I looked back a few pages and didn't see this posted but the Kidani kids splash area is closed. It's closed off and tarps are over the area. I just read this and was wondering if anyone on this thread has any info about it.

We will be there Dec. 13-22 and I was really hoping for our DGS's first trip he would be able to have some fun there if we had a nice day weather wise.

Well, it's getting closer - we made our FP+ selections Saturday night and yesterday I did online check in. I had been curious to know what my choices would be w/ a Jambo Savanna view villa as I've not read any posts about the villa on line check in options. The choices were Arusha Savanna, Sunset Savanna, close to lobby, Kudu trail. You could choose 2 but I chose only 1 - Arusha Savanna. I'm hoping for midway down Zebra trail, but Zebra trail wasn't an option.

If it's a DVC booking, you should call member services directly (or have the member do it if you rented), and ask them to put your requests on the reservation. If it's a cash booking, just call the main booking line and do the same. The online check in options are very limited.

Totally agree midway down zebra trail, Arusha Savannah, is a great location.

Apparently Jambo Everyone is saying it's closed until Dec 25 trying to find out more info hopefully someone who is there will post that it's open.

And thanks for adding us to the December list so excited for another amazing stay at AKL&V

Thx, I am staying on my own points - but I'd be ok w/ halfway down Kudu as well and probably even happy with a decent Sunset view, so I'll probably just wait and see what we get. The decent view of the Savannah I'm on being more important to me than being on the side of the resort where it's fast access to the pool/Mara, etc..

We are 45 days out today -- I'm too excited. I think counting down the days like this is making them seem longer!

I'm starting to track the dining reservations obsessively to see if I can get any better times from people canceling their plans as we've reached the 45 day mark for payments. So far I've been able to move around some reservations for better times and even scored a Crystal Palace breakfast on Christmas Eve so I don't have to be delayed for rope drop entry!

Looking forward to our first CL stay at AKL. January 8th through the 12th for marathon weekend. DD20 wanted to try and sneak up there during our stay in June so we decided to be official and book it so she wouldn't have to be naughty. We are all too spoiled and love CL stays.

I am a little worried that we will miss not eating at Boma for breakfast since we will have the lounge. Should I go ahead and book one morning or just forget it?

At AKL now, there are no Christmas decorations at the lodge yet. They are some up at the Magic Kingdom. I haven't been to the other parks.

Oh please post pictures when they do decorate... I know I went to Boma's for dinner in 2006 during Christmas time and the lobby was amazing!

I promised myself then when I saw that lobby that I would stay at AKL some day, and I will be now May 2015... I am so excited....

I don't know the opening hours but... Boma is my favorite breakfast in WDW. It has just enough different food to feel like you're not having breakfast at home but has enough of the regular stuff for the picky eaters.
