I booked an entirely new resort reservation, and I'll just have my TA cancel my Pop one tomorrow. She's good about getting stuff done right away, but I don't think she'd check her e-mail tonight to get my I need a Little Mermaid room message.

I'm so excited right now I'm literally shaking.

Thank you! It was actually quite a bit more(we won't tell my dh exactly how much...eek!) and I will miss the boat to DTD, but the kids won't believe it.
The values are just so great for them.

Free dining doesn't look like it's working out to be a good deal for us at all...definitely not free. What am I missing? In order to get it, we lose our Fl res discount on tickets. To book free dining and upgrade to the plus dining as the values is only quick service, we'd pay $1359.40 for 4 nights. If we don't book free dining, we will pay $901.82 for 4 nights including FL res tickets but have to pay OOP for food. Paying $457 for 'free' dining doesn't seem like a deal at all.

Free dining doesn't work for everyone. You have done the math, so if you don't come out ahead money-wise, then it is definitely not for you.

Nope, not missing anything except that you already have a discount us 49 other states don't qualify for!

I am right there with you . Boy they sure made us sweat for it didn't they ? I was about to give up on it ! Then again I am sure most of the "normal" people still havent even realized they have free dining there yet. lol We Dis'ers are a crazy lot !

Just wanted to share with everyone what we decided. As you know we had 2 Lm rooms booked with a 10% AAA discount. I know my son really really loves Cars so I really wanted to get the Cars suite. But with our upcoming move to Florida ( near Disney , yeah!) I wanted to save as much as possible. It has been a bad year and we need the break so we didnt want to forgo a trip altogether , even though its the logical thing to do. We figure we will scout some things out.

Anyway I asked my son today if he would rather have the Cars suite or a bit of extra spending money . He said that he was fine with whatever and if we could save a little and have extra spending that the LM rooms were fine with him and he would be happy no matter what. Hes a great kid and I am so happy we now have the 2 LM rooms booked with FD. I didnt realize it was a 400 deposit ! But it will just come off the price of the room anyway .

Never done FD before so I have no idea how it works . Plus we deal with food allergies so I hope it will work out for us.

Oh sorry to write a book but I do want to let you all know that they will have a fridge in all the rooms for sure also. I kinda figured they would but didnt see it anywhere in the room on the site.

Congrats to all and thanks to Glitzy for the great links to the info and resort map. I already printed 3 ! lol We need to start a whos going when thread / section. Hope to see some of you Dis'ers there.

What is the benefit of booking a suite vs. 2 rooms? We have 4 adults and 1 child and it is $433 more for the suite vs. 2 rooms. I realize the theming is personal preference but is that all?

I just want to make sure I am not missing anything. TIA!

Disney is great with food allergies! I was eating a mostly vegan diet last year, so had no eggs or dairy marked on a lot of my ADRs, and Disney was awesome about it.

If you have any questions about free dining I'd be happy to answer them, I book with FD almost every year.

I'm really excited for the fridge too. Especially since I upgraded to the deluxe plan this time. I can never finish my entire meal, but with a fridge I can save it and have leftovers for breakfasts and midnight snacks.

I think it's an added kitchen and dining area.

I was all booked for AoA during free dining in August and I was told that they are excluding AoA for that promotion. Has anyone booked the free dining for the last week of August there and gotten free dining? I changed to another resort instead of going to AoA. Anyone???

Yep.. that's when we're booked for. Not in a Little Mermaid room but in a suite. I booked it online with free dining about a week ago

*Eta -- never should have booked through a Ta. I can't call Disney myself, my TA is on vacation and the others in the office are unwilling to help me. I'm going to have to try in the morning.

Oh man! Your TA should be able to answer email while on vacation or have a designated person to take care of her clients while she is gone. Do you have her phone number. I was on vacation the last week of March and was on the phone with clients making changes one morning. It just comes with the job.
The only exception would be if she is out of country or on a cruise, but then she should have someone at her agency there to help out.

Makes sense -- the room rack rate is $5 more per night for LM rooms vs. Pop rooms during this period.

Depends on which pop rooms. I was going to book Pop preferred pool viw, but Little Mermaid standard are slightly cheaper. I'm going with it this time because it's new. I really hate being that far from the main building, but I want to try AoA so much too.
