Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Also it is not even listed in the main stream https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ site relating to Special Offers (Discounts) . There are only a couple of mentions as questions for PlanDisney content.

I think those are just excuses. And bouncebacks have never been mentioned on the special offers page. Every guest on property is eligible. We have no idea how many actually are calling to inquire or book. But it certainly could be a high percentage. Maybe if they can’t get CMs trained on the offer in over a year they should bring back the dedicated BB team.

Even making the inital call to get a BB can be painful. I cannot imagine what it's going to be like when I try to move my 2025 booking. Seems like you have to proceed with extreme caution.
The bulk of my calls were circular conversations on why I should book my rooms as a package even when I vehemently refused to have the package. I may let the current BB expires since I can't deal with another "package" discussion.

Same, package was pushed as well as dining plan. They must get incentives.
I find the calls to be unnecessarily long. The couple of times that I called, they push you to continue to talk to them. They ask you numerous questions to keep dragging along the conversation, even when we are done with business. I assume looking for ways to upsell.

Is this your first time to Disney? What brings you to Disney? Have you stayed at this resort before? What do you like best about the resort? Do you need tickets? That’s great you have an annual pass. I see you’re a DVC Member too. Thanks for being a DVC member and AP holder! What parks do you plan on visiting? How many days are you going to do at each park? I see you have another trip right after this trip! How exciting! Do you need tickets for that trip? Do you have MDE? Do you know you can make dining reservations 60 days in advance? Are you celebrating anything? Who will be joining you on this trip? Do you plan on playing mini golf?! Etc…

I’ll answer the questions, I don’t like to be rude, I know they are just doing their job. However, I try to make my replies as brief as possible.

On one of the calls, I thought we had agreed on NOT booking the package, yet during the summary before getting my credit card info, the CM quickly mentioned about the $200 prepayment. I told her again that I wanted to pay upfront one night for the resort only. She then questioned why anyone would want to pay the full amount for one night if only $200 was required. Finally she put me on hold and didn't come back for a while, so I just hung up.

Well since she could not sell you on a package she had to back out the package to rebook as a Room Only (RO) reservation after switching systems and the applying your one night deposit / full cost since you were booking only 1 night.

It takes time for the CM to switch systems due to the different terms and conditions.

Supposedly their computer 'loads slowly'. On my last few chats I have said, 'I prefer not to chat'. Yes, it's awkward, but I think it's more awkward telling them my personal business. :D

Most of the chat questions are cringey. They need better scripts.

ps you got all the questions summarized! You could work at reservations with no additional training

I have a split stay in Aug - AKL MYOCL (sweet AP rate) and CR CL (rack rate, bleah). I am fully calling Disney to try to get my CR room adjusted as BB rate when I’m there!!!

Also, reminding everyone, even if your dates aren’t set in stone yet, book the BB! Grab something, because once you have it, you can change it! I let one go a while ago and am still kicking myself.

I've never done BB before but I'm hoping and praying I can get it for next year's trip esp. since we will have a dear friend coming with us.

Can you hold 2 BBs at once? I was hoping we could get one from our pre-cruise non CL stay at GF to apply to our Poly CL night post cruise pending availability ofc. And then using the Poly stay to BB for our big trip next year.

Yes, I am doing that right now. Two rooms for one trip, one room for another trip. Booked on our May trip.

It could also be a metric on their QA evaluations...sometimes it's not carrot, but stick. They could very well be dinged for not asking these things, I wouldn't put it past Disney. A lot of call centers focused on service-to-sales are like that, where agents are basically forced to upsell. Years and years ago I worked for a Big Bank's credit card division as a service-to-sales rep and we had to upsell on ID protection, etc. I didn't mind that. But I was dinged for refusing to push home equity loans. I couldn't do it in good conscience given the script we were given that basically had us talking them up like they were ATMs for things like vacations and cars. My supe was understanding, he thought it was slimy too, but he still had to write me up for it or else he'd get written up. Hilariously this was just before the big financial crisis from subprime mortgages.

😂 I called a handful of times, since my trip in April, and literally that was the same set of questions each time. I understand if their computer is “slow” or they’re looking up the dates, but sometimes the questions even came after the fact!! I thought we were done?! I didn’t call to BS, just want to give you my money and go about the rest of my day! lol

Disney call center training is big on rapport with guests, iirc from many moons ago. I went through it because I serviced their credit cards for a while, despite not working directly for them, and it's so funny calling reservations or recreation knowing how the sausage gets made so to speak. I try not to give them a hard time about it, because I remember what it was like, but I always have to suppress laughter at it. You can definitely tell who the new ones are too because they're not nearly as subtle about making small talk to cover dead air.

I don't think there is a limit on the number of res you can make. There may, however, be a limit in terms of how much time and sanity you want to sacrifice on the phone ;).

Love all the pics. Hope you are having a great stay. Are the parks busy? Is the lounge busy?
I suppose the word “busy” can be different to different people, but it doesn’t seem overly busy, in general. We’ve visited during the same time the last 2 years and this year feels less busy to me. Of course, there are some rides that are busy every day of the year.
