Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

For something so important, I have no doubt that they would take very good care of your dad :). Just email DSS in advance so you have a paper trail and they will guide you from there!
Dumb question, what is DSS?
Sorry, I'm new

Has anyone stayed at the Beach Club recently that wouldn't mind sharing a review? We've (DH, myself and DS2) have never stayed Club Level before and I'm excited to try it in September. I'm curious about the food and drink offerings, and if they have water/drinks you can take with you. Our son goes through about two gallons of milk a week so I'm hoping we can use the lounge for that as well as taking water to the parks. And as far as food, are you expected to eat in the lounge or can you take stuff back to your room? Any other info would be appreciated as well, thank you!

I can't help with specifics about BC CL, but I know you can take food out of the lounge/back to your room. Hopefully others will post specifics about the food offerings/drinks :).

One month today we check into RPC at the GF! So excited:) We've stayed at the GF before and loved it but this is our first time staying club level at any resort.

To get me even more excited for our trip, would anyone who has stayed at RPC tell me what you just loved about it? I know it's pricey but many of you keep coming back. Just wanted to hear what makes it so wonderful!

RPC is amazing, you're going to love it! I love RPC as the food offerings are good, it's relaxing sitting in the lounge listening to the band play, the CL CMs are amazing, and the views from the lounge are beautiful. Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

Not a dumb question and no apology needed. DSS stands for Disney Signature Services (previously called IPO). It's a service provided for CL guests if they want/need someone to book ADRs, answer questions, note requests, etc. Usually you will get an email from them prior to your stay, but if not, you can always contact them with whatever you might need :).

I've only been to RPC once but one small thing that I realy liked about RPC is how Mousekeeping puts out baskets with the fresh linens outside of the rooms every day as they go about servicing the rooms. Sounds snooty but it's just a nice, classy touch. Contrast that to somewhere like Poly where the halls are packed with those clunky/ugly carts most of the day. I joked that the GF Mousekeepers were like magic - I hardly ever saw them/their carts at all, but our room was always impeccably serviced with perfect timing.

Hope you have a great trip! :-)

How is Sugar Loaf ? I've only had CL once and that was RPC years ago.

Also, how are the garden views in Sugar Loaf?

I didn't really become active around here until after they upgraded the software to this current version, so I don't really know much about the photo bucket thing. But when I post pics, I use the "Upload a File" button below and do it that way. Super easy either from my ipad or if I'm on the computer. I've never posted a photo any other way.

Thanks. I find this is the esiset method since I store my pics on the computer. But when ever I've tried I get a message saying file to large. I don't know how to resize them so that's why I used photobucket. I saw info on here someplace a few years a ago how to post photos.

vikster1 - I quit using Photobucket about 6 months ago; I am now using Google Photos. Just this week I logged into my Photobucket account, attempting to find photos from a 2013 cruise, and the site was so full of ads and messages that I needed to upgrade for $2.49 a month -- It was almost impossible to use! I'm not sure why your account was deactivated, but I'm sure mine will be soon. I think "free" with them is quickly becoming a thing of the past.
Yes, the ads were relentless. I have pics in my google photos. I now can't figure out how to get the link to put in a post.

I'm going to keep trying to figure this out so I can post more pics. So frustrated.

The food offerings are the same in both, but the lounges are worlds apart. The SL lounge is small/not as spread out as RPC and since it's located in the center of the SL lobby, there are no windows/views. I don't find SL to be very relaxing as it has more of a cafeteria-like atmosphere to me, while RPC is much more relaxing and quiet.

Room views in SL are either of the courtyard pool or the marina, both of which are very nice, IMO. We had a view of the marina and I loved it, but I wouldn't mind a view of the courtyard as that is pretty as well.

Ok, yeah I'm not crazy about the SL lounge. However, I'm wondering if I need the DSS so if we book buffet ADRs my father can have his plated in the back? Since he shouldn't eat from buffets as he's a kidney transplant patient. And maybe the views are a bit nicer even with a bottom level (garden?) room. And then could grab drinks like water for the Littles easily?

Oh, please share! I hear ya, when my first born turned 3 BOoM! I'm gonna have A 6,3 and 1 year old.
I'm thinking Disney coloring pages so far.

Well, this will probably sound terrible, but LOLLIPOPS!!!! If we need him to sit, we give him a little lollipop LOL. Also, we are bring small coloring books, his tablet, other snacks, etc...

I would definitely contact DSS. I think calling would be better than emailing as it's probably easier actually talking to someone and explaining the situation rather than explaining in an email.

As far as views, I don't think there are any bad views. I (personally) prefer an upper floor, but ground floor might work better for you if you will be frequenting the lounge a lot, might make it easier being ground level.

It's good to note with DSS that someone in your party has a specific issue when it comes to dining. But...you should also make sure to relay that info to the restaurant when you check in for your ADR; they'll often send a chef out to make sure you're taken care of. Also, are you planning only on eating at buffets? Wouldn't traditional table service make things easier for you?

It would to an extent except we have little ones with us and the "entertainment" meals we are looking at are pretty much buffets. And I'm sure my parents would want to join.

Got it! In that case, definitely let the restaurant staff know about your father's needs - they're always more than happy to make your experience magical. pixiedust:

Do you think if we didn't get club level the buffets would plate in the back? Just trying to search our options.

While I don't personally have dining issues, I have read numerous accounts of how well Disney treats guests with food allergies or who need special considerations during meals. It honestly has nothing to do with whether or not you stay CL; Disney really does go above and beyond to make sure you have a positive dining experience. Again, it's more important to communicate your needs to cast members at the individual restaurants than have it noted on a reservation - those requests can get lost in the shuffle. I also recommend starting a thread on the Disney Restaurants board; I'm sure lots of folks can chime in and be more helpful that I can. :)

Like the PP mentioned, WDW is good with food needs. I honestly do not think that staying CL would affect this in any way. I would make sure you have them note it on your reservation and then discuss it again when you are at the restaurants. Also, there are some character meals that are not buffets and you might want to check them out too.
