Disneyland Summer Crowds?

Pete commented that Disneyland is crowed Thursday through Sunday year round because it is a "locals park."

What are the crowds like on a Monday through Wednesday in the Summer (say June or July)?

I am contemplating a trip out West this summer as an alternative to Florida heat.

I am thinking of hitting some non-Disney sites on the weekend and Disneyland mid week.

You should be fine. The crowds will pick up some, due to schools being out, but not bad. Also, only Premium passholders can get in on Saturdays, so that limits a lot of AP holders from coming in that day. It's really noticeable in the morning.

Also, us locals are wimpy - we like to sleep in, come to the park late, and like air conditioning in the really hot times, so that brings down crowds, too. Most folks out here would melt with Florida humidity!

Just plan smart, take advantage of the early morning entry, if you are staying on propery at a Disney hotel, and you'll be fine!

My daughter usually gets out of school in very early June and if we decide to go, we will literally go in that first to second week. We might run into a little May/June gloom (weather pattern), but the parks are pretty quiet, especially given that we usually go Monday to Thursday. I love Disneyland at that time of year. Warm days, but cool evenings! Gotta love it!

Be careful with the second week of June--World of Color opens at California Adventure on June 11.
