Yes. Lion King, Nemo and Cars sections are family suites and the Little Mermaid section is standard rooms.

With the exception of the pink mirror in the vanity area, I don't think the LM suites necessarily look all that girly. I have 2 girls and 2 boys, and I think they'd be okay with the rooms at LM. I know the movie itself is a little-chick flick, but the courtyard area looks gender neutral, with the giant icons of Triton and Sebastian.

That being said...I WANNA STAY AT LK!!! There are 7 of us (the youngest will be 6 on our next trip), so we won't be able to fit in a family suite. But, it loooks like we'll either have to go back to ASMo TS (which we love and would be fine with, I guess), or go with LM at AoA, and be content with exploring the LK courtyard area.

Agreed. My boys would LOVE to stay here in LK, Nemo, or Cars. They will be mortified to have to be relegated to LM section. Ha!

honestly, I keep wondering what on earth made them pick these 4 movies. It seems so..........random and such bizarre choices. Why make the only non-suite rooms be geared toward girls? Those should have been more gender neutral. And of all movies to have a whole resort section dedicated to....... Cars? Both my kids didn't make it through the entire movie, and refuse to watch it again (every other Disney movie in our house has been watched multiple times!). I did not like it at all either and I'm a bona fide Disney nut!
If they HAD to do a Pixar movie, I think they should have gone with Toy Story.

i SO wish they had done the classics. I would give an arm and a leg to stay there if it had been Snow White, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, etc.

All-Star Movies already has a whole Toy Story section.

And, really, I doubt Disney's marketing gurus picked those themes randomly. All of those movies were huge money blockbusters for Disney and just because your family did not enjoy a particular movie doens't mean it didn't have or still have enormous commercial success and marketing appeal. Also, as the pp stated, even though the Little Mermaid movie itself is marketed to the Princess set, the LM resort section isn't exactly pink or princessy. We will hopefully be staying there in December and I don't think my son will give it too much notice at all - though he probably would prefer the Cars section if he had a choice.

We loved Cars! Actually liked the 2nd one more than the first! We will be staying in a cars suite in august. My kids haven't seen bambi or dumbo at this point and we would have probably stayed elsewhere if those were the chosen themes.

Hi Dlming,

I think if you go back a few pages you will see a link to some aerial (sp?) shots, and the pool is done and has water in it (mind you it needs a vaccuming). None the less, it is always best to check with reservations, I would hate to have your vacation spoiled, based on a bunch of volunteers that just want to help people have a magical vacation in the most magical place on earth.

I would suggest that at least ONE pool will be open.. and it will likely be the pool in the section due to open first.

Just remember, "a" pool doesn't mean the one you had your heart set on (brand wise) ..

DBF is in the CP and they're "testing" the resort on the CM as early as March! We had the opportunity to stay there but it's just the two of us so the Pop is cheaper. But resort opening is just around the corner

I'm guessing the rooms with fridge built in are the family suites, which (correct me if I'm wrong) are supposed to have mini kitchens. The ones with the fridge for an additional charge are probably the standard rooms.

Can anyone else confirm or deny this? I'd love to know too...it seems to be a waste to book a family suite if it doesn't come with a fridge.

That seems like the logical explanation. I'd assume the standard LM rooms will not include one.

The Lion King, Finding Nemo and Cars family suites have kitchenettes with refrigerators. The Little Mermaid standard rooms do not have refrigerators, but you can rent them, as you can at the other standard value rooms.
