Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I booked the Poly club level months ago and we arrive on Aug 24th. I have not heard from the concierge people. Is this normal?
Last yr, we had an email from them with in 24 hours of booking. This year we are staying BC. I didn't get anything. I did email them several months after booking for a tee time and they did it for me.

I agree with the PPs. Many people will be contacted, some will not.... for reasons only Disney IT knows I guess. :-)

I've received phone calls for most, but not all, of the reservations I've made this year. I received a post-card for the first time last week.

Don't worry about not being contacted.... feel free to reach out to them if you need anything:

Have fun at Poly CL!

DH and I just booked WL CL to celebrate our anniversary in September! We haven't been back to the WL CL since our honeymoon 13 yrs ago. We are very partial to BWI CL, so I admit if that opens, we will switch, but for now, I am excited to be going back to WL. We visit WDW a few times per year, but have not had an adults only trip since I was pregnant with DD 10 yrs ago. We're super excited, but shhh, don't tell our kids we're heading to the world without them ;)

Hope you have a great anniversary trip :wizard:.

There seems to be no set procedure.

I agree with both of the above ;).

Speaking of the "postcard" from DSS..... for those curious or those who have never received one, here's what they look like. Sorry the paper is a little bent... I thought it was Disney junk-mail at first and it was 5 seconds away from the shredder!

I asked DSS about whether or not there would be turndown service for our upcoming BC CL stay today. This is the response I got:

After speaking with our resort partners at Disney's Beach Club Resort, they no longer have their turndown service. If this is something that you would prefer to have for your stay, I would speak with the Front Desk Cast Members to see if is a possibility. Please be advised that the turndown service cannot be guaranteed as it is no longer available.

I wrote them and told them that as we are planning a lot of resort time, and as it was one of the amenities that were listed when we booked and paid and still showing on the website, we would like to have turndown. We will see!

Damn it, they start messing up with the turndown again? Remember last year when they mysteriously made turndown “opt-in” at the AKL. Now this time is worse since the “opt-in” does not appear a possibility any longer…

Thanks for this info. Seeing more and more of this chatter around DIS over the last few weeks. So far I think just at BC/YC, but maybe others? Disney seems to bubble this up every once in awhile... last time it was AKL if I'm not mistaken. I have very rarely ever complained to a manager or in writing about anything, but this is something that would really irk me to the point of writing a nasty-gram (in a polite way of course).

I was polite but firm that I wasn't happy about losing an amenity that we paid for at this late stage. I sold four other families on BC CL so I'm annoyed for all of us traveling together.

Turndown is common in upscale hotels, not just for the concierge/CL rooms. I feel like they are trying their best to raise prices and at the same time cut back on services. We stayed at the BC CL in May and only had turndown one night out of four. We did complain, but it took until the last night for them to actually do anything about it. We then moved to the GF (RPC) and had turndown there every night.

I also don't like that I have to complain myself and speak to the front desk. I feel like DSS should register my complaint for me.

Maybe you did already but I'd send an e-mail to Guest Services as well... I don't have that e-mail handy but I see it referenced around DIS a lot.

We got one of those for an upcoming stay. I was SO excited that it was a PIN. Only to be let down. :jester: Nice heavy paper though.

I would ask. I would have printed proof to show them or have your phone with it ready to show them. Maybe they will offer you something small like some treats from the shop? If you don't ask/inform them they won't know to fix it for others too.

Good luck!

Have they discontinued turndown service at all of the resorts CLs?? If so, this is a really bad move. We're checking into the Polynesian CL next week. I want my turndown service!!!! :crutches::sad2::confused3

The only affirmative recent reports I've seen seem to be BC/YC, I think. Someone posted a thread on a similar topic here and you can see a sampling of responses which seem to be status quo at some other places: Club Level Turndown Service?

I wonder if this is one of those random cost savings cut backs that will magically reappear after then end of their fiscal year (9/30).
