Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can anybody tell me anything about the deluxe king room at GF RPC or the TPV? Would you pay an extra $100 for the king room or $200 for the TPV? We are booked in a standard RPC room. I know people will have different views on "value" but I really need some advice. The extra cost is not an issue but I don't want to just throw away money and be disappointed. Are the room locations "better" or is there any other appreciable value to these two types of rooms? Any advice is appreciated!

I have not stayed yet, but I am in the (OCD!) process of booking a RPC room for the fall. After all my research it seemed the TPVs were not worth it. What I found with the Deluxe Kings is only certain ones have a balcony. For us that is big. You can request one with a balcony but you're not guaranteed it which for us is a no go. This trip is without kids and we plan to spend a lot more time relaxing at the resort so we really wanted an outdoor space of our own to relax and enjoy the lounge's offerings. So we are going with a two queen RPC room. Hope that helps.

But my main wonder is if the IPO's will have better luck getting those hard to get ressies than I may have (ie CRT)...

IPO has no extra "pull" when it comes to getting ADRs. So they will have the same chance as you will doing it yourself.

They would rather swim and go to the snack room (my kids term for the CL

Well that's better than my DS. He has taken to simply calling it "The Club." "Daddy can we go to the club?" "Daddy what kind of snacks are in the club today?" "Daddy, I'd rather just eat at the club than go to our Be our Guest reservations that I know you searched every day for 3 months to get....":mad::mad: Grrrr.....

We used IPO last weekend and they were lovely to work with but managed to book ADR for 4 rather than 5 people. Also booked PL for same day as ADR date( which was pointed out when I called to book BBB and she cancel it and waved the fee so no problem) but I did end up doing the ADR myself in the end

Lots of people have had good experiences with CL IPO's booking ADR's but I am glad I checked and would do it myself in future.
Good luck.

Oh I totally agree IPO is great to work with. My only point was if there's an ADR that you are unable to get yourself, IPO won't be able to magically get one for you.

Are you saying I will have access to the lounge until the end of the day I check out?! I assumed I would only get the continental breakfast on my check out day. Am I wrong about that? If I can go to a park and come back for an evening snack at the lounge after I check out, I am sold!

You absolutely can. I know a few DISers may have encountered some snags with this from misinformed CMs, but we have always been able to come back and chill in the lounge, grab snacks and drinks well after check out time. Which even means an extra SAB day if you book BC

I've had luck with this as well. We checked out and we went to the Four Seasons. That evening my mom had our kid, so DH and I went back to GF RPC for apps & wine as the beginning our date night. We didn't have issues using our magic band to access the floor via the elevator.

He would get along just fine with the Pas-lettes :)

Totally agree. I got CRT and bog as hadn't asked them to do the ones I felt would be difficult and got no problem- was on the computer at 11am( uk) on the dot!!!

Here at poly cl now and thought I'd post quickly while kids are sleeping. We arrived Tuesday and despite not getting connecting rooms (my only request!) we are extremely pleased!! Our rooms are at the end of the hall and very quiet. Staff has been wonderful! Rooms are very clean!! (Although the the tub faucet needs some caulking). Turn down every night and rooms clean when we get back from parks around 1pm. Offering have been plentiful. Cups are always full. We are encouraged to 'take more' and 'we are here to help you'. Got welcoming chocolates. We've been greater warmly every time we see a cast member. I was hesitant about cl after reading reviews. Well guess what - I am hooked! I don't know how we'll be able to stay non-cl now. Such a great convenience with little kids and grandparents.

That is great to hear and thank you for posting. Like you, I was getting worried. Have fun!

Thanks my friend  I think my Dh is more excited than I am. We haven't told the kids because hubby wants to be sure it "sticks"..he knows me so well. I do wish I could kidnap the BWI CL CMs and bring them to Poly for the week :)

I have a feeling it will stick and everyone will have a great time! LOL on wanting to kidnap the BWI CL CMs! I keep reading so many great things about BWI CL that I just might have to give it a try sometime ::yes::.

