Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like I've seen where the same person cannot be on 2 reservations. You could add 2 fake people to your room then just give your kids an extra band (of yours) to use for lounge access or if they need to get in your room, etc. That way MDE doesn't collapse on itself for having the same person needing access to 2 rooms and you aren't "cheating" the system by allowing more people into CL than what your reservation indicates.
This was my understanding, except I think there is a way to get around that by calling...? I forget the details around it (and it may not be correct). I have had a CM tell me (twice) that if they get to room assignment and see one name on two separate rooms, they cancel them both.

I think someone said I have to add their names at check-in to my room as a guest. I think you are correct. They cannot show up twice on a room when they are assigning the room, before we check in.

Thank you. It's the BC so I'm not sure they'd even upgrade the other room on the spot even if they did have one available. I have to make a decision on whether I want to ask to be downgraded if they have a room available upon check in (that's near my girl's room). If I do, maybe someone will get pixie dusted and get my club room!

Are they both under 18? If they are, there’s no additional charge for them in your room. If they are over 18, it’s $35 per extra adult. However, if you add them before check in, you would need to book them the same package in that room, no matter how old they are. You could add them to your room after you check in without the package. But then you’d run the risk of getting a king room, with no room capacity to add them.

@mefordis
Adding to my previous post….If you want everyone to have CL, add them to your room & package, maybe with their middle names. Then change their regular room to just a room reservation. & delete the package. Get their MBs linked to your room, so they can access the 5th floor. And they’d be able to access their tickets with their MBs. . Ask for key cards for their room at the front desk. Again, if they’re over 18, you’re gonna pay the extra $35 each. But it will probably still be less than booking 2 CL rooms. I would use their real names for their room, in case they need to check in & show ID. There’s no reason they’d need to show ID for your room.

If they need to charge back to the room, they can use the room card as long as they have their CCs on file for their room.

I’ve been on two reservations several times (and three a few) when I book AP rates for others going with me - never for CL though. It’s never caused a problem, and I’ve asked at the front desk if I should be removed and they’ve never seemed to think it’s a big deal.

I was hesitant to reply, I don’t want to advocate breaking any rules. I travel to wdw often as a solo, but meet my sister and her daughter. Usually we all book the same room type, CL or not. Once or twice, I have booked CL, and they did not. In cases like this, I will make sure I am booking a room with the appropriate capacity, and generally use an extra band or key card for access. I figure we could address the additions as needed since we are fewer people than room capacity (typically 5), but no one has given us so much as a look. My niece hardly eats, my sister doesn’t drink, and we use it for apps but not meals, so we are kind of a low impact group. To be clear, I make sure we are not exceeding the capacity of the room booked because I am kind of a goody two shoes, and I stress about this kind of thing! I just changed a room res from a king CL room to a 2 queen CL room with higher capacity, just in case, for an upcoming weekend. And I’m still stressing!!!!

ETA: I know, we should all stay in the same room. It would be cheaper. But I doubt we would enjoy traveling together as much, let's just say....
There are zero rules broken by adding all four to the room. The only caveat is you can’t have two reservations at the same time.

OP, put everyone’s name that they use for MDE on the CL room and put their names with their middle initial on the other room and get key cards for that room. You will have to pay for the two extra adult (s) for the CL room.

The issue is with MDE and matching guests names on MdE.

There is an issue. I know because member services told me I can not have two rooms with the same guests listed on both reservations.

I agree that I would never trust Disney IT to be able to function under those circumstances, but it has never caused me any problems nor has a phone reservation agent (I had to call to change dates, and a CM asked if I was supposed to be on two reservations, and I said I booked both for the AP discount but one was for my brother, and she said, “Okay.”) nor has a CM on property stated it wasn’t allowed or an issue in any way. I’d prefer my name not be on my brother’s or nephew’s reservation, tbh, but it did allow me a room key to access their hotel gates, as we have never stayed in the same hotel. Much easier to pick them up by scanning rather than having to explain to the guard what I’m doing. I use my magic band for everything else. I think it boils down to Disney being consistently inconsistent.

Thanks for this! Done :)

I remember seeing on the interwebs that there are reusable water bottles in the rooms at the Grand Floridian, and these can be used to fill in the lounge.

Is this a thing? Was it a fever dream?

When I was there in December, you had to ask for them in the lounge, but yes, nice refillable bottles were available for use.

Has anyone taken a Minnie Van from MCO recently? I went ahead and booked one for next weekend for our arrival. Feedback/reviews appreciated. Mahalo!

Kind of off topic, but I have always wondered how people pull off being at the pool on checkout day. You don't have a room to return to after being at the pool to shower or change. Suitcases are packed. Maybe I make life too complicated, but I think I am missing something LOL
Outside of Disney, during off-peak travel, we have sometimes been able to request late check out. If the hotel is really slow, they will sometimes grant something like a 3pm check out, especially if the room is just going to sit vacant.

We use the locker rooms at WDW to change, and/or the outdoor showers. We tend to only swim the last day when we have time to air dry our suits before leaving, but we are also careful to take them out/wash when we get home so they don't ferment.

Our bathing suits almost always get packed in the same spot. It is a duffle bag, so it is easy to add our swimsuits to the main pouch.

I'm really posting though to mention a product we LOVE. It is a mesh bag sold at Target as, "Shade and Shore tote bag" for $10. We have a bunch in assorted colors for various uses at home, but we always bring one on vacation with us, and have found many uses. It takes up almost no room. If we ever don't want to pack up our swimsuits in our luggage, we could just use the mesh bag. We especially tend to use it for our suits when we do split stays.

The first one we bought has a zipper top, and it is the most useful of all, but Target no longer makes that style. For summer, they do make a similar style with a smaller cooler pouch on the bottom called a "cooler tote" for $12 (same brand). We have one like that and it is also handy. The zipper ones can be used as a packing cube.

These bags are lightweight, very durable, flexible, side pockets, and the strap is the perfect length to carry on your shoulder, unlike most reusable shopping bags - including the ones WDW sells.

Hey all, looking for opinions on YC vs. BC club level. I know there are better lounges, but we are staying at one of the two resorts with friends. Trying to pick which one to stay at. Thanks!
They are both great options, and are similar. I have a slight preference for BC, but you should maybe go with whichever one happens to cost less if both are available. One plus of YC is that the lounge has some outdoor seating.

They are served by the SAME central kitchen, which also makes food for the hotel's restaurants.

You say there are better lounges, but they are among our favorites.

Heading to WDW next week, I have already booked Tiffany Towncar, but Im now interested in the Minnie car service from and to the airport. What is the cost for 4 adults and 1 child?

I think it is $199 each way plus tip.

From Undercover Tourist:

Currently, only club-level guests can request Minnie Van shuttle service to and from the airport. Instead of booking through the Lyft app, you must arrange a Minnie Van shuttle ride between your Disney hotel and the airport through Disney Signature Services by calling 407-939-7777 or emailing disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com.

If traveling within the U.S., request a pickup at least two hours before your flight departure. For international flights, arrange a pickup at least three hours before departure. You may book your shuttle ride up to 60 days in advance.

Minnie Van shuttles can accommodate up to six guests, six medium-sized suitcases and up to three car seats. It costs $199 each way (gratuity not included) to take a Minnie Van shuttle to the airport. Operation hours are from 9 a.m. to midnight for flight departures, and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for flight arrivals.
