Disneymoon ~ Where did/are you staying?

We stayed 7 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, then 4 nights on the Wonder. For us, even though it was our honeymoon, we didn't want to spend the extra money for a deluxe resort, since we are hardly there. We like to be on the go and really don't make much use of the resort amenities, so I guess it depends for everyone. But we love Riverside, stayed there for our engagement trip as well, always in Magnolia Bend, the mansion section.

We spent out honeymoon at POFQ for the same reason. :)

We are staying at SSR. We actually preferred to be farther away from the hustle and bustle of the other hotels. I think it will be a nice, relaxing addition to our Disneymoon!

We stayed at the GF for our HM. We always wanted to stay there and could never justify spending the money until it was our HM. But we would never stay there again- we enjoy the BC or BW much more.

We are also bringing children. Staying at the BoardWalk Villas. My daughters will be 21 & 14 so they will have their own studio. Going during Epcot Wine & Food Fest!!!

We've got:
2 nights in an off-site villa when we first arrive
5 nights at the Boardwalk on DVC points
5 nights at POR
12 nights at the off-site villa

We wanted to stay at BWV as we fell in love with the area, hence getting married at SBP and couldn't have done it without the DVC points. It has cost us less than 1/3 of the standard view studio rack price for a preferred villa.

We are staying at POR with the money my grandparents left us when they died. My grandad loved the USA and Disney so it was a really fitting tribute to them, and somewhere we've always wanted to stay. He always reckoned he was the first person through the gates at the MK when it opened as he loved it that much :goodvibes

We are DVC members too (UK ones) and will be spending 3 weeks at our home resort of Saratoga Springs.

We could have stayed at the new Bay Lake Towers but that would have meant being in a studio for 3 weeks when i can have a 1 bed apartment at Saratoga and i love Saratoga so that won it for me.

Plus my H2B's family (mum, dad, 2 x sisters, their partners and 2 nieces) are coming out to stay with us at Saratoga for the last 2 weeks of our honeymoon and we all wanted to be in the same resort... i think it's going to be a really special time, cant wait for it now!

My husband and I are having a delayed Honeymoon (we got married in January, but my mom was ill so we put off our HM) We are doing a split stay, we are DVC owners, so we are doing the first 2 nights at VWL, and then Moving to AKV for 7 nights. I think a split stay is a good way to go, especially if you want a little deluxe, but now for the whole time.

The week before the wedding I stayed in a Grand Villa @ BWV and my DH stayed at BWI. The wedding night was spent at GF club level and then we spent the first 4 nights of the HM in Disney at CBR. (We then flew out to a ski resort for 2 weeks- which we considered our "real HM")

We chose CBR b/c of the price, location, proximity to our "home" the BW, and simply b/c we didn't plan on spending a ton of time in the room. Had I known I would get sick the day after the wedding (which turned into pneumonia later during the HM) and be trapped in the room at CBR for the majority of the time we would've sprung for a Villa at one of the DVC resorts. Our CBR room was just so small and I had nowhere to go but the bed and when you're sick- it's always nice to have a couch to lay on.

If you're not planning on spending a lot of time at your resort-- than a moderate is fine, but if you are-- I would go Deluxe. HTH!

Money is tight for us this year so we went with the package at a value resort. We are staying at All Star Sports, with the dinning plan and 6 day hoppers. we are going from Jan 3rd *my b-day* until the 11th. AS Sports holds a special place in our hearts becuase that is where I was staying when we met and where we had our first kiss. We were married at the WP at noon on the 5th and had our reception at the California Grill. We are going to try and replicate that. I am also thinking of surprising him with a replica of the top layer of our wedding cake becuase I dont feel like dragging it down there! We are going to splurge on the KTTK tour which will be nice!

Oh my! Everyone has so many great suggestions!:thumbsup2 We are not sure if we will be spending alot of time in our hotel either:confused3 as we love to be out and about. CR is very much our style as we love all things futuristic and modern!:goodvibes

We're starting off at the Beach Club Villas and moving to the AKL the day of the wedding. Those are definitely our two favorite places to stay. And now that the AKL expanded and added that wonderful new restaurant (seriously, try the cornish game hen, it's even in our wedding menu) I love it even more. We had a group of zebras staring at us throughout our meal last time. We're not planning on spending much time in the hotel, but I love the feeling you get coming back there everyday. However, even though I've never been one for modern, the CR certainly has transportation pluses!

I just bought 200 points at BLT through DVC, so planning to stay with my DF and his parents the week of the wedding at BW in a 1 bdrm, then we leave on a 4 day Disney Cruise...then back to Dis for 3 glorious days at our home resort, BLT. I am also trying to decide whether I can fit it in the budget to stay at GF OOP for the night before and the night of our wedding...it's the great debate right now...I wont know until much closer to the date.

Although as my DF said this weekend when I bought the DVC membership and started obsessively planning "These plans are subject to change right up until they're booked" - he knows me well - I have about 8 different scenarios we COULD end up going with :rotfl:

We will be staying at the Yacht Club. :) The big reason we're staying there is because it's where the ceremony is, and the reception is right next door at Ariel's, but it's also like my third home, so I'm glad we'll be able to start our life together there. :)

I love Beach Club Villas! We are hoping to get into AKL when we come back 6 months after our wedding. For our wedding we are staying at Old Key West.

We are staying at BC/BCV for our 10 wedding trip with my family. We love Beach Club and never stay anywhere else!

But, for our honeymoon we are going on a 7 night Disney Cruise, and then we are staying at POFQ for 2 nights after. It will be Easter weekend, so Beach Club was a little out of our price limit, and it will be nice to see what other hotels are like. :lovestruc

we are doing a split stay! AKV Jambo house the few days before the wedding and wedding night... the we're moving to BWV for the honeymoon! YAY!
