Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

How are the buses? I have noticed a good many complaints on Facebook in the last week or so.
They were fine for us. We had to stand a few times on the way to MK and when leaving the parks but our wait was never more than about 20 mins. Except from Disney Springs. The bus from there was horrible. We stayed at Barbados and a couple of times in the early morning we walked to Martinique bus stop just because it was a nice walk on a nice morning and it beat having to sit and wait.

Thank you! The buses were the only thing that we had an issue with last September. The waits seemed longer than the other resorts that we have stayed at. I was really concerned reading the complaints now.
 

I wonder how all of this gift card stuff is going to work come June...my TA got us the 75.00 refund for every night and promised 25.00 in gift cards a night. Two days later we got an email for the 75.00 gift card every night....not sure what will happen... Are there reports of people getting the gift cards and the original 75.00 a night.... maybe I'll have to not bank on getting the gift cards and adjust the budget...
WE got offered the same deal by a Supervisor CM on the phone with reservations... 75 off our room per night, 25 GC per day and free fastpasses...we got the room rate and fastpasses and hubby is ready to fight for the GC, he says its not about the money its about bait and switch..offering something to make you stay then retracting it..check in is going to be a blast if that GC is not there I can tell ya..I can get that the $75 email was a blanket email but we were offered the $25 GC over the phone as part of incentive to stay so you better believe we will be getting it..

Can I ask if you had any other promotion before? We have a free dining bounceback & were not offered the gift card on the phone. Only the email about it. Also, how many extra fastpasses were you offered? We got one each for which I had to pick what day I wanted it. Not even an extra one per day, just 1 extra per person.

curious when do you go...we are june 19-24th...
 
We initially received the $75 off per night when booking our July trip through our TA... then she told us a couple of days later about the $75 gift cards, and that we might get them as well. A few days later I got the email saying we would receive them. Not only that, but I got one of the incorrect emails stating that our resort was Disney's Grand Californian. Since I was concerned about the mistake, I sent an email directly to Guest Relations about the error, and received a personal response from a CM apologizing for the mistake, noting that we would soon get the correct email statement. I did get the correct email for CBR later that same day. If the email stating that we were to receive the gift cards was sent in error, then the CM that sent me a personal response would have also had to make an error.

If multiple communications to the customer were in error, then it is fully their responsibility to make it right.
 
Sorry to hear about the GC insanity everyone is going through. Hopefully in 10 months when I'm there it won't be an issue.

Anyone have info on the breakfast and dinner? Selections, prices?

So far, the only guests having issues with gift cards are those that took both, a gift card AND a discount (on top of any AP/Military/public discount they received), right?
Anyone who had a general discount (like AP) and then got the gift card have not received any grief when checking in, right?

I think thats pretty much it yes..
 
And OPR definitely is still open. Sounds like I'm one of the lucky ones stacking discounts + gift card. Unfair bum deal for those who were refused.

It will. So far the only people having issues are the people who called and complained when the construction was first announced and were transferred to Guest Services who offered a $75 per night credit. Some of those guests have been told that their original $75 per night credit is en lieu of the $75 per night gift card, not on top of the $75 per night gift card.

If you have a general public room discount, you will not have any issue.
 
I'm just wondering anyone who has been denied if they have spoken to Sheryl koenes who is listed in the offer letter?
 
Hi, first time posting but I've been lurking and reading since the cbr Reno emails landed.

I'm from the UK and quite a few of us who phoned initially were given $75 room credit (on our magic bands, to spend onsite) was anyone else offered this? We also recieved the email saying everyone will get a $75 gift card upon arrival. I'm on an emotional roller coaster wondering if we will get both things we were offered or not. It would make a massive difference to our vacation obviously.

A few have but they seemed to have locked down on it. Their intent was never to give $75 credit and $75 gift card. Their error came in that they sent the $75 gift card message to ALL bookings without determining who had already gotten a different alternate offer. If I were in your shoes I'd expect $75 per night, either on a gift card or on a credit off the room charges, but not both. If you do get both, consider it bonus.
