. I am going crazy trying to find an email I received from Disney Destinations in April that contained an offer code. I know it will be a waste to call them without the code, so I guess I will just wait and hope for something soon, perhaps next week when the other room only code ends. Now I am off to re - read reviews on BC CL.

Yay for your DH wanting another CL stay! Our first CL stay was at WL and it was amazing, so it's easy to book CL after that. As far as your code, the one you received in an email might be attached to your name, so it might be beneficial to call :confused3. I know sometimes the CMs don't really know what you're talking about, but there are some good ones that are really helpful and know exactly what you're asking ;).

We're checking in on the 2nd too! There are so many of us from this forum going that I can't keep track of the user names when I see these posts. We usually go to Poly for the week of the 4th and it is indeed a nice little American spread they put out. I've posted pictures in the past, but from memory it's hotdogs (boiled-ugh-not my favorite but I add relish and everything is ok:)), baked beans, chicken wings, a great salad, a very clever fruit mixture red-white-blue.... It's so exciting to sit in the lounge enjoying all this while watching the outside area getting ready for the festivities!

I love reading about special things that go on over the different holidays! Hope you have another great 4th of July Poly stay :wizard:.

Our DD was worried about sleeping on the daybed in the room. So we packed an inexpensive foam topper & put that on the daybed. It made the bed really comfortable. It's really light weight & rolls up fairly small. We packed it in a suitcase. You just have to remember to take it off & repack it when you leave. You could try that for the sofa bed.

And I agree regarding the CL food offerings -- I wish Poly would up their food, but I guess they realize there are enough other perks with staying at Poly CL that people will keep coming back!
I'll have to make a name tag: I'm Ben and Morg's Mom----Kim O'Reilly LOL...they have never stayed at Poly CL so this will be their first. We are 19 +years DVC so we always stayed at BWV or BC where we own and never ventured out till last year. We do love CL, it suits Dennis and I well. I literally did seek out the Chef to ask before I booked the week stay, my husband thought I was nuts! Made the decision easier.

Was your friend there in the last 2 weeks of May? We were just there and experienced this new twist to the bands.

Can you explain what the new twist is when doing a split stay? We have had split stays several times and only used one band. We are doing a spilt stay with 3 resorts this summer.

OK...We received 2 sets of bands, in the past they were both linked to both reservations. So if we say had green and red, they both worked. Not this past stay. The first set only worked at the first hotel. The second at the second. That's was a first for us. They were not interchangeable although they were both linked under the DME account.
Does that make sense?

Is this a new thing, or do you think it could have been a glitch? I'm just curious because on our trip a couple of months ago we were assured that both sets of bands would work for both resorts, ADRs, FPs, etc. and they did. I can't say about the CL lounge, though, because we took a cruise in between the 2 stays so we didn't switch over to the new hotel the same day we checked out of the old one.

Thanks - Yes - wow that is new. So you couldn't link the first set of magic bands to the second hotel? We always do this. Is it true that now you can decline magic bands? If so I will just decline magic bands for the second and third hotel room.

Thanks that is great advice. I might try this next summer:thanks:

I actually did call and the CM I spoke with was really helpful, even though he said there wasn't a code attached to my email address. I knew free dining was offered during our dates, but explained we were are annual passholders, and I've never considered "free" dining. He told me I could choose the least amount of days for our passes, not activate them and use them towards our AP renewal. Has anyone ever done this? I just have to be sure they don't load our passes on our bands I guess. I'm also thinking it's going to be way too much food, but I'm so excited to experience CL at the Beach Club.

Have you guys done a 1 bedroom villa before? From what I am looking at $$$ wise, it looks like it is almost cheaper to just get two rooms. This should not be so hard for a family of 5. We are not THAT big of a family! :)

One thing we did not do....we could have gone to the Front Desk and have them reprogram the MB's but we did not. But they really did not work either or. Maybe it was a glitch and I did not reject either set because we keep the ressies separate that way. We always fly in late late, do a value then move to DVC next day or Club level cash stay. So I do think there is a way around this but it is another step...not just the online check in. The guard at the gate was not happy when we were out at the returning guest line with about 10 cars behind us and the bands wouldn't work. LOLOLOL Not Happy with the O'Reillys to say the least!!!!

I don't understand why Disney doesn't let you link resort reservations. I don't like that they treat these reservations as separate trips. We will go to check in and ask to have the magic bands work for our whole trip. We are a family of 6 and we are in 3 resorts - I would have to pack 18 magic bands. Thank you for letting us know. That is why the Disboard is so helpful. :thanks:

We've done several stays and s-lit stays and all of our magic bands (From current trips and past trips) have always been interchangeable. They all point to the same person on MDE and that's where everyone's tickets and reservations are located. I can't imagine why this would ever happen.

We arte staying one night at POR and switching that next morning to Boardwalk Inn. If I go early and check in, could we use the lounge when we get there and wait for our room to be ready? TX

Yes you can, we have done it many times.

Sorry the multiqote isn't working for me today. I expect the problem with the MB's was a glitch, they are interchangeable, as a PP said they all link to your MDE account, there is no information on the bands.

Hello. We are considering upgrading to Club level for our Poly stay next month. My understanding is the the 2nd floor rooms do not have a balcony. Does anyone know if the windows in those rooms open? We would like to give club level a try but my husband really likes having a balcony to sit on and if we go club level, he is worried it will decrease the possibility of having a balcony. Thank you!
