Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

Does anyone know what type of doors are at the resort?
Strange question I know. But we are looking forward to decorating our door and window on our trip.
Tape and other adhesives are out of the question so I was hoping to use magnets, suction cups or command strips.
Magnets would be my first choice but not sure if the doors are metal or plastic composite or even good old fashioned wood !

Any help would be appreciated :) TIA

Having stayed at the Beach Club villas in the past with my parents, they've always had complimentary wheelchairs available ( on a first come, first served basis, of course ).

is that the case at ASMu?

In your experience at Beach Club were you allowed to use the wheel chair for length of stay? Or just while at the resort? Take it to the parks or just on resort property?

Was just looking into rental prices per day for our stay.
Thanks !

The doors are metal. We used magnets to decorate our door last August.

Have fun decorating!

We've done this twice now, and both times, we were given a wheelchair, free of charge, for the length of our stay ( used in the parks, resorts, even brought to Universal one of the two times ).

I would assume if you do a split stay, you would need to get a chair at the second resort in question. Also, it's "first come first served". Though we haven't hit a problem with getting one, the fact that they say that presumes it's possible that they may run out.

Last time we decorated our window with window clings I put them on the outside of the window because the colour was better and they were all stolen. I got to talking with someone at the pool who had put things on her door and some were also taken.

This is really sad, I will still decorate my door and interior of window. I can hope people wont be awful, but if they are, oh well. I still want to have fun!

assume the possibility for one not being available but ask because you could get lucky, got it, thanks

YAY magnets it is ! thanks !

First, so happy to see this thread on the first page! We found an amazing AP rate at ASMu and just booked a last-minute quick trip. Arriving in less than three weeks with our boys (my husband will sit this one out!) Haven't stayed value in 20 years and brushing up on my research!

As for the magnets, just wanted to add that theft was a concern for us during our DCL cruises. Tons of advice over on the the DCL boards about this. Never lost any magnets to theft, but just in case, I made doubles of all magnets and kept a set on the inside of the door. Also, I put stickers on the backs of the magnets that said, "Please return us to the kids in room [insert stateroom number."] Can't do room number stickers in advance, but maybe leave it blank and fill it in upon arrival. The posters on the DCL boards recommended it - helpful if the magnets aren't actually stolen, but just kids messing around and putting them in another spot.

Would love to see photos of the grab and go area that is now serving as the food court. So if anyone is there in the near future...:cool1:

Yes please! I'd love to see it too :) actually I'd love to see any pictures of the resort ;)

The first page of the thread has many pictures of the resort if you would like to see generic pictures of the pools, lobby, rooms etc.

I saw those :) I just like looking at actual peoples pictures of there stay :)

We just adopted a baby in Florida and have to stay in the state for 2 weeks. So we booked a very last minute stay here. I was bummed to hear about the food court closing. We're in broadway right across from the parking lot so they told us Movie's food court is very close and that the grab and go section will still be open.

I have a doubt, and I don't know if it's ok to ask it here:

I will go to this hotel on my honeymoon, and I have already booked the hotel, but at the web page there isn't the possibility to say that is our honeymoon.

I have read that some people say it, and then they have special attention.

¿Where should I do that?

Just a tiny piece of advice here. There are so many special occasions happening every day that you can't guarantee that you will receive "special attention" Take it from someone who went on our 25th anniversary and was put in a room in AKL with WET CARPET!! If you go with the attitude that "perhaps" something nice will happen and it doesn't you might be disappointed :( Look at it this way, you're fortunate enough to actually be IN WDW to celebrate such a wonderful occasion :lovestruc

Yes, from the Broadway section, a walk to the Movies food court would be more efficient than taking the special bus. When I stayed at Movies previously, I was close enough in Mighty Ducks to use both the Music and Movies food courts.

They are also NOT running designated buses right now which they need to be doing IMO. Some buses are full from their first stop at Sport and then guests have to wait for the next one. They are running a lot of buses but it sure would be nice if they were designated.

During what time of day are you seeing the shared buses? At peak periods, say for example first thing in the morning, they will run dedicated buses. At other points in the day they will switch to shared buses.
