Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

I would book now if you want to stay in a LM room because they sold out. If you're looking at a suite, I think it's safe to wait a little bit but keep in mind that some promotions exclude AoA (especially LM room).

How far in advance do they usually sell out? We are going in November also. I was going to make my reservation in May in order to make ADR's.

I stayed at Art of A last October, with my adult son, in Nemo. (he has special needs).

I am a DVC member, and we usually stay in a DVC 1BR, but I was out of points. I loved Art of A, and I loved walking around, esp in the evening. We had the quick service food plan, which was great staying there with the food court. Once we walked over and ate at Pop, that is a nice walk over the nice bridge. (different menu and the tie dye cheesecake).

I slept in the Murphy bed, comfortable and easy to open a close.

The resort is lovely after dark, I hope to get Cars section in October. (I booked but was not able to reserve a particular section). I want to try all 3 suite sections.

I booked a LM room for june at the end of february exactly 100 day away and had no trouble. Since nov is "slow" season I think you'll be fine booking in may :)

Yeah I may just go ahead and book now... Its not terribly expensive and I figure its better to get what you want. If they put out discounts, I can always try and see what I can get. I was mainly looking to see what the Florida resident discounts will be. Although Ive been in NYC for 10 years now, I still have my FL DL!! Just cant give it up!

i am trying to decide where to book, we usually stay at Bonnet creek in a 2 bedroom for the price of what the LM room would be. I hate to give up all that extra room for a week. I know my son would love the "kachow" section and my girls are wanting to stay on property, but now that offsite guests can get magic bands.....I don't know.

Pretty excited just snagged a LM room for our last night of our trip in May. Decided to add a night and shockingly LM was available. We stayed in a cars suite in June!

I was wondering in the suites is there room for an air mattress? We have a total of 7 in our party. Three adults, three kids and a toddler so I was hoping to use an air mattress. TIA

Yes, plenty of room for a single-sized air mattress in the suites. None of our 4 kids likes/wants to share a bed so we planned to use 2 air mattresses when we were there last year. Our then 8 yo decided she liked the seat cushions from the couch as a bed (I wrapped them in a sheet) and they fit perfectly between the pull-out couch and the wall (I've read about other kids doing that as well). She called it her fort. Our then 13 year old used an air mattress and put it in front of the "kitchen"...next to the pull-out couch (opposite side as the "fort"). During the day we stood the mattress on end and wedged it between the "kitchen" and the couch. That kept it out of the way when we were moving around the room. There would also be room for an air mattress in the master bedroom.

This is good to hear. We have five kids who will be 16 mos, 6, 8, 13, and 13 (twins) on our WDW trip next year. Our oldest DD doesn't like sharing a bed and oldest DS has some sleep issues which make it difficult for him to share a bed with anyone, so if we have the opportunity to stay in a suite here I am glad to know that there will be enough space to comfortably accommodate an air mattress or two.

Currently staying at AoA in the Cars Suite.. We have been here since Sunday. Check in was great, fast and easy. My 9 year old son loves the Cars theme and the decorations. My 1 year old says high to the Cars every time we walk by.

They are doing remodeling in the food court.

The only thing that has been disappointing is that there are no blankets in this room. There are only sheets on the bed. The towels are very small and thin.

Doors are not magnetic and there really isn't any reason to decorate your window for most rooms. You can't see the decorations.

Ask me anything and I'll do my best to get you an answer.

Thanks
Allison

What kind of remodeling?

Not sure what is behind the wall. I'll try to find out tomorrow. I don't remember it being there on Sunday when we arrived but I could be wrong. When you first walk into the food court there is a huge white wall taking up the whole left side with a sign that says something like please excuse our mess while we work to better your enjoyment. (I didn't quote that.)

We had extra blankets in the "seat" part of the "closet" in the living room when we were there. We also called mousekeeping to bring extras. Try calling them or leaving a note in the room. They should be able to bring you blankets. They aren't super thick blankets and they were sandwiched between the sheets on the beds so I didn't notice them at first.

When I reserved online for a LM room I forgot to request a pack and play for my youngest. Should I call them now or wait at online checking to request one? We are staying at AoA in August.

Thanks!

I would call and at that request to your reservation.

Any suggestions for room #s for cars family suites? My DS2 loves mater and McQueen and I was looking at the map online and see next to the pool there are some good areas for view, also looking for the area closest to the food court/busses. I realized you must enter the room from the inside and it's not like PC where we could sit outside the room. If anyone has pictures from rooms please share;) Thank you!!
