It has been confirmed during a hard hat tour that the doors will have RFID but maybe if no wristband, the KTTK will have to have the chip it them.

Maybe. They are using rfid in the Mk now in the form of the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game. So maybe it will work like that? Seems silly to have to re-upgrade with the bracelets later though.

Cant wait till May 31st so we can read some reports of the first guests. I read about the rfid door locks a while back. I think posted the link on here somewhere. It said in the article guests can wave their card in front of the door lock so I just assumed they would still be using cards. But of course that might change before anyone actually checks in , if they have the bracelets ready to go by then.

When husband was a manager for Great Wolf Lodge they had the rfid and we had to use those uncomfortable plastic bracelets . They were the kind you couldnt take off and man they were so uncomfortable . You would wake up at night with the bracelet all the way up your arm cutting off your circulation. My kids hated wearing them 24/7 also. You needed them for the waterpark not just the room so you were kinda stuck keeping them on until you left. Then you had to cut them off with scissors. Thankfully the Disney ones look removable. I hope they have a plan in store for when they got lost though, especially if people have money on them.

I looked at the map you linked us to ( thanks by the way !) and it looks like the bulding by the pool will be restrooms and guest laundry.

I was reading the story that went along with the picture of those bracelets, and it looks like you will be able to customize them, get different ones, and such like that. Also looks like it actually wraps around the whole wrist like a watch bracelet. I also can't wait until May when we hear more stories about the opening and such!

WooHoo! Just added 2 days to the front of our trip. Now arriving Sept. 18th.
The CM was very sweet and efficient. Seems like more rooms/dates are open if you call in.

The beds are doubles - we manage 2 adults under 6ft just fine. Not sure how comfortable a tall person would be...I wonder if there are extra long beds anywhere on property. We are so exhausted at the end of the day that sleep has never been a problem, so I would say comfy enough. My problem is always with pillows. I have to take my own wherever I stay because hotel pillows are too fat.

I thought the bed in Sports was comfortable when we were there - although I was so tired I could barely tell the difference! My DH is 6'5" and he was ok in the bed - although he slept alone in one bed and I was in the other with DD but he never really voiced any complaints (other than the fact that it wasn't his water bed!)

My husband is 6'3" and he's never complained about the beds in our value stays. But like funfire, we are so wiped out at the end of the day we fall asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.

In fact, now that I think of it, I must not be picky because I really couldn't tell you the difference between any bed I've stayed in at any of the 8 resorts we've been to at Disney so far!
We are that tired at the end of the day I guess, because I'm particular about the bed at home.

I would think that you'd have a great view from the upper floor rooms that face AWAY from the lake. If that's wrong, someone please correct me, but DHS and EPCOT are West of Pop and AoA, so the West side of the resort (away from the lake) should be able to see fireworks.

Yes, the fireworks are from Epcot but you need to be on top floor facing the lake from POP. Not sure if you will be able to see them from AOA because of the trees across the street.

Not a good idea to have to wear them 24/7.

My guess it that the AOA will have special KTTK cards at 1st and then switch to bracelets when the whole world goes Rdif. But who knows.
I can't wait either for May 31st. I will be glued to the computer waiting for updates.

WOW!!! Makes it all seem more real to finally see pictures of the check in area and the gift shop!

I almost want to stop looking at pictures so I am surprised when I get there in August. I know I won't be able to not look for that long though!

I remembered that Cars Land in Disney California Adventure is going to have a Sarge's Surplus Hut too, a shop for clothes & toys. So perhaps there will be some kind of shop or snack store at the AoA Sarge's Surplus Hut. Sarge has a chain!
