Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

hi all

i posted most of this on the DVC forums but i think this part belongs here:

hi all,

we are looking at purchasing DVC and are considering BWV. Please lmk thoughts/responses to my comments/questions.

we stayed at BCV (rented) last summer and DD8 and DW49 and I (51) loved it. we liked the location most of all, and the pool too. but we also liked that when you went back to where the rooms were, you were isolated from the chaos and it was peaceful and drawn out. does BWV also have that same vibe? we know the front of the resort will be full of action and vitality, which we want, but we want a respite and some nice grounds to relax and walk through in the back to get away from it all too. we think that if we were buying for the next few years that BC would make more sense but we are thinking ahead too and believe that BWV would fit our needs nicely as time goes on. DD8 did love SAB but the BWV pool looks quite nice too (though not as big obviously).

but the key question i have, not having ever stayed there and only having witnessed first hand the front of the BW, is whether the back is peaceful and spread out.
TIA!

We've stayed at both and own at BWV. I am married with two dds. I really like both resorts. The standard view at BWV can put you facing the parking lot, and some of the rooms are near the elevator but near where luggage is packed for DME. Some of the rooms further away have all that green space, views of the lawn, tree, and fountain. The parking can be terrible during major sports events (and the nfl games on Sunday) for access to ESPN restaurant, but that is only certain times of the day.

The other booking categories are boardwalk view and garden/preferred. The garden/preferred view can get you a view similar to the one a few posts above or of the pools. Those can be relaxing, especially the quiet pool. I think the standard views are quite relaxing (other than next to clanking DME luggage racks). I've never really walked the grounds though. I hear there are some nice walking trails at OKW and SSR with the nature, but I've never done them. I think walking on the Boardwalk, especially early in the morning, is both relaxing and enjoyable.

I did like SAB, but I think the water slide is better at BWV as you don't have to walk out onto the sidewalk to access it. BCV has Cape May, which is a great character breakfast, and easy access to the fake beach. BWV doesn't have the fake beach, but easy access to all the nighttime entertainers on the Boardwalk. BCV has shorter walk to Epcot, and BWV has shorter walk to DHS.

They are two great resorts to own. BWV is cheaper in points for standard view stays, which was a selling point for me. Good luck in your decision.

So excited - just booked two standard view club level rooms for my DH & I and sis & her DH for April to enjoy F&G. At Epcot. I really hope our stay is much more enjoyable than the stay at BC. It's our first time staying club level & I can't wait. Thanks for this thread.

Of course I'll add your dates to the Boardwalk Bulletin. Sweaty DH can get squeaky clean at the gym, Muscles and Bustles. Photos of the (women's) locker room/shower are HERE. I would think the men's looks the same, with the addition of urinals:scratchin

FABULOUS!! He will LOVE IT!! I guess when we check out that morning, I'll just have a small bag with his clean clothes in it, and then after lunch we'll head back, request our bags from where they stashed then, and he can go shower while the boys and I sob over having to leave!! :lmao:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I was wondering whether someone could add our vacation dates. We are staying at BWI, boardwalk view, February 12-18. Just four weeks away! This will be our first stay at the BWI, and I am so glad I picked this particular resort.

Someone had posted on another thread about walking all around Crescent lake and even walking on the Beach Club beach. Is this allowed for non-BC guests? I know we aren't allowed to access other resorts' pools. It would be nice to walk on a beach in the mornings.

Yes you can walk on the beach around the BC & Yatch Club :)

We are staying in a standard view BWV room in March. Which option from the room requests would put us closest to the bus stop? Lobby or elevator?

The elevator is right next to the lobby so that's basically the same request. But, definitely, either wording should give you the best chance at getting the closest to the bus stop that you're going to get.

Thank you. That's exactly what I needed to know!

Thank you for the correction! I knew it wasn't "water view" but couldn't remember what it was specifically called. :thumbsup2

One more week and I will be back at the BW! Cannot wait. Looking forward to seeing
my Disney family in the Innkeepers Club.

Hi,

We have a deluxe room booked for our CL stay at the BWI. I understand that there are 10 rooms, 5 on the 3rd floor and 5 on the 4th floor. Which should we request? Any advice from any one who has stayed in either or both of these? Do they all have full balconies?

Thanks a bunch for any opinions or help!

We have been choosing different resorts for our trips over the last several years but last summer I think we finally found our home away from home. Super excited to be returning to a Deluxe Club Level room June 1st-6th.
Quick question... My DH will be right in the middle of Iron Man training and can't afford to not train for the 8 days we'll be away. Would it be possible for him to swim laps in a pool somewhere while staying at BWI? Any thoughts/suggestions?

BWI quiet pool at odd hours like really early or late

Thanks! Do the quiet pools not have hours? He's good about fitting his work outs in really early or late as not to compromise family time so I'm sure this would carry on to vacation time.

Layout and size of deluxe rooms are the same on both floors.
Both have full balconies, but the 3rd floor ones are larger.
The one drawback of the 3rd floor is that is quite a hike to the 4th floor lounge. Taking the elevator on the 3rd floor to the 4th, and then walking to the lounge is a long distance. You can avoid this by taking the stairs located near the 3rd floor deluxe rooms up to the lounge, but if you go back and forth a lot or if you are taking food or drinks back to your room it can be inconvenient.
Also, if you need to speak to the CL CM's often (for whatever reason) you really don't want to be on the 3rd floor.
I would request the 4th floor - ask for room 4225 which is close to the lounge. Try to avoid 4255 which is right next to the concierge desk - people coming and going all the time, the door opening and closing, and if the guest talks loud you can hear their whole conversation with the Cast Member on the Concierge Desk.

Thank you! That is exactly The sort of information that I wanted to know. Is there enough room for 2 chairs on the fourth floor balcony? DH and I like to sit outside with a coffee in the morning and watch the action.

It is my understanding that quiet pools are available 24 hours. It is the main themed pools that close overnight, I believe. Hopefully someone will correct me if that is wrong.
