Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

During what time of day are you seeing the shared buses? At peak periods, say for example first thing in the morning, they will run dedicated buses. At other points in the day they will switch to shared buses.

So far the entire day they are not running designated buses. Leaving Epcot near closing last night the line for the All Star Resorts wrapped around for a long ways. It was probably 10 times as long as any of the other lines, however they were running quite a few buses. Sunday evening was when I was seeing the buses too full to even pick people up at the resorts. I was hoping it was a fluke but so far our experience has been entirely shared buses.

Most of the time the buses are dedicated. The only time you will have a shared bus is during off peak times. Generally, you only share in the middle of the day or if you are going to DTD. Always remember, most resorts either share with others or have multiple stops.

To have a crazy long line at park closing is the norm. However, the buses come one after the other.

We are staying here the end of sept in a family suite. Since those are pretty much in a preferred location, I don't have any additional room requests. And since this is our first visit, I thought it might be good to go through the "normal" check in procedure. However, I've heard that when you do online check in they ask for your approximate arrival time... Is this to try & have a room ready when you get there? I'm planning to check in about 10am, and figured we'd head to MK and our room would be ready & waiting for us after dinner... But if it's ready right away, that would be best... If we do online check in is there a better chance of it being ready early? I know, no guarantees!

Arriving early October...hoping I will be able to get ground floor request.

Also, a question: is all Calypso building preferred? Or is it just the one in front of the pool?

Both buildings of Calypso, and all rooms in both buildings, are preferred.

Is the only way to get a coffee maker in the room to bring/ship one? Are there any coffee maker swaps like there used to be for fridges ?

No requests can be made for them ? :confused3

For standard rooms, there's no availability to request one. Family suites at All-Star Music do have coffee makers.

I'm not aware of any coffee makers swaps -- there may be.

Looks like I am going with out one. :scared1:
I will have an RFID mug, but with the construction it scares me because I am not sure how easily I will be able to fill for our morning jump start.
Thanks for the help.

Looks to me like disney is trying here. Doesn't bother us a bit. But that's because we don't plan on eating at the resort at all. I know some people do, so maybe the food truck will be a nice addition to the grab and go for them.

Just trying to stay positive with about 50 days to go !

We just returned home this week, we stayed at POR but 2 of the families in our group stayed at Music and we visited them on 2 occasions in the afternoons to visit by the pool. The temporary food court is a great set up. I wouldn't eat lunch or supper at a value cafeteria but for morning pastries, toast, snacks, fruits, drinks, etc, they had a great setup. Don't worry everyone who has trips to stay there in the near future.

As for the bus service, can't speak for that personally because we used POR bus services but nobody in the group staying there ever complained this week.

Little help, Music-Lovers?

I am planning a Dec. trip w/ just my mom, me and my 7yo. Trying to look into a room request to meet all our needs. My mom doesn't have mobility issues or anything but at the end of a 10 hour park day she probably won't relish the idea of having to walk all the way to the opposite end of the resort.

We have only stayed in Pop before so I don't have a feel for the layout or distance on the Mus map. Any suggestions for a decently quiet (absolute silence is not an issue for us), relatively close building request? I am thinking Jazz or Broadway may be best for us. For those seasoned Value-visitors, how do the distances from those building compare to, say, 50's at Pop?

Hoping with the food court closure the resort will be all around a little more peaceful than usual, and maybe requests will be easier to honor?

Any other can't miss tips or hints for this resort? I'm honestly more than a little bummed (no offense to music fans) that we didn't get Pop or Movies, my first 2 choices. :/ It doesn't seem like Music is the resort that many people would say is their absolute favorite. Is it just an overlooked jewel?

ncbunnie - I actually like Music the best of the Values. I think Broadway and Rock would be your best bet for a quiet, but not too far away room.

I hope it helps to know when we first started going to Disney Movies and Pop were our favorite choices. We thought why would anyone want to stay at Music or Sports since they just didn't appeal to us. Forward wind several years and we decided to try Music and Sports since they were all that was available and now they are our favorite resorts and first choices when going to Disney. I hope you have the same reaction.

I think I am correct, but would like to know for sure. We booked a standard family suite, so we would be in Jazz Inn, correct? I know that Calypso buildings are preferred & also have some family suites in them.

Customized our MBs this morning! :cool1:
