am joining this merry group of AOA's. I have just switched my ressies to AoA for december. Like many of you I am hoping for FD. I am looking everywhere for pics and to hear all about this resort. I am staying in LM standard room. I hope this is all it is cracked up to be!

Since we travel with a service dog , his kennel , 3 kids , etc. , and a ton of crap I had looked up the floor plan before just wondering where everything could go. I envy people who can travel light !

There are 2 closet areas with a rod and clothes hangers . One is in the main room to the left of the tv and the other in the bedroom to the right of the tv . If you look at this floorplan you should be able to make it out.

You can find both the suite and LM layouts here.

Just an update, in case this is helpful to someone else... once Disney started offering FD for the suites, I really started to think about if there was a way to make it work for my family, since dh will not enter the Parks, but will eat -- and I'm paying rack rate anyway, so no discount there. I got some fabulous advice from Cheshire Figment about the tickets on the package. Tickets which have not been used are completely transferrable. This means I can switch to LK and FD, with buying 2-day tickets for everyone, upgrade the rest of the family's tickets to 4-day hoppers, and save dh's ticket to use myself when I'm back in January for marathon weekend, at which time I can also upgrade that ticket if I so desire. :yay:

This made FD a no-brainer, since I'm not wasting a ticket at all -- I'm pre-purchasing for my next trip! :thumbsup2

I'm tempted to wait and see if Nemo becomes FD available, but perhaps I'll just switch to LK tonight...I don't want to miss the promotion now I've figured out how to use it! ;)

Maria :upsidedow
That's how I see the tickets as well since I usually have an AP. I can use those tickets towards the cost of my next AP, and it makes when I pay for it not seem as bad.

Does anyone belong to Disney Movie Rewards? They're listing a 3 night stay at AoA for 22,000 points. Anyone have that much? LOL

I saw that in the email yesterday as well. We have no where near that many points!! That is A LOT of movies, cd's and bonus codes ! :)

Hi Everyone, I am still on the fence between staying at AoA or POFQ in December. Decisions, decisions !!!!

If we stay at AoA it will be in the LM section since we are a family of 4. I would like the extra space, but not the extra cost of a suite.

I am curious if anyone has any idea how far of a walk it would be from the LM section over the bridge to POP if we want to eat in their food court?

Also, does AoA have its own buses ??

Will the Little Mermaid section have family suites? or just standard rooms?

You guys are awesome! And nobody laughed it me for asking:thumbsup2:rotfl:

It looks like in the suites that one bar/closet area in the living room is enclosed. It appears to be closed off in the drawings so maybe it is an actual closet!! Even if it isn't, there would be dedicated space to put the suitcases underneath:cheer2:

It seems like a silly thing to think about, but my teenage dd would literally plop her suitcase in the middle of the floor and toss things around the room if I let her. If there's a place to put things away, I am a much happier camper. I don't mind a small space, but opening the door after a long day at the parks to her (or anyones) stuff strewn all over the place kills my relaxation mode.

At least at home I can just shut her door:rotfl:

We'll be there on opening day 5/31/12. :cool1: We can't wait to be the first ones ever to use our assigned room. :dance3::yay::woohoo:
It is loads of fun. We were there on the day refurbished rooms opened for POFQ in 2010 and were the first ones in a completely gutted and redone room. It was AWESOME!

Sorry if this has been asked already I did not have time to go through all pages but my question is we are looking to stay end of November at LM does anyone know if the resort will be still under construction and look unfinished? I think it would take away a little of the magic and we would be better staying elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.

ALL opened and finished by Sept. 15th

We are all crazy Disney people here ! We totally get you! lol :goodvibes I know what you mean about teenagers. Pop up hampers and folding storage cubes are my sanity.

I tried calling again today and was told no availability for Free Dining at LM for Sept. 16-22 :( Boo! The CM did say to keep trying though.

Its your check in date. If you could arrive sooner on the 15th those dates would be open. Because of whatever glitch they are having they are the only dates that have shown up as available.

Should be complete by then as the last section to open is the Little Mermaid and that will be completed by Sept 15th. The other areas , food court , and pools will be open even before that.

I would guess 10 maybe 15 minutes tops to walk from LM section across the bridge to Everything Pop. It's not going to be as far as it may appear.

AoA has its own bus stop so you can expect it will have dedicated buses during busy periods. During slower parts of a day they may decide to combine routes. We'll see.

I called today and was able to get all four of our rooms switched to Free Dining at LM for September 15-22! I wonder why it wouldn't work for you?

It's the arrival on the 15th that appears to be working for free dining in LM rooms. Arrivals on the 16th aren't showing availability.

Do we know if AAA or AP discount would be higher for LM rooms? We are only staying one night but I will qualify for either.

Okay, I have a truly crazy question. I will be training for a half marathon while we are in Disney. I don't plan on doing any super long runs while we are there, but I would like to squeeze in a couple. Running is relaxing for me so I actually enjoy running on vacation. Anywhoo...the Disney website says that there is a "jogging trail" on the property. I can't really tell where it is by looking at the aerial pics. Anyone have any guesses? :) Also, is there a running trail at POP? I bet I could run the AOA trail and then run over to POP and do their trail also, if they open up the bridge. Yes, I do realize that being excited about this makes me a little looney! :)
