Hey all, love all the info in this thread. One thing I haven't seen discussed: do the TVs in the rooms (Jambo Arusha View) have the capability for you to plug in an external hard drive to watch your own shows ( it would require a USB port)?
Thanks!

Hey kimmar! (Or anyone who knows this.)

I rented DVC points for my room in Kidani. It's now 20 days until my trip (AHHHHHH! I AM NOT READY) and I wanted to know, should I do online check-in? Any pros/cons?

When I did the room requests, I think I asked for a high floor room, that may have been it. I know they say to request one closer to the elevators, but I'm okay with walking. I'm young, I'll function well as long as I don't sprint all over the place and pull a muscle like I did last trip. :lmao:

Would the online check-in give me a room earlier? (I doubt it, right?) I'm getting in at 8AM, so I figured I would just go to the parks straight from the airport, and have the DME take my tagged luggage to AKV.

Yes, no? I'm confused, help? :p

Bump?

My family is staying at Kidani in about 10 days. I read on another Diseny site that there was construction and the section of the Kidani Pool area for children was closed through Oct. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

I'm here and loving life... Unfortunately tho the kids swimming area is closed for the remainder of the month. My son is bummed but the slides in the pool do help ease the pain a little!

HI! :wave2:
I am beyond excited to stay at AKV for the first time ever. After touring the resort area the last two trips we decided to purchase DVC and make it our home :). Now that the contract is just waiting on the close date I can finally feel safe posting here (I was paranoid that our contract wouldnt go through and my hopes of staying at AKV would be crushed).

SO! for you experienced AKL/V people-

Little about us: its me and DH, and our two awesome kids- DS(8) and DD(5)

Where do you recommend staying for our first trip this coming May- Jambo or Kidani?

Our second trip will be in December- so we will more than likely try out the reverse that Month - ex- Kidani May, Jambo Dec, or vice versa

In May we plan on taking advantage of the nice (hopefully) weather and when we arent at the parks we will be at the pool- so not planning on spending too much time in the room- should we still go for a savannah view for the wow factor- or save that for December when we will be in the room more?

THANK YOU!!!!

I finally get to go to the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival :banana::banana:

I would say kidani in May, and Jambo in December.
Jambo is so grand on a much larger scale, and from the pictures my Dsis showed me of the Christmas tree that is in the atrium, I'd much rather be there. Especially it being Winter and having the huge fireplace there too.

Bothe are very nice though. Have fun deciding.:thumbsup2

....wow.....FINALLY....words of wisdom....popcorn::

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

....I do have to agree with DizDaD7, though...Kidani presents a more intimate space, while Jambo is more grandiose in size....nothing beats the awesomeness of walking into the Jambo lobby around the Holidays and sighting that massive tree!

We returned from a wonderful trip at the beginning of Sept, but for many reasons, I didn't get around to posting very much.

I don't recall seeing anyone mention gluten-free zebra domes before. I know previous trips we were always told they weren't safe for us (celiac's). However, this trip, not only could we have those, but Chef Dave brought us an awesome tray of goodies (Boma).

They look amazing! :thumbsup2

Does anyone here use the DIS mobile app? Was gonna post some pics for everyone but they are all on my phone and not on my PC yet. Don't think you can post pics from the mobile app?
