Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

You just have to make the reservation either while you are onsite or within 7 days of your checkout. I’m sorry you got such bad information. 😕

That’s one of those situation where I politely hang up and call back to get a different CM.
I'm no stranger to politely saying thank you (with an eye roll) and calling back when I suspect they are wrong. I guess this is my fault for not knowing all of the finer details. I had never bothered with BB offers in the past because they had to be done by check out day, which I found inconvenient. It was that seven day window that enticed me to call in to do it and I was really excited about the offer I "had".

Ugh, sorry. Were your new dates included in the BB offer dates? Or maybe there was no availability for your room type under the BB promo?
Yes, the new dates are included and it is possible the room type I wanted is booked for those dates. (I'm sure you know the Tower Club floor is pretty limited.) But if that was the case I wish I had known that I could at least have the option of a different room type, another deluxe resort, or even kicking the offer down the road to a later trip.

Really sorry that happened. I hope another discount comes out for your dates. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

And yea, sometimes the Tower Clb is hard. We have a stay there in September, I was lucky to get a 10% discount.

She said there were no changes allowed outside of the seven day booking period of the qualifying trip. I tried to make the change about six weeks later.
OK it has been quite confusing for Guests and CM still have not got all the kinks out just yet. Although is has been almost a year since the BB Offers returned in 2023 after being stopped at the start of the Covid Pandemic.

Well it can be confusing since the BB offers have different rules vs all the other offerings.

The Tower Club is really a limited offering as @focusondisney mentioned unless you want a Suite. There are only 2 King rooms both are TPV and 3 Queen rooms; 2 TPV and 1 Resort View and you don't get a choice with the 3 Queen rooms.

Can I ask what the items in the 3rd picture are? It looks like salads but I can’t make out what the tags say. Thanks!
Ohhhh I didn’t realize the photos didn’t come over as clear as they are on my phone!!

Watermelon & feta salad
Panzanella salad with lemon tarragon dressing
Citrus poached shrimp with pineapple aguachile

Love those citrus poached shrimp!

It’s actually been over a year since they came back. They started back up with checkouts on July 5th last year. CMs should be well trained by now on an offer that’s been available for going on 13 months.

It was a suite, so 35% was a pretty large number for a ten night trip.
Yikes that was a big mistake by the CM. The bad news is that I have never heard of even Guest Services being able to correct a BB reservation that was cancelled. How long has it been since your call where the BB was cancelled?

Dave

Ugh. I cancelled an amazing 35% off Tower Club Bounceback because the phone CM told me I couldn't change the dates. Now I'm at rack rate for the same trip a month later :(
Call back asap and tell them what happened, providing the original res #. I cancelled one (stupidity, not a CM) and called 6 weeks later, and I think if it had been more recent a cancellation, they would have reinstated it. There was a lot of effort when I called.

There should not be a fee if you are "modifying" your second reservation just to add the BB discount for your Split Stay. Is it currently booked as RO or a ticket-less package?

Dave - I am an AP. All of these are RO, as I prefer the shorter cancellation as opposed to the smaller deposit of a package, both of which I’m familiar with. But any change would be within 3 days, and if they cannot “apply” it to the existing res for whatever reason, such as changes within the current (not future, emphasized as 8 days) cancellation period and instead need to book a new reservation, that would mean I kick the can down the road. Obviously this *shouldn’t* be necessary, but I think we can all agree that may not matter. I haven’t identified anyone who has attempted this, so this is the whole point in posting - in the hopes I can help another CL enthusiast in the future, so please stay tuned. Thanks!

It has been over a month at this point. I did call again this evening as this conversation was evolving. The CM told me that it's unusual for them to be able to reinstate a cancelled promotional offer and since the original room is no longer in inventory for the original dates there's absolutely no way for them to even try. The good news is he was able to find us a DVC villa for the new dates with a 20% GP discount. It's not club level of course, and it's a villa versus a suite, and it's BW not CR but it's a decent deal and we can make it work. It's also during Food & Wine so while the location changes some plans, being near International Gateway has benefits too. I will not make this mistake again. Thank you to everyone who was supportive or offered suggestions.

Argh, I’m so sorry this happened. But glad they were able to make something work for you.

Bounce Backs are still a very small percentage of the total interactions for the Reservation CMs.

It's not widely advertised since the printed pamphlet is tucked in with other paper materials that guests often don't bother to open. Not to mention that if a guest takes to printed pamphlet from the guest room it may be several days before it is replaced.

Also it is not even listed in the main stream https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ site relating to Special Offers (Discounts) . There are only a couple of mentions as questions for PlanDisney content.

Finally with the very limited period to book during a current visit or after most guests have just spend for a very expensive trip it is often the last thing that most guests even think about...
