Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I thought it was posted somewhere about the different room types for the BC CL thanks!! thinking positive so you still do room requests even if it is for CL?

Yes, you can have IPO add your Room requests or central reservations or your travel agent, if you are using one. We typically have our requests noted through central reservations and have them noted by IPO. :thumbsup2

Any suggestions on room requests for GF Sugar Loaf? Floor recommendations?

I prefer a high floor over ground, but that's just my personal preference. SL has two views, marina and courtyard, both of which are nice, IMO. We overlooked the marina which I loved, but I think overlooking the courtyard pool would be just as nice. Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

so you still do room requests even if it is for CL?

You can as CL can/does have different views, locations to the lounge, etc. As the pp said, you can have requests noted by central reservations, IPO, or both :).

I have a lot of questions. Any someone can answer is greatly appreciated.

I haven't been on The Dis since Jan 2014 except a quick peak. Feel free to direct me to correct thread, if I'm out of place. So glad to we are able to return to WDW after what seems forever!

I need some assuring me Contemporary CL is going to be great. We've stayed CL at AKL, BC and then our fave Poly many times. I was late reserving and only CL left was Contemporary Standard Atrium. We had decided Contemporary would be on list if we couldn't get Poly or BC, but I wanted TPV. It looks magical!
The CM who made the reservation said he would request a view of theme park from our standard room. I have no idea what that what be or the alternative.
What is a view of theme park from standard room?

I read the lounge balcony is nice for FIreworks, one of my favorite things about Poly--truly awesome. Is the lounge (and room for that matter) really noisy with all going on below?

We enjoy lounge offerings, breakfast is important but doesn't need to be extravagant. We have stayed Poly CL 5 or 6 times and early evening food offerings always meant a long line.
Not the case at BC or AKL. What about Contemporary?

The slide for the pool looks so fun! Getting to pool from Hawaii at Poly in swimwear was a breeze, what about Contemporary? Arcade seems very good with lots of games.

My son is now 18 (chronologically but 5-7 developmentally) with severe autism and other issues (reason for long break in trips-unable to travel). He doesn't like change and was disappointed we aren't staying at the "volcano pool". His favorite color is yellow, so I showed him the rooms have lots of yellow.
My numerous questions are just worry he'll have a really special time. He doesn't experience much happiness but he was always happy on past ftrps.

I did get an email from IPO the day after we booked, so that's a good sign! Are they pretty helpful? Personally, I'm excited to try someplace new.

Sorry for so many questions.

I can't comment on CR CL as we've never stayed there, but I am always reading positive reviews about it. If you haven't already, you might want to go over to the CR FAQ ( http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...wer-information-and-questions-thread.3248210/) as there is alot of great information on that thread, along with very friendly and informative posters should you have any questions :goodvibes.

As far as IPO, they are usually very helpful with anything you need, so don't hesitate to contact them :).

Which CL resorts have lounges that don't close? How about lounges that have meat:etc at breakfast? We need a spreadsheet comparing them all!! We're staying poly cl in 11 sleeps (first cl stay) but thinking ahead already to next year!!

Congrats on your first upcoming CL stay! GF RPC/SL, AKL CL, and WL CL have lounges that don't close. The food offerings finish at 10 pm, but the lounges overlook the lobbies (SL lounge is actually in the lobby of the SL building), so you are able to sit in each of those lounges anytime day or night. I'm not sure about WL and AKL CLs, but GF RPC and SL have some meats for breakfast :).

I'm new to CL service. Do I need to get ahold of an IPO or will they contact me? I placed a request when I called the Disney booking, will that be honored?

It's hit or miss with getting contacted from IPO as some people get an email after booking and some don't. If you don't hear from them, you can send them an email with your trip information, ADRs, requests, etc. Having your requests noted with central reservations is fine, but if you wanted to also give them to IPO, that's fine too as it never hurts to have them noted in both places ;).

We are trying GF RPC and Poly CL this year.

RPC is amazing, IMO! Hope you have a great time. We are trying Poly CL this year, too. We love the Poly, so I am excited about trying CL :goodvibes.

Did you speak with someone about this? I'm new to CL service. Do I need to get ahold of an IPO or will they contact me? I placed a request when I called the Disney booking, will that be honored?

I haven't had an email from the IPO so I'll email them nearer the time with our room request. I've also booked with my American TA who I use all the time so I'll also get her to make the request too.

CR CL is fabulous. We've stayed both TPW and lake view (standard) and loved them both. The offerings in the lounge were great - plenty of choice for breakfast and fabulous CMs. The view from the lounge across to MK is wonderful. The CR is my son's favourite hotel - he would stay here every trip!

