I wonder how all of this gift card stuff is going to work come June...my TA got us the 75.00 refund for every night and promised 25.00 in gift cards a night. Two days later we got an email for the 75.00 gift card every night....not sure what will happen... Are there reports of people getting the gift cards and the original 75.00 a night.... maybe I'll have to not bank on getting the gift cards and adjust the budget...

So far, the people who received a $75 credit per night are not getting the $75 gift card also. WDW is saying that if the $75 credit per night was given, then the email about the $75 per night gift card was received in error.

Yes, prmatz & canadiandisneydad both had the $75 room discount & recieved the gift card. So far, only ksweet656 has been refused the gift card. Will be interesting to see what happens when more guests start checking in.

I know 4 people, not on the DIS, who have been denied both. All were told by the General Manager that they received the email about the $75 gift card in error.

I've been thinking more about why @ksweet656 was refused her gift card. Do you the fact that she booked with a TA might have had something to do with it? I was thinking that maybe the TA added notes to her reservation that might have made it apparent that she had already received the $75/night credit in February. This could have no basis since I don't know if the others who got the gift cards were booked with a TA or not. Just is so darn puzzling that canadiandisneydad checked in this morning and received his gift card and ksweet656 checked in last night and was refused hers. Something had to trigger this....but what??????

Ah, well, this certainly suggests that those who check in expecting both the credit and the gift card moving forward will need to adjust their expectations. A big time bummer for all those who will be affected.

Three of the people I know that got denied did not book with a Travel Agent and 1 did.

Good question. My reservation info shows nothing about a discount, just the amount paid & amount due.
 
Well then Disney better get "correction" emails going out. They have had plenty of time to do that. Or they are going to have yet another PR disaster on their hands.

Actually, this would seem to require a phone call,not an e,ail now that I think about it. People made decisions about their vacations after receiving these emails. If Disney is now changing things, they have an obligation to notify guests.

Has anyone taken anything apart from an email as back up to claiming the gift card? Not only were some guests sent out an email, but it was also attached to your booking on MDE?

I still have a while to wait until checking in at the end of June, and can't believe how different check in has been for people.
 
This makes me worried. I guess to be on the safe side I won't budget for the extra gift cards....I was really hoping we would get it though because we did receive the email...
