Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

As of today we are officially booked at Boardwalk Villas June 7 - 18, 2016. Right now we are in a deluxe studio garden/pool view, but waitlisted for a boardwalk view.

This will be our first time staying at Boardwalk, so we have a few questions. Do all of the rooms have balconies? Are there any "secret" boardwalk view rooms which are classified as garden view and/or do you have a favorite room in that category? What are your best recommendations for a quick service breakfast? From looking at all the menus online it looks like it's pretty limited in hot entree options.

Can't wait until next summer!
Does it have to be QS? We walked up to Trattoria and got right in for breakfast last month. It was very good.
We also enjoy our breakfast at the Bakery but if I was to go to one of them again it would be Trattoria over the Bakery.

I'm curious about the ground floor rooms (BWI). Which way do they face? Are they all facing away from the Boardwalk? I'm assuming that with ground floor rooms you would have no need to go up or down stairs/elevator to access the boardwalk?

The second floor is the "main" level of the hotel complex. Ground level rooms on the Inn side look out to the garden. To get anywhere, you'd have to go up one level of stairs or take the elevator. There is no access from the garden area to the boardwalk. The lobby/check-in/Bellevue are all on the second level.

Are you there yet @trishadono?!

Ok. So I went day by day and found that the 7th, 8th and 13th have standard rooms only available and 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th are booked fully. Darn! I guess I'll keep looking and hope it opens up. We usually wait for a discount anyway. We were looking for rooms for our last trip and there was no availability until the discount came out. Weird!

That is strange. Keep checking though and keep us updated.

It was a quick trip, but just long enough for DH and I. He is confident that we will love BWI, and is already asking that I change Poly in July to BC/YC. Just call me a Crescent Lake Convert....I will add the WL will always be in the running (minus the current construction) ;)

CLC,

Are you going to wait until your BWI stay to make a decision on Poly?

Sorry, don't know where my head was for a second. It's BWI I'm going to actually, not BWV.

So what room category did you book at BWI?

We submitted paperwork on Friday to buy points at BWV. If things go well, we should own them by the end of January. We love that area and sold of Grand Floridian points to move over to there.

Congratulations and keep us posted on your contract:)

Well this is the 3rd resort thread that I am posting to as being where we are going to stay for a possible early February trip. My kids are making fun of me for being such a resort hopper between here, the Poly and POFQ. But I think the Boardwalk will be the winner. I sure hope the pool is up and going by 2/3. Do all the rooms have daybeds? I though I seen a couch in some pics, but we loved the daybeds at the Yacht Club.

I was under the impression that all rooms do have a daybed, but a few rooms don't have a balcony. Out of your 3 choices, I think you picked a great location. We stayed again at Poly in August and the monorail was not reliable and often very crowded. I missed not being able to walk to a park. It's so nice being able to walk to Epcot and DHS and bus to MK, which is no longer shared.

Welcome to the thread and congratulations on booking - I'll log your dates. I'm going to bump your Studio question over to a BWV expert…

Les Halles in France is open for a QS breakfast and it offers some hot dishes: MENU

Totally off topic, but hey Angie, we are not that far apart. :wave2:I live in Georgia. Walker county.

Booked standard view room. Not expecting anything but parking lot view, but since they offer a selection of things I thought I may as well pick the 2 they let me pick. If I get them great if not it's not a big deal. I picked boardwalk view and second floor.

Hey we are checking out today and I haven't been down stairs yet but as of last night there was no holiday decorations in the lobby. If that changes when we get down stairs I will let you know.
THanks so much! I mean I guess I will know soon enough but you know, excited for Xmas stuff :)

A short trip report. On way home from airport after 8 days at BWI, got upgraded from standard room to boardwalk view, rooms 5275 & 5277. 5275 did not have a balcony. Bus service was excellent, never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a bus, however the bus to AKL and Disney Springs was shared, to MK was only BWI. Hot and humid but we had a great time, we will be back in Feb. More later, really tired, long travel day into Chicago. Feel free to ask questions.

On the Villa side, for studios with garden view, they do have exactly what you're asking for -- the Village Green area, which are the rooms above the Wyland art gallery right outside the lobby. Basically those rooms have a side view of the Boardwalk. I know one person has complained if you get the perfectly wrong room, you're right next to area with the rocking chairs and basically have no privacy, but otherwise people generally really like those rooms. You could try requesting Village Green, High Floor. Good luck!

On this Veteran's Day and everyday, your service and sacrifice means so much to so many - THANK YOU!

I'm technically a day late, but it's never too late to say the same to you and your family as well!! The families of those who serve are directly affected as well. Thank you!

I took a quick walk-through video of the room while we were checking out. It got cut short thanks to Housekeeping knocking on the door... but here is our club level, Boardwalk view room walk through from a couple weeks ago:

We check in tomorrow night (well, technically Saturday morning I guess :-) ), we are taking my son for his first Food And Wine where he can actually partake in the beverages! And of course my husband just called, and told me he got rear ended on his way to work, grrrrrrr. 3 years ago we had a hail storm the day before we left for F&W and his car got nailed. Seems to be a trend. Oh well, Disney here we come.

Great little video. I loved your view and balcony!!! I check in Saturday!!! :)

Three days late on my 11 month window, and I couldn't book Standard or Boardwalk view as some of the dates are already taken. I get it that Sat and Sunday are booked, but how did Tuesday get booked up but not Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri is still open? :headache:

We were going to look at a split stay at the beach again (Vero), but now I'll have to track and call to change booking.

Ugh, me too! Sorry Kook and all my military friends!

My Grandpa was a WWII vet and his AF nickname was "mouse", he had big ears and a small head he said. Kind of meant to be I love a mouse, huh?? Miss my Grandpa <3

We just came back from a wonderful stay at the Boardwalk Villas! We had a 1 bedroom Boardwalk view. It was renovated and so beautiful. They did a great job! The couch and all the chairs were so comfortable. The bed was great as well. We lucked out and got a huge balcony which was great! Here are some pics!BW2.jpg BW.jpg bw3.jpg bw4.jpg bw5.jpg bw6.jpg bw7.jpg

Goof, what time of year were you trying to book? I've never had a problem at the 11 month window, but then we usually go at the less busy times of the year, like October, early December and March.