Okay CL veterans I need some advice! Finally took the plunge with the family to get BC CL this upcoming October. Sunday is our restaurant reservation day. I know the CL will book your dining for you though. So should I leave it in the hands of CL or do it myself Sunday morning?

I have never used IPO as I like booking everything myself, but I read a lot of positive reports about IPO being on top of things and doing a great job ;).

I would opt for a resort day with CL. We take a lot of breaks from the parks, two of my children are on the Autism Spectrum and just need the breaks. They would rather swim and go to the snack room (my kids term for the CL @pixarmom can relate :) ) And I am a believer in splurging on vacation when you can. Both BC and GF have decent snacks, GF even had chicken tenders for evening apps one night. Remember too you will have CL amenities for both your check-in day and check-out day so that may outweigh the QS dining a wee bit. Maybe consider it an anniversary gift to yourself

I agree :thumbsup2.

I'm an OCD planner too. Right now I can't even get my sister to commit what park she wants to do on her birthday and its driving me up a wall with trying to plan out dining. But my main wonder is if the IPO's will have better luck getting those hard to get ressies than I may have (ie CRT)...

As dansdad posted, IPO doesn't have any pull when it comes to getting those hard-to-get ADRs, so they have the same chance as you of getting what you want :).

Yes! As pas posted, you will have access to the lounge even after you check out :thumbsup2.

Thanks for checking in. Glad you're having a great time so far and enjoying Poly CL! Hope the rest of your trip is just as magical :wizard:.

Score one for IPO. When I struck out making a reservation for BOG, I sent them an email. Didn't see any results then last week when making Fastpass reservations I noticed a 6pm BOG appeared on the day we asked them to help.

Opinions please,
Is poly club level worth it for just 1 night? We'll be arriving around noon and checking out the next day to move to the GF.
We won't have park tickets for the first night so we'll spend most of our time at the pool or Disney Springs.

So I'm struggling to make a decision on whether or not to use IPO for our dining reservations. If I give them my selections well in advance of the 180 day mark, do they normally have issues getting reservations? Should I be online anyway when my dates open to get the tough ones (CRT, BOG...)? Just curious which route to take. We have a party of 5, so not the easiest number to seat.

If you stay at the hotel, possibly. If you spend the day/evening at Disney Springs, why bother?

Very pleased to read this -- thanks for taking the time to post! Poly CL is indeed very welcoming and never seems to restrict on the food or beverage. If you get a chance, please take some pics of the food in the lounge as inquiring minds always love to see pics!!

Enjoy your trip!
:)

I think it's worth it if you spend the day at Poly. Maybe have a pool day? Enjoy the snacks and drinks in the lounge, evening appetizers, adult drinks, desserts....cap off the night by watching Wishes and the water parade right from the Poly beach.

"Worth it" is pretty complicated but if you're staying around the hotel, I'd say yes, going to Disney Springs, probably not. Assuming you're going with your 2 year old? Poly CL is very convenient for moms and dads with the lounge and all... View of wishes, quick snacks, etc.

Very excellent report, glad all is awesome. I'm worried about getting connecting rooms, I hope hope hope I do but I try not to stress over it. Hope you are at least close by each other at least.

I think it might to, there is so much to look forward to and wonderful DISers to hang with. Definitely try BWI CL it is amazing, I can't even describe it!

I answered you over on the resort changers thread, so sorry if I repeat and/or contradict myself (I am also a changer...). So now that I see it will be a pool/Disney Springs day...I'd recommend BC standard. And instead of Disney Springs hitting the Boardwalk a little. Also I'd weigh the $ difference too, for under $100 I'd probably do Poly CL just to try it. Snacks, Wishes from the lounge, two pools, and then breakfast in the morning and then hop the monorail or walk to GF. Yep, I am even less help posting here ;) Worth it is difficult, money wise it's isn't worth it. But having a lounge to escape to and relax and decompress that first day...probably worth it. I just think the Epcot resorts are da bomb diggity, so it may be worth it to have a day there. Happy planning!

Thanks Pas!
With the deal we have Poly CL would be almost $200 more than the standard BC room. That's a lot of $$$
I think we're going to switch to the BC and enjoy SAB on our arrival day.
