We also drink a lot of water when it is warm.
If I may, I suggest you also buy a six pack of electrolyte water. We only drank regular water until the 3rd day, but quickly noticed a difference after we had some of the electrolyte water.
It might be a convention hotel, but allowing rowdy guests to bother your highest paying people is inexcuseable. And I just saw that Night of Joy was a Christian concert!? What happens on Hell's Angels night? The Contemporary is a convention resort. They have plenty of rooms for parties. They must have just gone what was easy and thought other guests would have to just deal with it.
I hope things settle down and guests have a nice experience from here on out.
It probably doesn't matter what the group is, it's how the resort handles it.It might be a convention hotel, but allowing rowdy guests to bother your highest paying people is inexcuseable. And I just saw that Night of Joy was a Christian concert!? What happens on Hell's Angels night?![]()
Thanks for your post.Electrolyte water's contain sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium which replenish what you lose through perspiration. It helps your body recover in the heat or after exertions such as sports or exercise. One of the best known brands here in Canada (and I suspect in the US as well) is Smart Water. Another containing naturally occurring electrolytes is (my fav) Fiji Water.
Believe it or not, chocolate milk is a great source of electrolytes as well.![]()
Thanks for your post.I never knew this about Fiji water. I usually only buy a bottle when I'm traveling, it tastes great to me.
I just returned from a long weekend at the Poly CL, please feel free to ask any questions you may have!
Hello from WDW! Checked into CR CL (Atrium Club/12th Floor) earlier today for a long weekend, will only be here through Monday. This is our second CR CL stay, the first was Dec 14.
Had a great check-in experience. I actually did online check in this time (first time I've done it, frankly have never been that comfortable with the concept), got my room text & e-mail while I was on the plane (was around 4PM). I knew I could have just gone straight up to the room and bypassed everyone but I played dumb and stopped in the lobby and told them I was checking in CL. Wonderful CM pulled up my reservation and actually acknowledged me as a repeat CL guest (a first for us). She called up to let them know we were on our way and personally escorted us up to the 12th floor. The CL CM was waiting at the elevator, escorted us to our room, made sure out magic bands worked, gave us a rundown of the lounge, showed us a few features in the room (fridge, safe, basic things), even told us what time Wishes was tonight and what channel to turn to for the audio. All of this was stuff I already pretty much knew anyway, but it was a nice touch.
For room requests, had requested the north end of the building (which is closest to MK, away from Chef Mickey's) as my first priority and odd numbered room as second priority. I got both, so happy camper here.
Evening appetizers were decent. Not GF or BC quality, but better than Poly. Reasonable variety. Whoever stocks the alcohol must not be a beer drinker. You can't stand up bottles in an inch of ice and expect it to be cold. Boo.
Overall WDW feels pretty dead! Did standby 7DMT tonight with a 20 minute wait. That's unheard of in my world (never even been in the standby line on that ride!)
Here are some quick room pics. Haven't kept up with the latest at this resort. Beds seem different, last time we had big round yellow accent pillows. No CL welcome packet, just that note on the bed (which frankly is fine with me).

I now get the appeal of the odd numbered rooms.

dd21 loves to get her cl dessert and then snuggle in her bed with that view!
YAY for disneyplanning! It has been a while for you so you must be so excited!!No questions, just wanted to say I hope you had a great time. We love the Poly and are planning to try CL next year.
OH interesting! When we were there the end of July I showed one of the cl cm's at the desk(in hawaii) that the email they send out says that you get escorted and yet they don't. I told them I was a regular and just walked over myself and used my MB to get in but that new guests would certainly be annoyed with the miscommunication.Arrived home last night from ten glorious days at the Poly. Trip report is coming but I wanted everyone to know that between checking in and checking out, a CL only check-in desk has been added in the lobby. It helps to make up for not being greeted on arrival, IMO. A pic of the desk is attached!
We had that room too! Loved the location! We were in room 4429! It was a king room. My only requests were 4th floor, king room so I got exactly that. We liked out
Happy Saturday Morning!
I am debating a short 3 or 4 day visit the beginning of November just for some downtime and relaxation (no parks but probably check out Disney Springs.) My favorite BWI is not available and we stayed AKL in July so I am falling back to Mono Rail resorts.
I am looking at Poly for the Hawaii location. Does Poly still have cabanas? Are food offerings worth the extra expense? It is DH's turn to pick the resort and he's pushing for a cruise (which his schedule won't permit until spring!). So I guess I'm looking for recent opinions of GF Poly and WL (DH favorite and I love visitng the horses!) Our neighbor is building a house next to us so I'm not worried about WL contruction
Thanks for any advice! Enjoy yourselves if you are there now and enjoy planning if you're not!!
Liz
If I had to pick a hotel to relax in it would be the Poly. We just got back and wish we were there. Watching wishes and the Water pageant from the beach is wonderful. The Hawaii building is the best location for that. The food offerings are good at the Poly. We think the CL is worth especially if you are not doing the parks and have time to spend there. We also love all the restaurants at the Poly. Kona has one of the best breakfast and for reasonable prices. We also love Ohana. I am dreaming of the Poly. Enjoy where ever you go.
You're right, I remember the yellow pillows as well. We're staying Bay lake side in the main building next month, pickings were very slim, that was the only room available with AP rate. I'm thinking about coming down next weekend so we can do MSEP one last time but there's very limited availability then as well.
@GADisneyDad14 Thanks for the pictures. I feel like those were our rooms. We checked out last week from rooms 4843 and 4844. Great rooms and a great view. It feels like you can touch Space Mountain. The view from the CR is like no other. We agree that the food (especially breakfast) is much better than the Poly. Enjoy the weekend - we wish we were still there.
