Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I have a couple questions (:

I have a split stay between AKL CL and CR Tower Club [3/2]. I will be checking out of AKL at 11, then driving over to the CR. Since I am so early I know my room may not be ready for awhile. Will someone still meet me outside to bring me up like they have done at WL/AKL? At AKL do they still do this? I have read reports of people having to go find someone or stand in the normal line for check in. I have previously just told the security/ID check person coming in that I am staying CL, and then someone was always there out front to help me check in by the time I was there. Also, is there anything specific about going from CL to CL I should know?

Also, is it normal for IPO to not handle private dining requests? I asked to have two of the Cinderella's slipper desserts ordered for my CR room one night, and was basically brushed off and emailed that I need to call private dining to do it myself. I know it isn't a big deal, but with the steep price of CR CL it was a little off-putting.

Can IPO book your initial FP reservations as well? They didn't have me fill out anything about FP requests on the form they sent me.

I had the same experience with private dining. I emailed GF IPO with questions and they gave me the name and email address for the woman at GF who handles PD. She was extremely helpful, but I agree I thought the IPO staff would have handled the request for info. But, I guess they are two different departments and so you have to work directly with the PD office yourself.

Maybe it's coincidence but last year I had ordered a glass slipper and IPO said they took care of it....I gave them my credit card and everything. I even mentioned it when I checked in, so imagine my surprise when we got in the room and no slipper. When I went to the concierge he said they didn't know what I was talking about and I had no notes on my reservation. Then he asked me for proof that I had spoke to IPO about it.....I was getting pretty upset at this point. So I go grab my phone and show him the email that said the request and the response that said ok I'll take care of that. The CM said well they're not supposed to do that but we'll make it right. They brought a really nice basket for me and a bucket full of candy for my DD, which is whom the slipper was intended for. It was nice that they tried to make it right but I didn't like the interrogation that I had to go through. They acted like I was some crazy person that totally made the chocolate slipper up. I heard the CM and manager talking about how they need to be clear about not having IPO take those requests. I guess they got the message.

That would upset me as well!!! At least they tried to make it up to you and are doing a better job telling customers they can't arrange those type of requests and are referring people to the right staff.

The bucket of candy is nice but did you ever get a chocolate slipper??

No, I never got the slipper! I swear they didn't believe that it was a real thing!!! I even showed the CM a picture and he just gave me this really skeptical look.
I made sure that I didnt get charged for it either.

Oh oh......I guess I should have a Plan B in my head.... I had never had success in the past requesting IPO to assist with birthday surprises, but for our upcoming trip IPO emailed me different ideas along with prices for each. Now maybe it's different in my case because mine is just a simple in-room surprise from PD. I guess I'll find out next week! In my case, it's not a big deal, but in your case I can certainly see how that would've been a big deal -- sorry that happened:sad1:. I plan to confirm with the CM when I can get to the desk without DH. If there are no records, then we'll just come up with something else -- his bday isn't until the tail end of our trip so there's time for us...

This is great! Do you know if the 4th has to be for the same park?

I only tried this once -- our situation was that we were at MK all day and actually used a 4th FP there. Then we went back to BC for the evening appetizers and some pool time. While at the pool, I decided to text and ask for a FP for Test Track. I believe the CM would've given us one except that it was during EMH and there are no FP's during that time frame. So I'm thinking it might work and am going to try it next week! There isn't much chatter on this service here on the DIS, so it's hard to know many facts quite yet.

I booked WL CL last week. I did call IPO shortly after with a dining question. She asked me no questions or anything and I've not gotten any email. Should I've getting something from them? I keep hearing about emails and questionnaires.

Every time I've booked WL CL, I've gotten the email around 3-4 weeks before I arrived. I've only once received a questionnaire when I stayed at the GF CL and I got that somewhere around 3-4 weeks before I arrived. The other times when I booked the GF CL, I received just an email around 2-3 weeks before I arrived.
I've never gotten an email right after I booked CL.
After I make my CL reservation, I like to email IPO with my name, reservation number, dates I'm staying in the subject title and introduce myself and make any room requests I have. :)

So excited to be staying club level at the Boardwalk Inn (Nov 7-11 2015) and the Beach Club (Nov 11-15 2015)!
We stayed club level for the first time last November at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and WE WERE HOOKED!

I didn't even get the contact info or a name for private dining from them lol. I mean, I found it, but I was annoyed. It's not a huge deal at all (did it myself) and I probably sound like a picky brat, but I just wish it would have been handled better for what CL costs.

I got an email a few weeks after I booked, just welcoming me to the CL, and offering me a phone # and email in order to ask for special requests/reservations. I didn't get any sort of "form" that others here have spoken about, so I'm not sure if that's a bad thing? :confused3

Ironically the only GF CL room available was the RPC Deluxe King which I would never book again. Views are totally awesome but the proximity to the lounge is awful!

They REALLY need to make the Deluxe king turret rooms a bookable category! We have always been lucky enough to get one, but I'm always scared they'll try to stick me on the second floor!

The form asks for general contact info, members of the party staying, arrival and departure times, special occasions, has a place to list dining requests, places to request tickets for La Noubla, dinner shows, etc. We received ours a week or two after booking as well as the welcome letter. Our stay at BC last year we did not get the questionnaire but we went through a TA. Also didn't receive it from AKL but did get the welcome letter. Have gotten the letter from BC & WL for our stay this summer. Guess it's really hit or miss!

Re. AKL CL (non DVC) I know the rooms are on the 4th floor but which trail are they on? Also, are the rooms closer to the lobby or right at the end of the trail with a long hike? Thanks

I don't find the form helpful, so I don't use it.

What I do is email the IPO when we make our reservations, including our last name and reservation # in the subject line.
If it's close to when the ADR requests need to be in, I include those requests in the email.
Some reservations require a credit card hold, so I mention I'll be calling to give them that info over the phone.
If you have specifics like a special celebration or other request, you can mention those too.
Finally I include our flight info, how we'll be arriving and an approximate time.

Hope you have a wonderful WL vacation:goodvibes!

Thanks! :)

I did respond to the email with my information and requests, and I ended up calling with my CC info for a tour. I was worried that it was important to fill out the form, but it sounds like it's all information that I've already provided :thumbsup2

Ok club level lovers, I'm in need of a little help. I'm going to squeeze in a short trip in September and am trying to decide which resort has the best club level. We stayed last year for the first time in club level and really enjoyed it. We choose YC for the awesome pool, but would like to try something different this time. I'm leaning towards BW or CR. AKL, WL, and GF are all options as well.

Just bumping and looking for a few more opinions...thanks!
