Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Just wanted to give a quick update on my upcoming trip. We leave Sunday for the YC and then head to Universal Friday. My husband received some sad news that his 91 yo mother isn't doing well. He will fly out to see her tomorrow (europe). He's planning on meeting us in Universal because my 14 yo has been talking about it non stop and he's been struggling this past year because of covid. I wanted to postpone but my husband didn't want me too. Needless to say I am not in a very Disney mood. We've been running around all day. We had to buy a black suit for him just in case. I didn't want to book his mco ticket or a return flight but he wanted it all done. I did the chat to cancel his mco flight and will deal with his park tickets at Disney. I will update while I'm there but I'm going to act as if nothing is wrong. Please say a prayer. This could go either way and I pray if it goes badly that he will make it there in time. It's killing me not being able to be there with him.

Curious if there will be any CL perks related to Disney Genie...

I would hope that Genie+ is included and either the individual attraction selection (or ability to buy more than the 2)
I'm more concerned about their statement

Disney Genie service will maximize your park time, so you can have more fun

Disney IT does not have a good track record with their new releases. If the app is Genie, I'm Madame Leota and I foresee some upset people.

(BTW, Disney Parks on YouTube and Disney Blog are getting blasted with complaints on this announcement. I think they should have had a gentler roll out, offering one FP for free to each person and pay for additional.)

I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Your family is in my prayers

The one thing I learned today from all the drama everywhere about this is: just how few people apparently knew about the CL FP+ program outside of CL guests.

Lightning Lane? What is this, Six Flags? :confused3
I had the exact same reaction, both the term and the functionality of the system sound exactly like Six Flags. Then I remembered Disney (well, Pixar) has a character named Lightning.

I understand the need to rebrand it. If they kept it as FastPass there would have been complaints that it's included with pre-bought tickets. This way they can say FP is gone.

But they could have called it FlashPass (Zootopia, although the character is a sloth, so maybe not)

Hi there! As far as Disney Signature Services goes, it can be hit and miss whether or not you receive a call or email from them… however, you can always reach out to DSS yourself! Here’s their information:

Disney Signature Services: (407) 939-7777 or you can email them at: disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com

Have a great time!
Thank you VERY much!!!!!!

Oh man, I hate that you all are going through this. It sounds very stressful and I didn't catch the whole "his mother is in Europe" thing the first time I read it. Wishing you all lots of prayers and safe travels all around.

So in the flurry of excitement about Boma available to book yesterday morning, we now have this for just the Animal Kingdom Lodge part of our trip:

Tuesday lunch - Yak & Yeti
Tuesday Dinner - Saana
Wed Lunch - Tusker House
Wed Dinner - Boma
Thurs Breakfast - Boma
Thurs Dinner - Boma
Fri Breakfast - Boma
Fri Dinner Sebastians Bistro

going over it with my wife, and she noticed that we now have Boma four times and remembered that we have club level so why do we need big breakfasts. So we are going to have to edit this back a bit...

I was just going to say that as well as pre-covid there was a BOMA or Jiko chef in the club every night making two hot dishes in addition to other items, so you may just want to stick with lunches.

This is a lot for a CL stay but I know some people just have a cube of cheese and glass of wine and then go to a full dinner (although not a lot in this group...)

I think breakfast is too much unless you have kids and need a character fix. CL breakfast (in the past now...) is usually great and very convenient. Booking lunch ADRs gives you a full meal and a rest stop during your day, so we usually do those. Dinners are variable. We tend to book a few dinners but plan on getting cocktails & sushi or cocktails/apps, maybe a dessert, rather than a full dinner. Plus we never do the same place twice for the same meal in one trip.

If I were you I would keep your bookings (because they are hard to get back) and decide after day 1 what is good for you. You can cancel the rest. Recently BWI came up with CL available (we have it booked for 3 nights non-club) and when I asked my family about it they declined as they are planning on lunches and dinners for those 3 nights. Breakfast will be grab something at the parks, coffee and banana, yogurt, muffin, etc. (btw the cost for CL for those 3 nights was about $170/night difference from GV room so if you're not really using it I think your money is better saved for ADRs)