Well, I noticed a week or so ago that there were TPV CL rooms available with our PIN code but couldn't quite pull the plug on it.... Went to look and they are now gone again and I am kicking myself! Oh well, stay indecisive long enough and it will be decided for you! :rotfl:

It's me again! So, this morning I have a negative report. Nothing huge, but would love some advice. Both last night and this morning I was woken up by a baby/child crying. Not a little bit of crying but screaming/howling that went on for a significant amount of time. Problem is I'm not sure what room it's coming from. I seriously think it may not be the room directly next to us. Which makes it even crazier to me that some one would allow their child to cry so loudly for so long!! Would it do me any good to say anything to the IPO CMs or should I just keep fingers crossed it doesn't keep happening? The thing is, there didn't "appear" to be any consoling going on for the upset child :(

Also, in a completely other topic- why do guests feel that they can leave all their dirty dishes, leftover food, etc in the hallway? !? This morning the room across from us even pulled their table (the one on wheels) out into the hall complete with garbage? !? Okay. Rant over:)

Hope you all have a great day!

I think a crying baby at Disney sort of goes with the territory. What exactly would you expect a CM to do if you told them? It's not like anything can be done. You have no idea what "soothing" was attempted. Some babies just cry like that unconsolably. Poor parents.

As for the dishes, the hall is EXACTLY where you are told to put out your room service cart when done. If it's not picked up, that's the resorts fault and I'd say something if it sat out for a lengthy amount of time.

Thanks for checking in! How much time do you have left of your trip? I believe they can switch your room for you if you explain about the noise. They can probably pinpoint which room the noise might be coming from and move you away from it. Sorry that's happening! I've been reading a few other comments about other resorts and dirty dishes in the hallways. Maybe it's a cutback category, I don't know... We've recently returned from GF RPC and the hallways were kept crazy clean our whole week. The only thing I noticed as glaring was all the dirty dishes on tables. At the end of our hall, there was a little sitting area and there were also always dirty dishes there and I'm wondering if that's where people set them rather than the hall. In any event, I agree it can be quite annoying when you're trying to step over a bunch of dirty dishes and old food! I usually try to find a spot in our room to keep dirty dishes. At the GF, it was on a shelf under the safe.

Have a wonderful day!!
:)

CR CL also doesn't close! I'm not sure but it seemed like the Poly CL didn't close either - at least we were always welcomed to come in and relax even between periods when food was served. perhaps the CM's were just super sweet, though!

YAY!!! WE LOVED the Poly CL last Jan. I am so happy for you that you will be trying it soon as well.
The convenience of Hawaii was perfect! We loved having the pool right next door. Actually, everything felt very close by. DH couldn't get his cappuccino as the machine was broken for our entire stay, otherwise it was wonderful.
PLUS, you are at the Polynesian!!! Life doesn't get any better than that, IMO. So relaxing, so peaceful.

I really don't know how to do a reply to a quote very well! LOL!

Sorry about the mixed up post above.

I have three kids, and I can remember nights where one of my babies would cry like that. There's not a lot you can do in a hotel room. At home you can walk with the baby to try to console them, sit in another part of the house and rock with them, or take them for a drive in the car. You don't have a lot of options in a hotel. Taking them out into the hallway would be worse. I know how awful the sound of a screaming baby is. It's one of those noises that you really can't ignore. Even though it's really annoying, I always feel a lot of compassion for mom and dad, because I remember how hard it is.

This is why I always bring ear plugs when I travel. They really do help blocking the worst of the noise. I like the idea of seeing if you can move away from that room, especially if you have a connecting door. Noise really comes through those like crazy.

The dirty dishes in the hallway would drive me crazy. I'd call housekeeping to report it every time I saw it - food and garbage in the hall will attract pests. Ugh.

Any suggestions on room requests for GF Sugar Loaf? Floor recommendations?

I would ask for a higher floor, as the ground floor can be very, very loud in the mornings. The top floor has dormer rooms, so if those bother you, ask for a middle floor. I actually didn't mind the dormer room, I liked not having anyone above me. Those rooms are slightly smaller, but they feel big due to the very high ceilings. You can't sit on the balcony and look out at the scenery, though - it's a solid wall. That was not a deal breaker for me, but it is for others.

I would go nutzo too if I was woken by a crying baby and it didn't stop. They can probably move you. Good luck!

