Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

Isn't that just the most mind boggling thing? It's like they tried hard NOT to make it easy to get from those rooms to the bus stop. :confused3

Yes, I felt like that at every turn! One day I had to run back to the room by myself, so when I went back down I took the stairs. Even there, it's not like you have a straight line to the sidewalk. You have to, like, walk around in a square to get around the plants. It's nice to look at but so oddly laid out. Like they paid no heed to where and what people would actually be walking to.

We were there 10 days and didn't have any issues with mousekeeping.

And I say better a dead bug on the ceiling than a live one. ;)

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that. And ha! When you put it that way, I feel a bit better about it. :rotfl:

We are at AoA right now. It is really cool. We were disappointed to wake up and find Ramone is boxed in. When we arrived, we found the Sheriff is fenced in. I'm guessing Ramone is being repaired. We have seen kids and adults climbing all over them and someone has peeled off Lightening's headlight decal and parts if his other stickers. Sally's hood ornament is also peeled off. It amazes me that people let their kids climb all over and destroy the cars.

I would honestly pay the extra and go for the suite. We are a single income family of 5 and money is tight, but... We went this past January with my parents and sister as well, so had 8 of us. We went for 2 Little Mermaid rooms because it was cheaper obviously b/c there was 8 of us. However, we found the rooms a very tight fit for all of us and the beds were very small. The longer walk wasn't too bad. Part way through our trip our son got very sick with an infection and we spent time in emerge and 3 days of our trip were really a nightmare (especially for our first time there). The staff at the Resort was awesome and upgraded us for our last couple of days at the Resort to 2 Cars Suites. The bed was much bigger and more comfortable for my husband and I. The pull out couch bed and table bed looked and seemed comfortable too. It was awesome to have the 2 bathrooms too and more room to put food and clothing. If you have only 6 people I would honestly go with a suite for the extra money instead of 2 Little Mermaid rooms. But if you would have to pay for two suites it would be probably not worth it, but just know that the rooms and very small and a bit uncomfortable. But really, you shouldn't be in your rooms that much anyways, you should be touring around the whole time. :)

On another note, the mouse keeping has been excellent. We've had fresh towels, beds made and the room cleaned daily. The food has been good too.

Glad you are having a great time! Are you in a suite or the LM rooms?

So I'm checking in in August before my college program and I have a question. The room is in my aunts name, but they are leaving before I check out of the room. Will I have any issues checking out without her?

Do people really check out any more? Unless there are issues you need resolved, all you really have to do is leave.

Oh ok, I didn't know if you had to settle like if you charged things to the room or anything like that.. Thanks :D

I normally do that the night before we leave when we're back from the park for the last time. That way in the morning you can just leave.

Since we are talking about charging on your KTTW card, does anybody know if they still have the policy where at a value you can charge up to $500 and then you have to pay it off before you can charge again? Last time we had the dining plan so it's been a while since I did this.

They still had that when we were there a few weeks ago. If you leave a credit card on file, they will just automatically charge it when you get close to $500 and restart your $500 limit on the KTTW card. According to the CM I talked to they run reports twice a day (morning and evening) and when they see someone close to the $500 limit they just automatically charge your card. We did have one night that we were at Fantasmic that we had our KTTW card rejected because we were over the $500 limit. I always carry a few gift cards and my credit card with me so it wasn't an issue. I went to the front desk the next morning to make sure it got paid and we could use our KTTW cards for charging that day and it had already been taken care of.

If you don't keep a credit card on file at the resort, you'll have to stop in at the front desk and take care of your charges at some point during your stay.

We are booked for a Cars suite for our November 2014 trip, and I am SUPER excited.....I'm probably more excited than my kids!!! My question is about the pull out beds.....how does this work with mousekeeping.....do we leave the beds pulled out or do we pull the bedding off and fold them up??? I'm just curious because we've always done regular room, not a suite, and wanted to make sure what the procedure is for the pull out beds. Thanks!!!

Thanks. We are in a cars suite.

They took the wall down from the sheriff and Ramone today. It made my little guy very happy! I'm so sad to leave tomorrow. I wish we had done fewer park days and more days here.

We kept the Murphy bed down all week. We didn't use the sofa so I'm not sure.

We always folded up the murphy/table bed so we could eat breakfast there in the morning. Some days I pulled it back down before we left the room, other days I didn't. We always left the sofa bed open when we left the room in the morning. Every day we'd come back and both beds would be made up but returned to their "closed" position -- in other words, we had a table and a sofa when we walked in the room.

So if you have a credit card on file, you don't have to take care of the charges? You can just leave in the morning? I've never stayed at a Disney Hotel so I'm just curious as to how it works.

Yes. It's called express check out. They will charge your card and email you the bill.
