Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Thank you for the reply! Another question- is there a "secret" exit on that side of the inn that you can use to head to EPCOT. At the beach club, there is one at the far end of the building closest to EPCOT and it is convenient to save a few steps and to get out of the heat or rain. I am a bit lazy and would hate to walk all the way to the center of the complex and then have to head back the same way towards EPCOT.

Unfortunately no. Supposedly it was originally for safety, but with key cards and the like, it's just poor design. :sad2: On the Inn side, the staircases lead to the inner courtyard/quiet pool area.

We just switched from the WL to Club level at the Boardwalk from 2/28-3/8! It will be our first time staying at the Boardwalk and staying club level, so we are pretty pumped! How long after a reservation is booked, do you usually heard from Itinerary planning? I have a few questions for them. Thank you!!

I booked for April a few days ago & got an email 2 days later.

Can anyone tell me if the Village Green large balconies ( Studios ) are on the 3rd or 4th floor? Or if anyone has pics. I'd be much appreciative, T.I.A.

I know I saw a whole discussion on this a while back, but can't for the life of me remember where.:confused3:surfweb:

Does BWI always share buses with Swan/Dolphin? (To get to MK)

Trying to decide between BWI and CR for our June trip...spending most of our time between HS (SWW) and MK so I am completely torn!

It's not a big deal. Boardwalk is the first pick up, then off to Swan and Dolphin.

We leave in just 2 more days and my son, his wife and one child are sick! They went to the doctor today and not the flu, just really bad coughs and cold. They all got medication, so hopefully they will be better by Friday. I now have my 5 year old granddaughter here at my house until we leave. I usually drive her to school in the mornings anyway, so figured I'd keep her away from germs as much as possible. The baby, 7 months, is at home since at my age I would be exhausted before the trip started!!!

Beach Club owners... Booked in 2br for July at BWV as BC is full. Starting to feel super nervous about condition of rooms I am seeing online (moldy bathrooms broken a/c, stained bedding, old mattresses. Had points at BWV 12 years ago but have not stayed there since 2002 and now worried. Anyone have recent trip info?

Just switched from GF to BWI for December 11-22. Love the convenience of walking to two parks. Now, please help me figure out what to request for a standard room. Is it possible to see the high Epcot fireworks from any of these? Is it bad that I'm already counting down the days? :scratchin

On Touring Plans, I saw some standard view rooms that faced a pretty little fountain in a courtyard and the quiet pool (over close to the convention center?). Did BWI have a recent refurb? Do they all have daybeds or is that a separate request?

My plan for our June trip is to complete Online check in ahead of time. We booked a "standard room" so I completely understand that I'm not getting a view of any kind other than a bush/tree/parking lot or dumpter :rotfl:...

BUT....with that room type, is there really anything I CAN request? Like closer to an elevator, or maybe a higher floor or MAYBE even facing Epcot??

I wasn't sure if even those requests would be above and beyond a "standard" room and maybe all the water or boardwalk view rooms were closer to the elevator or on higher floors??!! :lmao:

This is our first time staying at BWI so I wasn't sure where my "standard views" might be pointed towards!

THANKS!

Check out touringplans.com and look at their room finder for BWI. You can put in standard view room and it will show you the rooms (and floors) on the resort map, as well as pics of the actual view from the room (most of them anyway).

BWV owner. We stayed in studio in October, a split stay at BWV/VBR. We had the new bedding, bed was comfortable, no mold, and everything worked.

thanks for the tip, but it appears I have to have a paid subscription to TouringPlans to see that feature...:confused3

I FOUND IT!! It was a little tricky to find, but I did!

THANKS!!!

Yes, the Inn side just had a recent refurb in 2014. I think the daybeds are not in every room, and would be a request, but I'm not completely sure. A lot of standard view questions, like you said, some are very pleasant. I think asking for High Floor Looking Towards Epcot might get you some fireworks above the buildings. :thumbsup2

The Villa side is scheduled for a refurb in 2015. We just stayed there in December, and I would say the room was a little worn, but nowhere near as bad as you make the BCV sound! Bedding was very clean (sheets with just a runner from the old bedspreads), I posted a pic of the BR a few pages back. Plus by July you might get a refurbed room!

106 days out... Not particularly an exciting milestone, but I'm in obsessing mood today! This will be our first stay at BWV. We rented points, and I have a question for those of you in the know!

When we rented, there was only a standard view studio available. In your experience is it possible to upgrade at check in? I'm not looking for a free upgrade--- I would gladly pay--- I just don't particularly care to be overlooking the parking lot or something on our highly romantic anniversary! haha!

Just curious really being that its the DVC side of things and I imagine that there isn't much flexibility.

Happy (upcoming) Anniversary!

Have you checked with the owner of the points about doing a wait-list for the other two view-categories? It will cost them more points (therefore, more money), but it might be worth a shot.

But if you end up in the standard view studio, it really won't be that bad. The entrance to BWI/V is really quite lovely to look at.

Also, maybe some of the DVC vets can give you a good room request for the standard view studios to add to your reservation...just in case. We stayed in a standard view 2BR at the far end closest to DHS. We had a lovely view of the front of BWI and grassy area up front. It was an easy walk outside over to the bus stop and closer to DHS.

We've also rented a standard studio and I've been looking at the views on touring plans and they're not too bad. You could always try to request something closer to a view you'd like. I know for us we're not planning on doing too much room sitting. Maybe a few breakfasts in the room but it's a thought if you're not able to upgrade.
