Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

This statement confuses me.

We drove last time. they kept the luggage until our room was ready, once it was our luggage "magically appeared".
Clearly we were not there since it magically appeared.

Exactly. They deliver whether the person is in the room or not. The exception is after midnight when they will not deliver unless specifically asked to do so, or won't deliver if the guest has specifically asked they not do so.

We are at AOA right now. We were just in "the World" in Sept., so this trip is just a quick Christmas party & fun trip for us. This is our 1st visit to AOA. We checked in late last night, magic bands didn't open the room. We had unloaded the car & had kids (who have just finished with colds) standing in the chilly weather at 11pm. I called desk explained situation twice, both times they tried to help & said security would be there soon. Well 20 min later no security. We loaded up drove back to front desk. My husband very nicely went in & explained situation. They apologized, had someone let us in to our regular LM room, and upgraded our remaining nights to the Lion king suite! I'm sitting here right now looking at how amazing this suite is! The LM rm is very nice as well. We will definitely be back! Our first trip to AOA has proven to be amazing so far!

Does the AOA sold Fast Pass+ in the Ink and Paint shop at the AOA? I can't wait to stay in the AOA in Christmas and New Years Eve in 2015!

FP+ are not sold. You can make them online 60 days before your trip of you are staying at a Disney resort.

Looking at the Lion King Suites. Read the description on the first page but confused about "table bed". What is that? Are there 2 separate bedrooms? It would be for 3 adults, an infant and an 11 year old girl. Trying best to figure out sleeping arrangements. Family of 4 plus the the mom.

The dining room table converts to a Murphy bed very easily. There is only one bedroom. The other two sleeping areas are in the same room. A pull out couch and the Murphy bed. Two bathrooms. Your group should be accommodated well in this room. We were just upgraded on arrival from a LM room to the LK! They actually gave us a choice of any suite at AOA. It was a very slow week...12/11.

We loved the LK room.....so functional and fun!

How comfortable is the Murphy bed for 2 adults? If we stay in a suite, it'll be because we have my FIL with us (give him the queen bed in the bedroom, the kids would share the sleeper sofa and DH and I would take the Murphy bed).

On our stay the Murphy bed was the most comfortable. The bed in the room was just so stiff and we usually sleep on a stiff bed but this was pushing it.

Is there a good place to put an air mattress on the floor in a suite? We will have 6 in the room but for our sleeping arrangements we will need our son to have his own space.

Edited to ad we stayed at AoA in 2012 but we only had 4 people and were in a LM room.

We had a similar situation when we stayed in a LK suite last year. My daughter used an air mattress and she put it in front of the "kitchenette"/next to the sofa bed so she could watch TV at night. We could have also put it between the wall and the table bed -- sort of in the pathway from the Master bedroom to the second bathroom (but you still would have been able to walk through that area). And there would have been room for it in the master bedroom as well. During the day, we stood the mattress on end and put it between the "kitchenette" and the sofa so that it was out of the way.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already, I can't seem to find an answer! I am wondering about entrances to the buildings...I'm trying to stay closest to the main building as I can. I have looked at a map and think Building 1 in the Cars area will be best for us. I'm wondering if you have to walk to the middle of the building to access the stairs and elevators, or if there is some on the ends? Thanks for any answers!

If it's set up like the Nemo suites, the elevator / main door is in the middle section of the building.

When you do your online check in, 60 days in advance, you can select "near elevator" as one of your choices. Or you could choose "near transporation"

Nemo will be the closest, not Cars.

There are rooms in both Cars and LK that are closer than some rooms in Nemo; it just depends where in the building you end up.

Yes, there are doors/stairs in the ends of each building, but we never used them, so I'm not sure if you can enter that way or exit only.

We've stayed in Cars and LK and never had an issue with distance to the main building, but we don't have any mobility issues. As PP noted, "near lobby" and "near transportation" are what you want. I'd pick the building based on my preferred theme.

We stayed in Cars Building 1 and it was very close to main building and Nemo pool. There's a path at the back, which is right near the elevators. It's a personal choice and I haven't seen the other rooms to compare, but we loved the Cars theming...so cute (and that also comes from our DS who was Cars obsessed about 3 - 4 years ago, but now is quite anti-cars). We were originally booked in Lion King 10, which is also supposed to be close.

I just changed from CSR to CBR....please any tips about the resort will be appreciated. I have stayed at AKL once and POFQ 5 times- so this will be a whole new WDW experience.

Thanks All!!

I think you posted this on the wrong thread. May want to repost to make sure it gets seen.

But while you're here... ;). I've stayed at CBR once and really enjoyed the main pool and beach areas. Wouldn't have liked having to take stairs up to the second floor if I'd had small kids (or older folks) with me at the time. The rooms were pretty large though, and I thought the grab and go food selection was pretty nice. We loved AKL (and AoA....), but I think you'll like CBR too. Having the outside doors was the only minus for me. Have fun!

There are doors at the end if the building you can enter and exit from. Stayed in LK and just walked thru the halls to the end if the building to escape the heat ( it was late aug over 100 some days)
