Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Wow, too much work! This is not published anywhere??

It's not really that much work...each floor has pretty much the same layout of room numbers...even on one side, odd on the other. If you do one of the floors that has rooms the whole length, then you pretty much have all the other floors...

I looked all over to find a layout for resort rooms, and with few exceptions, (Port Orleans, BC & YC...) this was the best I came up with. If you find something else, let us know!

Now I'm really excited for our visit in just 35 days.

Hello all! We are looking to return to our beloved Boardwalk Inn for our trip in May 2016. However, the dates we are looking at have no availability whatsoever at the Inn! (May 7 - 14) Is this due to the room rehab? Are they holding rooms back just in case the rehab is not done? We have stayed Club Level most of the time here and will probably look for that again this time. Any idea what is going on that week? Convention? Please help! I have other options to stay but we really love BWI!

Just back from F&W, we stayed at GF but spent LOTS of time around the BW :) The only think I saw was a cherry picker doing some exterior painting to the far side of the resort (near Jellyrolls). Not noisy at all in the afternoon. I think it was around 2-3pm. So excited! We stopped in the lobby to use the bathroom and the CMs were very friendly. My DH really wished we stayed there (so do I)

We spent one night at Bay Lake Tower in room 7922 a 2 BR villa with a Theme Park View.

We also spent two nights at Boardwalk Villas in a renovated 1 BR. Room #2002. Lots of photos in my album

Thank you for posting the link to all your photos, especially the rehabbed BWV photos - big improvement! Which did you prefer, BLT or BWV?

DD changed her mind:yay: So she is adding a day to see her dad some on Saturday. Now my night alone at BWI has been replaced with party of 2 at MVMCP:santa::santa:!

Then when we move to bc cl in the morning she can get her CL breakfast!

Can you tell i love the change:goodvibes:woohoo::banana:???

Yippee! Nice change:)

Thanks for posting!

Yay, electronic safe! No more safe key. That was so 90s. 1890s.

:rotfl:

It's almost time!

I don't think it would have anything at all to do with a rehab. Could be a convention, but don't give up! I'm sure something will open up. Make sure to check often. It may be that it's only one of your days that's fully booked, like a weekend for a wedding or convention perhaps. Plug in your dates, day by day and see which day is booked. Maybe you could do a split stay if nothing opens up?

You're home already?! That was too quick so it's superterrificlygreat that you have a BWI stay, with the kiddos, coming up soon!

Ok. So I went day by day and found that the 7th, 8th and 13th have standard rooms only available and 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th are booked fully. Darn! I guess I'll keep looking and hope it opens up. We usually wait for a discount anyway. We were looking for rooms for our last trip and there was no availability until the discount came out. Weird!

It was a quick trip, but just long enough for DH and I. He is confident that we will love BWI, and is already asking that I change Poly in July to BC/YC. Just call me a Crescent Lake Convert....I will add the WL will always be in the running (minus the current construction) ;)

First time actually staying at the Boardwalk (BWV) I've stayed at the other hotels around the lake but not the actual Boardwalk until now. Just went on to do online check in and made a couple of requests. (I know not guaranteed but can't hurt to ask) We booked a deluxe studio (I don't recall booking a Boardwalk view as such) but on the room request that was one of them so I went ahead and clicked on that and also clicked on second floor assuming that is the same floor as the lobby.
I was curious about the request for a boardwalk view. Is it anything like at AKL where some of the rooms are technically standard rooms but have a poor view of the savannah? Sorry if it's all obvious but first time staying at BWV.

We submitted paperwork on Friday to buy points at BWV. If things go well, we should own them by the end of January. We love that area and sold of Grand Floridian points to move over to there.

Your welcome. Feel free to use the pics if you want. I can also send them to you if you want.

Loved BLT for the convenience of MK and being able to watch Wishes from the balcony.

BWV will get the nod though as we love the whole Epcot area and Crescent Lake. The renovated rooms are gorgeous. Will soon be our home resort for DVC.

Really only club level on the Inn side is where Boardwalk view is by request. The online check in options are a little wacky. Enjoy your stay!

Is anyone there now? What is the status of holiday decorations at the Boardwalk? We check in on Friday and I am hoping to arrive to that holiday feeling :santa::santa:
Thanks so much!

We are doing the dessert party on the 14th. Would you please post your thoughts. I like the idea of being able to sit and watch the lights. We actually designed this whole trip around it being the last year of the lights- without it even officially being stated yet.
So exciting!

@ninafeliz that sounds like a great trip. We were at the BWI for dinner on a Friday in January. We parked a good distance across the street but there were still a lot of spaces. Worst case you can always valet park....
Someone posted a review this weekend of the Dessert Party. The blanket is choice of blue or red and just has the "osborne light" name on the label. Very plain.:(

The desserts look good tho!

Here is link with info on Merry and Bright Dessert party.

Well this is the 3rd resort thread that I am posting to as being where we are going to stay for a possible early February trip. My kids are making fun of me for being such a resort hopper between here, the Poly and POFQ. But I think the Boardwalk will be the winner. I sure hope the pool is up and going by 2/3. Do all the rooms have daybeds? I though I seen a couch in some pics, but we loved the daybeds at the Yacht Club.

Hey we are checking out today and I haven't been down stairs yet but as of last night there was no holiday decorations in the lobby. If that changes when we get down stairs I will let you know.

As of today we are officially booked at Boardwalk Villas June 7 - 18, 2016. Right now we are in a deluxe studio garden/pool view, but waitlisted for a boardwalk view.

This will be our first time staying at Boardwalk, so we have a few questions. Do all of the rooms have balconies? Are there any "secret" boardwalk view rooms which are classified as garden view and/or do you have a favorite room in that category? What are your best recommendations for a quick service breakfast? From looking at all the menus online it looks like it's pretty limited in hot entree options.

Can't wait until next summer!
