Wow this is really upsetting! We have always used the BWI lounge before our late flight and plan on doing it again this March. I will let you all know what happens.Hi all! So we are staying kilamanjaro Club at AKL right now. I was just checking with concierge to make sure we could use the lounge until midnight on our checkout day, and was told that it used to be that way but is no longer . They said if I want to use the lounge after 11 AM on our checkout day that I shouldn't leave. That once we leave we will not be allowed back up Thoughts?
Blah blah blah, I don't believe that CM for one second. I've never been thrown out of a lounge at 11:00 AM, or even witnessed anyone being asked to leave. The lounge CMs don't know who is checking out on which day. How would they know??? Telepathy???
Now I do believe they could deactivate Magic Bands for accessing the elevator and/or locked CL door to the lounge. I could see that happening. So people who leave in the morning wouldn't be able to get back to the lounge that evening for apps. It's never happened to me personally because once I pack up and leave I don't go back later in the day. But I know it's always been a popular perk for folks flying home late. I would just straight out tell the CM at the desk the day before checkout that you have a late flight the next day and need access to the lounge. If they say no I would ask to speak to a manager.
It might be a case where they have asked the CMs to test the waters with telling people lounge access ends at 11:00 AM. To me it's no different than using other hotel amenities like the pool. Lots of people swim after they checkout. Are they going to take that away too?

Let's hope not. We have often needed to stay at a hotel for several hours after checkout due to flight times and have never had an issue with using a concierge lounge or a swimming pool ever (including quite a few non-Disney hotels). It's not common practice to kick guests out at 10 or 11am.![]()
Please see my post right above yours.
I was told the same thing back in Oct. about AKL CL. However, it was not correct at all, we used to lounge the whole next day and again in Dec. Was the guy named Tim that told this to you? I double checked with a manager both times and they said yes, you have full access until midnight. AKL has some new people, that I believe just didn't get trained well. I miss Don, I haven't seen in up there in a while but maybe we just always miss him but he was fantastic. Maybe I'm a bit partial because we share the same birthday. Anyways, I to believe wdwloverz you got told some bad info. Let us know if you talk to a manager and he confirms what you've been told.
We stayed at BC CL last July. The CMs will get you a beer in the afternoon. My husband and I enjoyed the lounge and the CMs were happy to get us a beer anytime. Have a great trip!We are staying at BC CL. I know they put out beer during a certain time. My husband likes to have one in the afternoon. Will they give you one during the afternoon? I am new at CL so trying to read up on everything.

dsnylovr thanks for that info! At this point I may let a manager know this is going on but as for tomorrow we made other plans and would now be charged if I tried to cancel them!
To clarify, it wasn't just one CM in the Kilimanjaro club lounge today that told us this. It was three different CM"s!!! I initially asked one behind the concierge desks and was told no access would be given once we left the 6th floor after 11am. I explain to him that this was not what I understood or had read, and he told me that access used to be until midnight but it now ended at checkout. He said if we wanted access after 11 AM then we shouldn't leave the sixth floor. I couldn't believe this and so later asked another CM who was working the floor in the lounge and he said he wasn't sure. So he went to another CM behind the concierge desks and came back with the same info I was given by the first person behind the concierge desk. Hope all this makes sense. I feel pretty disgusted with it all at this point and certainly don't feel very welcome
