I'm doing something a little different. I'm not posting one of my own photos. Instead, I'm going to quote/share a photo that ended up on the last page of the previous POTD thread, from DIS'er
deejdigsdis (who is not on the DIS much these days)...
I was afraid that her photo got overlooked because it was posted right before that thread was closed.
I think this is a fantastic photo - and it supports what you all were discussing a while back, which is that a great photo doesn't necessarily have to come from the most expensive camera. This is a Point & Shoot picture, and it tells a story and makes an impact. I always say that same thing too - a great photo mostly comes from your imagination, creativity and having an eye or a vision for what would make an interesting shot. The equipment just helps to execute that vision a little better.
What I love about this particular shot from deejdigsdis above is that it evokes a certain mood or feeling. First of all, it's different. It is not the typical POTD-type of
Disneyland Resort shot we see, and it is very specific to her trip. But there is almost a certain wistfulness, innocence and nostalgia about it, while it also captures a child's pure joy of being at the Happiest Place on Earth.
