Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can anyone confirm that the AKL lounge no longer has kids goodies? My four will be fine without goldfish or gummies but my SIL is considering a change from WL and her three are younger (3,6,7). We would like to make it a nice cousins trip in July, but they will be spending much more time in the lounge than my crowd.
We are there now and there have been goldfish, gummies and jelly beans. At night veggies and apples with caramel dip and cookies.

I've done it all, rental car, taxi, Uber, town car, it really just boils down to what fits your needs. If you only need one trip to the store a rental car would be a waste. I would probably weigh the price difference between a taxi or having a grocery delivery service bring the stuff you want.

How did you find Uber? I've been reading threads on Uber service on the Transportation Forum, and it seems like it may be a viable option for a quick trip here and there. We're doing a split stay CL at WL, which I'm so looking forward to, then we head to BCV. I was thinking about Uber to get us to BCV and then if we decide we need water, beer, wine, snacks, maybe call Uber to get us to a grocery and back? (I'm afraid we may find ourselves spoiled by doing CL first... but then again... When we stay BCV, we typically dine out, run over to Boardwalk Bakery, or head over to Epcot...)

Its the little things!
(or maybe there is just too many options, because as you stated, it boils down to what fits your needs, and everyone is different!)

Yay! Thank you for the quick reply. SIL is on the fence but I think the jelly beans will sway her. Hahahaha!!

Uber is an app for your phone/tablet, you don't call them. You store your payment info in your account, and when you want to be picked up, you request a ride, and the nearest driver will pick you up. In the app, you can put in your destination and see how much your trip will cost. Tip is included, so there is no need to handle money. I use it wherever cabs are hard to find! I've never had any issues with it, and I generally end up paying less than a taxi would cost. Plus, since Uber drivers use their own cars, they keep them nice and CLEAN!! :)

There are also really good homemade potato chips. Those and the jelly beans are my favorite snack. I can't pick a favorite dessert though. All of them have been amazing.

Quick question, how long does it typically take the IPO to respond to your completed form? We are staying at AKL in December (yay) and while I'm pretty much ok if I don't get the precise reservations - I am really trying for CRT. I don't know if I should just relax or give them a call.

This is only my second time staying CL and the first time, I ended up upgrading after all my reservations were booked.

We took Uber from BWI to Universal and it was $30. Worked out great for us. :) You just have to download the app and setup an account with your credit card. You search for drivers and pay all on the app.

Also you can see the Uber drivers who are close to you, when we were at BWI there were about 6 in range of us and it took about 2 minutes for them to arrive. :)

They should get back with you within a day or two after your 180 day mark. But if you haven't heard yet I would call them.

We had no success with IPO helping with ADRs. I have been able to get all of the places/times we wanted on my own but I was not impressed with the IPO service we received. Twice I got on the phone and found harder to get ADRs (CRT and Wishes dessert party) immediately after IPO told me there was no availability. Both times I was able to make reservations with no problems.

Well thats rather troubling Lisaloo.... have you ever complained ? I feel like that is a big reason to book CL... I just didn't want to deal with the hassle of that terrible reservation system.

I complained to my husband. Lol! Our situations were different, we were already past our 180 day mark when we decided to go to WDW this year. My frustration didn't come from the lack of availability, it came from finding things on my own almost simultaneously while being told no.

I was so frustrated that I changed our reservation from CL to standard. But now we are back to CL, all ADRs are made and I am going to enjoy the lounge for a week next month!

Hope your trip falls right into place!!

I actually have had the opposite experience - two times staying CL at AKL and, this time, staying CL at WL. We got every ADR we wanted, including harder-to-get ones like Ohana, and for a larger group. I always have been very impressed with their service.

Whenever I email GF IPO I get an email that says they will respond within 24 hours, and they always have. So if it's been a few days, you may want to call and check...and with CRT you need to call and give them your credit card for the reservation anyway so it's a good excuse to call and make sure they got your form.

I left my ADRs in the hands of the GF IPO and they got me everything except BOG. I didn't have a ton of hard-to-get requests but I did have CRT and they got me an 8:05 a.m. ADR. I even got on the system around 6:30 a.m. on my 180-days mark just to check if BOG and CRT were available and there were no BOGs and there were a couple of CRTs but for 9:00 or later. The IPO must have been on first thing and got me that pre-park opening CRT ADR! My ADRs were popping up on MDE right away and I got an email by 8:00 a.m. from the IPO with the confirmations as well.

They said they will check for BOG but, from what I understand, they have a list of requested ADRs for all their guests and they check it every morning. So if you are at the bottom of the list or an ADR pops up in the afternoon they won't be right on top of it necessarily to get it for you. So...for whatever they don't get you, you can go on and check the system yourself as well and you might get something they weren't able to get for you in their process. But I've read about a lot of people who say the IPOs get them ADRs closer to their trip that they weren't able to book at the 180-day mark, so they do check.

Of course, others have had issues so I'd send in your sheet, see what they get you, and then check the system yourself between the 180 day mark and your trip! Two sets of eyes are always better than one! Good luck!

Sorry for the ignorant Newb question here lol, but what is this 'form' of which you speak? I sent the IPO an email listing my requests, is there an actual form I was supposed to fill out? I did get a response from them very quickly, but no mention of a form. :confused3

The IPO sends a form either as soon as you book your stay OR within 190 days of your stay. The email is pretty immediate if you book after the 180 day mark. The form asks what types of reservations you need, special activities that are available at your hotel etc.

Luckily I have already eaten at BOG and thought it was NBD. So I'm not shooting for that... the more frequently I go to WDW, the less I worry about which restaurants I get. But its my DD fourth birthday and we are bringing my FIL who is very ill and this will likely be his only visit, so I feel really strongly about CRT. FIL is a big softie and will love seeing his granddaughter enjoy all the trappings of being a princess.

Hmmm...all I got was a welcome letter inviting me to email or call with any requests or bookings, which is what I did!
