Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Luckily I have already eaten at BOG and thought it was NBD. So I'm not shooting for that... the more frequently I go to WDW, the less I worry about which restaurants I get. But its my DD fourth birthday and we are bringing my FIL who is very ill and this will likely be his only visit, so I feel really strongly about CRT. FIL is a big softie and will love seeing his granddaughter enjoy all the trappings of being a princess.

That does sound like a special trip!! Good luck!!

We stayed at Poly CL in November 2013, but never really took advantage of their IPO because we booked our trip about 50 days out. I just handled everything myself for our group. We're returning this November and I have to say the IPO has been fantastic! ADR's booked with no trouble and very quickly. We have 2 rooms with a total of 9 people traveling with us, so finding availability for all of us (even when we divide into 2 groups) can be time consuming and frustrating. Can't wait to be back at our favorite resort to kick off the holiday season!

Also you can see the Uber drivers who are close to you, when we were at BWI there were about 6 in range of us and it took about 2 minutes for them to arrive. :)

Have you compared the Uber prices to the regular taxis down there? In NY there's a definite premium to Uber, but I still know tons of people who use it.

I have had very good luck with the Poly IPO as well. This is our first time staying CL and sent them our list of ADRs about 10 days before our 180 mark. So glad I did because when I tried to book them myself, I had terrible luck with the reservation system and couldn't get anything booked (at least not at 5:00 am CST that morning). Turned out the IPO office emailed me less than an hour after booking opened that morning and they got all my requests, including Cali Grill and Ohanas.

from what I've read on the transportation forum Uber is cheaper - and the big difference is you know in advance how much they will charge you - so NO money changes hands! That's a big deal to me.

and others have posted how you think you can charge your ride with a Taxi (generically speaking) and then they demand cash, or they fiddle with the route... to of course make "a living" but in their defense, they have lots of overhead they have to pay for, which is how Uber is getting away with charging less, but that ap seems like it would make the difference for us...

I've done it all, rental car, taxi, Uber, town car, it really just boils down to what fits your needs. If you only need one trip to the store a rental car would be a waste. I would probably weigh the price difference between a taxi or having a grocery delivery service bring the stuff you want.

Thanks! I priced out a week rental from MCO through Hotwire and it was $250. I also looked up a one-day rental from the DCCC and it was $40. Garden Grocer would be ideal, but I don't think they will include liquor/hard alcohol in the order? If not, then maybe we look into a town car from the airport instead of DME or grab a cab to a nearby grocery store, as we only need 3-4 things. As an aside, anyone know if an uber will wait for you at a grocery store? I've never tried it, so curious if anyone else has. Ubers are so cheap that we might be better off using them to resort hop/go to DAK and DHS rather than the Disney transportation, and we'd probably still come in cheaper than a full week's rental. For MK and Epcot, we'll probably just use the monorail/boats.

Thanks a ton! Sorry this deviated from a true CL discussion!

We used WeGoShop and they brought beer and liquor. :D

See, THIS is why I love these boards so much. Done and done! We'll use WeGoShop for our grocery needs and use Uber for anything else off site! Thank you!!
We also used sego shop for beer and wine. I looked up the Publix weekly add to find the brands of wines (also called their bakery and ordered a chocolate decadent birthday cake! All delivered by wegoshop, they were easy to communicate with) vthey got us a great beer, one that we hadn't been able to get up here, but that was a few years ago

It was well worth the price

Also there are codes for uber (Google)

Just putting this out there if you are looking for hard liquor. We stayed at POR last year and in the gift shop was a liquor store. Fully stocked! We bought a 750ml bottle of crown royal. Same price as liquor stores where we live too. Happy we saved the money trying to get some off property!

Cool, thanks for the tip! Also, I feel like I'm coming off as a total lush here in my quest for alcohol... I swear I just want one bottle of grey goose! Okay... And maybe some prosecco...

What floor did you request? Do you think they will be upgrading those with GV during our stay because of the pool construction? I have heard mixed opinions so far. Just wondering what others have heard for our specific time period.

I requested third floor, because we like to have the balcony. I did think about the possible upgrade though, and wondered if it would be better to request ground floor. I imagine they wouldn't upgrade people to a theme park view (which is what 3rd floor would be), but maybe lagoon view (ground floor). I'm driving myself crazy overthinking this....

You guys are making me thirsty! ;) Now that I'm the only adult in the house I never get to have a cocktail... I'm always on taxi duty! LOL

I'm doing the same thing! I am trying to fight the urge to pay for the extra cost of the theme park view. I think I priced it out and it was like an extra $400 :scared1: just for the view and I was like :confused3 errrr.....I could do a lot with that $$$....So I am just crossing my fingers, holding myself back from just upgrading:scared:, and hoping for the best.

In January, we booked GV CL at Poly, and requested third floor/balcony. When checking in, the CL CM said our room would be ground floor. Initially, I asked if we could wait for a 3rd floor room, and then he said, "It's on this side of the building . . . " and pointed to the lagoon. Sold! We ended up loving the ground floor and the lagoon view was great (even with construction on that side of the time - primarily because we only paid for GV.) We had to be cautious about the sliding glass door - and a critter entered anyway - but our boys loved chasing and capturing that lizard (who was then released back outside.) :)

:cheer2:hi all!
any updates on BWI CL refurb?
We are headed early October and just wondering what they are planning to do and what the time frame might be.

Keeping my fingers crossed for this! Not expecting it though. In fact, I thought I read just recently that there are people staying in those GV rooms now since the view isn't quite so bad.... whatever happens, we'll have a great time I'm sure :thumbsup2

and as for prosecco - don't forget how close you are to France and Italy! Italy has the Rosa Regale (the red prosecco that taste like berries....) It used to be $10-$12 a glass, but it was only $20 for the bottle! (and that was the same price we pay for it in the liquor store here in Chicago!) So yes, I hit Epcot for my wines! ;)

I can relate to that! DH goes out of town a lot, and its just too scary not knowing when you may have to use the car!
