hi all
i posted most of this on the DVC forums but i think this part belongs here:
hi all,
we are looking at purchasing DVC and are considering BWV. Please lmk thoughts/responses to my comments/questions.
we stayed at BCV (rented) last summer and DD8 and DW49 and I (51) loved it. we liked the location most of all, and the pool too. but we also liked that when you went back to where the rooms were, you were isolated from the chaos and it was peaceful and drawn out. does BWV also have that same vibe? we know the front of the resort will be full of action and vitality, which we want, but we want a respite and some nice grounds to relax and walk through in the back to get away from it all too. we think that if we were buying for the next few years that BC would make more sense but we are thinking ahead too and believe that BWV would fit our needs nicely as time goes on. DD8 did love SAB but the BWV pool looks quite nice too (though not as big obviously).
but the key question i have, not having ever stayed there and only having witnessed first hand the front of the BW, is whether the back is peaceful and spread out.
TIA!
We've stayed at both and own at BWV. I am married with two dds. I really like both resorts. The standard view at BWV can put you facing the parking lot, and some of the rooms are near the elevator but near where luggage is packed for DME. Some of the rooms further away have all that green space, views of the lawn, tree, and fountain. The parking can be terrible during major sports events (and the nfl games on Sunday) for access to ESPN restaurant, but that is only certain times of the day.
The other booking categories are boardwalk view and garden/preferred. The garden/preferred view can get you a view similar to the one a few posts above or of the pools. Those can be relaxing, especially the quiet pool. I think the standard views are quite relaxing (other than next to clanking DME luggage racks). I've never really walked the grounds though. I hear there are some nice walking trails at OKW and SSR with the nature, but I've never done them. I think walking on the Boardwalk, especially early in the morning, is both relaxing and enjoyable.
I did like SAB, but I think the water slide is better at BWV as you don't have to walk out onto the sidewalk to access it. BCV has Cape May, which is a great character breakfast, and easy access to the fake beach. BWV doesn't have the fake beach, but easy access to all the nighttime entertainers on the Boardwalk. BCV has shorter walk to Epcot, and BWV has shorter walk to DHS.
They are two great resorts to own. BWV is cheaper in points for standard view stays, which was a selling point for me. Good luck in your decision.
