Thank you for the great links:) I am so excited..we only have 110 days until our stay in Finding Nemo:)

We are going 9/15-9/22/12. It will be me, DH, DS (6yrs old), DM and DMIL. Per the WDW site LM rooms are $97 weekday and $112 weekend in September which is the same as POP. The suites are $249/$279. So it's $55 more per night to stay in 1 suite vs. 2 LM rooms. So like Smitch425 said that is over $400 for a week!
A suite sleeps 6 but 2 rooms sleep 8.
I cannot understand why the suite is so much more. :confused3
I know it comes with a microwave and a dining area but is that really worth an additional $55 a night?

I am just really disappointed that the suites are so much more because they look very cool and I really want to stay in a suite but am having a hard time justifying the additional cost.

Either way I will just be happy to be in WDW. :yay:

oh boy..I said "I think" I didn't price it. but apparently the LM section is the same or just a littel more than pop. nothing to warrant any "we paid much more for this". I am surprised at the price of the suites. now that there are fridges at pop, the addition of a microwave isn't that much more. and you get 2 bathrooms with 2 rooms at pop. OR 2 rooms at LM, anyway.

in aug. we are going with our son, his wife, and our grandson. we decided the suite would be just a little "too much" togetherness for a week. so, staying at POP.

we have been anticipating the opening of "the Legendary years" for a long time, and I still think the 2 should be sister resorts. they are set up that way.

one year we stayed in the Mighty ducks section of All star Movies, and most of the time used the Music food court and buses.. it was closer to our room. Pools? sometimes we used the mighty ducks pool by our room, sometimes the fantasia pool, sometimes the calypso pool. It didn't matter to anyone. at the parks, if a music bus was there,we grabbed it and then walked over to our room.

now that I read a PP about the jogging trail being joined, and the parking lots, we will definitely be enjoying AOA food court on our aug trip! yay!
and we will check it out for when we book a LM room for next year! (maybe there will be a bounce back!)

is the LM section of AOA really any farther from the main pool/food court, etc. than the mighty ducks section of All star movies is from the main area?
at LM, you need to walk through the Lion king area to get to the main pool, etc.

at Mighty ducks, you need t walk through the Dalmations area to get to the main area.

at the HOme Run Section(sports) you need to walk through the touchdown area to get to the main area.

AOA seems to be set up much the same as these 2 all stars resorts.

now, at music, it is a total dif. layout.

we stayed in bldg. 2 at POP, in the 50's section once. it was quite a walk along the whole bowling pin pool, then through a courtyard, to the main section.

I did notice that the LM did change a bit already from when it was first shown at D23. In particular the location of Flounder and Sebastion.

These were the first images shown of the concept back at D23 .The have since moved them way up on the wall. Image toward the bottom

Here the walls are shown white ( scroll down a bit ) , of course now they are blue , which I like much better.

Also not sure everyone has seen what the inside of the shower/bath area will look like . Its the cave from the movie where Ariel keeps her treasures hidden from her dad. Very cute !

As far as the dresser goes that has got to change if they plan to put refridgerators in the room , the location of the octopus coat hanger also. If you look on the official site it shows a empty space below where the octopus is, however its also the location of the connecting room door. And that leaves no space at all .

* Click this link for a really great view of the room from the opposite side ( of the one shown on the official Disney site that is) .

Some interesting non official info regarding the Cars section . http://themeparkcanuck.com/2012/04/16/wand-prototypes-art-of-animation-details-more/

I also had one pic here where it appeared that the picture by the bed with prince Eric was lit up. Could just have been the lighting but it certainly looked it. If I can find it again I will post the link.

I love the bathrooms and beds!

I would edit my post but it won't let me....but

If you go to http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/art-of-animation-resort/
and click on Rooms and click the arrow that show pictures of all the rooms, the last two show the LM room and bathroom. I saw these last week and was not sure people on here have. :-)

The room looks like it needs some boarder or something. Maybe they had to special order it and it was not ready yet at the time they did the mock up.

It does look like it needs a border! I hope they add one. It seems lacking and bare at the top. LOL

I've been analyzing the heck out of the ASMo map. LOL
I think the difference is that the Ducks and Herbie buildings are slanted in and overlap or almost overlap the 101 Dalmatians and/or Fantasia sections making them closer. The LM buildings seem like they are out there on their own. I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't look as far out as it seems.

They can't possibly be as far away as some of the CBR rooms are to the main buildings, right. Eek!

