Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

We will be staying in a Nemo suite in about a week. Any particular building or room we should request?

or the room you want may be sold out! I was surprised when I made my weekly check for a discount on AoA LM room over marathon weekend (as if lol) and it's no longer listed as available for marathon weekend in January.

Glad we were able to grab two rooms before the rates were officially listed, thanks again to all here who suggested I book then.:thumbsup2

Not sure if this will help anyone or not, but I wanted to book a one night room only LM room before our Free dining package starts at Pop. The Disney site showed no availability, but was able to book a room there through Expedia. I've never booked a Disney room through a website so I don't know if I made a wise choice or not, but Im excited to find out! :)

Review of AOA:

Hey there! We stayed at AOA 7/26-8/1, Finding Nemo Suite Building 5, room 5740. It was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Very close to animation hall, pool was right outside, quiet, and very clean room. I loved that we had so much room, and two bathrooms made a huge difference. I will stay at AOA every time we go back, until my boys are older, (they are 7, & 2.5) now. Pool was fantastic, Landscape of Flavors was great. I really had no complaints whatsoever. Of course I would like to try a stay at a deluxe, but I think the boys loved the AOA so much that will be our "home" when we go! Have a fantastic time!

We were in bldg 4, 2nd floor fairly close to elevators & it was great. I didn't make any requests as I figured we'd be good no matter which bldg/floor we ended up with in Nemo. If being on a higher or lower floor matters to you, or if being closer to Animation Hall or buses is important you might want to make a request like that. We loved the 2nd floor as we don't have any strollers or scooters & liked taking the stairs. Most (if not all) of the rooms in that section (both bldgs) are very convenient to everything you'd need. Bldg 4 is on the Cars side so slightly closer to that pool, & 5 is on the LK/LM side. Have a great trip!!!

You will be fine. You can even do the magic express by booking through Expedia. Enjoy your 1 night stay!:cool1:

I'm doing the same thing. I booked the LM room for one night and then going to POR w/ free dining for the rest of our trip. I actually booked mine online because when i called a CM told me they didn't have it available but if I saw it online as available I should book it right away. That was yesterday evening. We had our POR reservations first so I just decided at the last minute to book the LM room for an additional night to our vacation. We will be staying there first with no park tickets or dining plan. So we will just go to DTD for shopping and meals as well as the food court at AOA and of course enjoy the pools on our first day there. The next day we will head to POR for our Royal room.

We are here now. We have a Lion King room because there were no discounts offered on Nemo rooms. We are in bldg 6, first floor, right on the corner. My room is actually closer to the pool, restaurant, and transport than a room in Nemo. The decor is not so nice, but LK was a lot less per night than Nemo.

Have a great time! I'm jealous because I have a year to wait. We are staying in the LM section. Have fun!

Hello! we are thinking of planning a trip in late September/early October. Just had a few questions ;)

1. Is the free Dining Plan ever offered at the AOA resort?

2. We wanted to stay in a nemo suite, what building is close to the buses and restaurant?

So excited to start planning!

I don't know about the fall free dining, but we got the Stay Play Dine offer for a LK suite last January!

For the Nemo section, since you will be entering through the back of Animation Hall for both the restaurant and to cut through for the buses, both buildings are pretty equal distance. Definitely the closest section!

September 26/October 7th 2012 we had free dinning in Lk . At that time Lm was not included .

Is there any storage under the clothing hanging rack in the den? I see a small bench but does the top lift up?

Also, is there a good space for a blow up single mattress? Our kids will not be able to sleep together...

We stayed in a Nemo suite about a year ago. If I remember, there is storage in the bench. We had a couple of kids that did not want to sleep together. So, we used the cushions that came off the couch when it was made into a bed. Put them on the floor, and they were more than comfortable. Plenty of room to do that.

Yes, there is a storage bench there -- it had extra pillows and blankets in it when we stayed in a LK suite in June. There is actually quite a bit of "storage" space in the suites. The shelves in the "closets", the top of the kitchen cabinets, and there are several "nook" type spots throughout the room that we were able to store suit cases and rubbermaid bins of supples.

Also, is there a good space for a blow up single mattress? Our kids will not be able to sleep together...

Yes, there are a few good locations for an inflatable mattress. Our then 8 yo DD used the couch cushions like a PP mentioned and those fit between the sofa bed and the wall so that "bed" was out of the way. I just asked for extra pillows and blankets to use for it. We had an air mattress for her but she liked her "cushion bed". Our 13 yo DD used an air mattress and put it in front of the "kitchen" next to the sofa bed so she could see the TV. You would also be able to put one beside or at the foot of the table bed. And there would also be room for one in the Master Bedroom.

Hey! My family was originally planning to stay at the Contemporary, but opted to make the switch to AoA instead. Not only are we going to be saving a LOT of money, but we're super excited to see the fun theming of this hotel. We have a Lion King room :) We're also on the Dining Plan! We'll be staying at Disney from 7/6-7/12

I am thinking about my trip for June 2015 and I'm hoping to stay at AOA in a Nemo suite! I've already contacted a TA and she said rates will be released for that time summer 2014. Will I have trouble getting a Nemo suite if I book as soon as the rates come out??

The frig and freezer at AOA are pretty good size. Yes a gallon size freezer bag should fit fine!

So we have six. 50, 48, 25, 18, 16, 15. We can get a Family room here Lion king or Cars. i just have a few questions sorry if they have been answered but these threads can be overwhelming to a newbie.
1. I have read it is a very long walk to buses and to food court? Which is a better choice?
2. I am concerned about kids sleeping on table bed and couch bed. My 16 yr old is 6' tall, and my other two boys are about 5'10". The are fit boys but weight between 160 and 175. Our DD is only 5'2" but now that i type that I guess I would be sleeping with her so that would mean my huband who is about as tall as the boys but weighs more like 220. OK...sorry...to get to my question....can boys/men this size sleep on table bed/couch TOGETHER? Uncomfortable sleep will mean cranky people by the end of the week and my DH has a bad back.
3. Is there a frig in the room? Coffee pot? Microwave?
Thanks so much in advance for your answers/help.
