Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

We'll be staying in a suite, June 8-13, 2015. Me, DH, DD (10), my mom, & MIL. Looking forward to following this thread until then. Glad to know the food court refurb will be finished before we are there.

Just switched resorts due to the pool construction at the WL, not really concerned with the Intermission food court construction, as we do granola bars, fruit for breakfast usually. Have DDP and have most lunches and dinners booked :cool2:
1) I have no idea where to start on the room request. It was a couple of years ago when I was here last with DD. And we were so busy, we weren't really at the resort that much. Close to a parking area would be best, we drive our car, don't use buses. :car:
2) is there a bar at the pool? It is just DH and I, and we would like to enjoy an adult beverage while lounging by the pool.:beach:

Love ASMU and had free dining booked Dec 13-19 but was just informed by our TA about the food court being closed during our trip. I think we are now switching to All Star Sport. Food court important to my kids. We usually have lunch or dinner in food court. I think it would just be easier to stay at Sports. Not too happy about it though.:(

Yes, the Singing Spirits bar is right next to the main Calypso pool.

I really like the new food court at Sports, so I hope this works out for you. I think it's a good choice.

Hi everyone! We just got home from our fabulous stay at ASMu. We absolutely loved the resort. Check-in was painless, the rooms/grounds were nice, and busing was plentiful. We never waited more than 10 minutes in either direction. The only thing that threw us for a loop though was some of the other clientele staying with us at the resort. On more than one occasion we heard people yelling profanities at each other around the resort or on the bus because there were no more seats left. This type of language is something we never heard at any of our deluxe stays. However, i'm sure these instances were just an anomaly and we won't hear it again at our next ASMu stay.

I'm glad your stay was good. :thumbsup2 I agree that the profanity was an anomaly because we've stayed about a dozen times at the All Stars and have never noticed any. We rarely use any ourselves (except sometimes when I'm driving. :car::blush:). Not to the other drivers, just under my breath.

I have a stupid question - is there a water fountain in the lobby area anywhere? Possibly by the door to the transportation area and/or near a bathroom? I vaguely remember encountering one but I don't remember if it was at the All-Stars or at Pop/AoA.

I'm going back to ASMu next month and I'm thinking I want to use the hotel ice machine each morning to fill my filtered water bottle and misting fan, and then top them off with a water fountain on my way out to the buses. Usually I fill a water bottle at the food court drink machine, but the bad taste of the water won't matter with the filter in the bottle, so hey. :thumbsup2

Don't recall if there is a fountain or not. If there is one it would be over near the washrooms. The water in the food court would be the same filtered water anyway and just as easy to go in there.

We've booked a hearing accessible room at ASMu for November. OH is Deaf and I'm blind (they didn't have visual impaired rooms anywhere in Disney?).

Anyway with the refurb we are worried I'll struggle to get between resorts for food, is the route between the hotels quite easy to get around?

Also does anyone know where the Hearing accessible rooms are? We would like a king but the lady on the phone said that kings aren't guaranteed.

Hello everyone! I'm about to book our stay at ASMu for the Princess Half Marathon weekend Feb. 19-26, 2015. Quick question: the last two trips to ASMu, we were put in Country Fair (LONG walk, especially after a day in the parks), we're not really interested in staying in Calypso (close to buses, but LOUD since it's right near the main pool), especially since we don't need a family suite since it's just the two of us. How hard is it for two adults to get a standard room in Rock Inn or Broadway? We like the quietness, plus my bf is in a rock band so I'm sure he would love for us to stay at Rock Inn if we could. I won't be too disappointed if we have to stay in Country Fair again, but it would be nice to mix it up a little bit since we've stayed there twice already.

Thanks!

Our trip is only ONE MONTH away! We are staying Fri-Mon at AoA in a LK Suite, but since we are driving in on Thurs, decided to stay on the resort (instead of a motel) and are staying at ASMusic! Very excited to get to check out TWO resorts on our short trip!! This thread has been very helpful!

Shouldn't be too hard to get into Broadway, since it's pretty far from everything. We requested a quiet location and were put in the top floor, next to the parking lot. It was quiet, but far from the main area.

Ditto this. We stayed the first week of June and requested Broadway top floor just a week in advance and were able to get it. I put in the request via online check in.

I'm going to be visiting music for the first time soon!

I went to sports last year and was wondering does anyone know if the room layout is the same? Just thinking of putting through a request for the same room no as we had in sports.

I don't want to be by the pool too much noise! But would still like to be close to main building for the buses.

Also the food court is closed while I'm there, but because my package didn't include free dinning I don't think it will make much difference to us. We were in sports last year when that was getting done up and it didn't really effect us at all.

Is the room layout the same? Yes, the standard (non-suite) rooms at All-Stars are the same inside.

But do you mean is the building layout the same? No -- you'd want to check out the Music map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmusicmap.htm

Note that Calypso buildings 1 and 10 are preferred locations, with a higher charge per night for reserving that room type.

Handicap rooms at Music are different and in different locations at Music so I would not request a specific room number. Look at the All Star Music room layout and request a certain building instead. If you put a specific room number and someone is in that room from an earlier booking it will be discounted anyway so better to ask for building, floor, etc.

Thanks for the info. I will look working out what building is best. I'm not paying for preferred. I don't mind a little walking but just don't want to be adding a long journey on to the end of the day when I'll already be tired from the parks. I will definitely be asking for a top floor room as well.