I had my heart set on staying in one of the new Lion King Suites, but it's just me and DH. Not sure if I can justify the huge price difference between a family suite and a standard room. We will just be there for 2 nights before our cruise, and we're never in our room; we always spend every minute in the parks. I also doubt we'll have time for anything more than a quick evening dip in one of the pools. For our last 2 cruises we stayed at POFQ and loved it. But the AOA resort is a must for our next cruise. So, should I book a standard room at AOA and just stroll over to the Lion King section for fun and photos? :confused3
Other family members in our party are thinking about the LM rooms. Really wish they had standard rooms available in EVERY themed section of AOA! Did they mess up on that one??

decided to switch to AoA from POR. been on hold for almost 30minutes. CM cant get it to come up, but ive pulled it up online about 5x during the conversation. gaaah hope they can switch it for me.

Cinder73, so far I've had no problems with logging in or staying logged in.
I'm so hoping that the LM ride will be open when we go, but we're not going until after Thanksgiving. I truly hope that it will have a soft opening, at least, for all of our 'Sept. AoA Dis'ers'. It would be perfect for all of us in the LM rooms! I always love your links, but this time I didn't look at it. I want to be surprised the first time I ride thru the LM ride whenever it does open!!!
I heard that the 'Be Our Guest' restaurant is supposed to have a soft opening sometime in September with ADRs being accepted for November. I will keep my fingers crossed that this is true so you Sept. guys can definitely enjoy the new restaurant. :thumbsup2 I'm very excited about it, myself! I hope they are still having the audioanimatronic Lumiere!!!

Well, the Big Blue does have a fence around it; the other value pools do not. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that our RFID card/wristlet is good for the room key and the pool gate, also. Has anyone heard one way of the other about this? It could be the beginning of all pools being gated and the end of 'pool hopping' forever (since you're not supposed to do it, anyway).

LOL, I spoke too soon, Cinder73....I just had to log back in to submit my last post!

I cant believe I just now saw your post. Must have missed it before. I am still getting logged out all the time.

As many pics as I have looked at I never noticed the pool had a fence ! I am so glad you mentioned that. I went back and looked and it actually blends in rather well. I agree , I think it will be opened with a room card or bracelet. Im curious to see if they end up testing out the bracelets on us first. They will already have the stuff in place. And I am really excited about the interactve stuff they will do on the rides.

YAY! finally all booked at AoA. Took a while but the CMs were nothing but sweet and helpful. Cannot wait!!!

What are the cones going to be used as???? Does anyone know???

I think the best map-to-map comparison is to look at the LM buildings vs. the 80's/90's buildings at Pop. They share the same "spot" in property layouts that complement each other. But, the LM buildings are pointed differently that the 80's/90's buildings. LM points "away" from the AoA main building while the 80's/90's buildings curve around and allow a shortcut across parking to get to buses.

What are the cones going to be used as???? Does anyone know???

Silly! To show you where not to drive or park! ;)

Just kidding -- good question! Just decoration, or will they serve some watery purpose?

It looks lke the front bottom area of each cone is open . Maybe the cones will be cabanas they will rent out ?

Or maybe one will be snowcones, another where they hand out towels and a towel return or something...?

Are there photos/pictures posted anywhere on this thread of the interior of the standard rooms at AoA?

I stayed in the 80's on my last trip and didn't think the walk was too bad at all. But I also travel as a solo adult, so being slightly farther from the main building wasn't really an issue. The only time I really would get tired of the walk is when I just wanted to refill my mug.

Has anyone been getting signed out of the boards all day ? I have to keep relogging in.

Anyway wishful thinking I know , but do you guys think there is a chance that the LM ride might be open for a soft opening by Sept ? How awesome would it be to stay in the rooms AND get to ride the ride ?

I think I heard they may some little tweaks to what our Lm ride will be like compared to the one in Disney Land . Here is a link to their's. I imagine it will be pretty much like the same thing overall. It looks really cool.

Of course I am keeping my fingers crossed for Be Our Guest resturant also. Someone posted that they usually dont start taking reservations opening intil a month or less than before the soft opening.

Wouldn't it be awesome if LM ride was open for Sept!!!!!I read different views on this on another disney forum....some saying maybe some saying NO Way!!I am really hoping so though!I have a not-so -disney husband who it really takes some coaxing to get him to do Disney!!Went last May but I don't think I'll get him there 3 years in a row!haha!

Great guess! Yes, I heard that the cones were to be cabanas. There aren't enough for all of the people so I don't know if they will be for rent or if they will house some sort of CM supplies for activities or swim jackets, etc.

I want to stay there when I take my son for his 4th birthday... in 4 years haha :lmao: Can you tell I'm excited?!

I was thinking that also but I wondering where you would rent them?? Not really any staff around the little pools but the life guard when they are on duty. But maybe they would have someone just to rent them out?? Not sure about that since there is only 8 of them. Maybe they will be 1st come 1st serve. like the table around a pool and since I really don't see any place for tables around the pool. They do look big enough for a few people to get into, look at the size of the worker.

On the concept art all you see is trees which they have already placed...Blueish green dots around cones. :-)