Hi all, it's our ADR day on Saturday. I have asked the ipc at AKL to make some of our dining and activities but am keeping some( CRT, bog, Bbb) as really want to know I tried my hardest to get these ( and then I can only blame myself! ) if I see the others( that I have asked ipc to do) at the time we want before I hear back from the ipc- should I book them? Or will this cause issue when they try to do them( I would email them to tell them but there is a chance they may not read it before attempting)?
This is probably just ADR nerves but would appreciate views/ experience.
Many thanks
Ruth

Hi! Please don't fret - CR CL is going to be AMAZING! My family loves the CR CL - so far it's probably our favorite CL; we stayed at Poly CL last summer and while we enjoyed both we couldn't help comparing.

First of all, the view is amazing from CR, there really isn’t anything like it. You’ll be able to look out to the MK from the lounge, and definitely see fireworks from the balcony there or even sitting inside the lounge itself at night. My boys liked to watch the monorail form there, too. You do have to look across the CR parking lot, but if I’m looking out I see the MK and it is magical. If you have a standard room that means you’ll be facing the lake, which is a great a view, too, because you’ll get to see the electrical water parade at night. And, you can’t see the lake from the club since it only faces the MK, so if you have a standard room you can appreciate both views :D

The lounge itself is a good size, I believe it's the size of two CR rooms complete with balcony for fireworks viewing. Food offerings are set up on a long counter on the left side, you’ll find coffee there, too. Cold beverages and evening cocktails are on a counter on the opposite side leaving plenty of space for everyone to get around. I felt like the way the Poly CL is set up it does get congested because of the island; the CR lounge feels more open and lines were not so long, or not at all!

As for sound traveling up, you will hear light sounds in the lounge, but the CL is quite high up and all the hustle and the bustle of the CR seems very far away. We found our room to be very quiet - and we were in the room right next to the prep kitchen for the lounge!

One thing we really like about the CR lounge is that it is all on the same floor as the rooms. The IPOs are right there as you walk off the elevator and just across the hall from the club; I found it much more convenient to go to them for help then I did with the IPO at the Poly. And we found the CR CL staff to be very friendly - if there is anything you need, just ask and they will try to help you with it!

You asked about pool time. You take the elevator down to the lobby and walk out the back to the pool. You do have to walk through the back of the resort to get to the pool but it is not as busy as the front and the pool is right there. Pool games were very fun for my boys.

I hope that helps! We really loved CR and my kids keep asking to go back, hopefully you guys will come away with a similar appreciation :) Have a magical trip!

It wasn't a room service cart. It was a table from the actual room. I guess I'm in the minority, but I've been returning our dirty dishes to the lounge when we're through.

I spoke to a very nice CM earlier down in the IPO and she was able to offer us a room change. She said the only other option was to call security to report the noise which I really didn't want to do. I have three children and obviously know how challenging calming a crying baby can be!

I have had a bit of experience with this. It is really hard with small children in an unfamiliar location, so I feel for those parents. Once when we were checking in, we got to the room and in the connecting room next door someone was trying to put someone down for an afternoon nap. We knew right at that point that most likely that room wasn't going to work for us. We called the front desk gave them the background on the situation and they were more than happy to move us to another room. The only thing with that is if the resort is full you might not get the view you intended. The CMs were very accommodating and it ended up the room we moved to was very nice.

Yes, exactly this. I think as parents we all understand the baby situation. Heck, I have twins and started taking them to Disney at 7 months old, so I truly do understand from the parent side of things :). But I agree the CM's are very accommodating in changing your room and that would be what I would do as well! Good luck and enjoy the rest of your trip! Thanks for checking in with us again!

Hi! Long time reader, first time posting

Right now we are staying BC/CL with a water view 9/3-/9/10. We are a family of four (two adults, DD 7 and DS 3) and we have stayed at POFQ, Pop, and SSR in the past. I'm a little nervous to be staying so far away from MK. Looking into GF/SL and it would be about $600 more for the trip. Right now we are planning on purchasing the 4 day military tickets and going to the MNSSHP one night. We plan on breaks during the day to swim/nap and one resort day. Is the switch to GF worth it? I'm worried about GF being a little to reserved for my sweet but energetic 3 year old.

What is the club level like for BC?
I'd appreciate any advice you have!

We have had a similar history to yours for where we have stayed on our trips. I think the bigger question for you is whether the accommodations at the CL are what you are looking for, for the price. For us, we first stayed at BC for the pool. I have to say is the first time we stayed there in a non-CL room was one of the best trips we ever had because of the pool. The afternoon activity CMs at the pool have the kids in the shallow area of the pool and they dance and play it is fantastic. I even got to read more than one page in my book. The kids loved it!

On another trip, we were upgraded to the GF. It is beautiful resort, however we did not enjoy the the pool area as much. It is true trip to the MK is longer from BC and usually very busy in the mornings. So, I would recommend to take into account what your family like to do best. For our family those afternoon breaks at the pool make our trips.
