Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

We always go to space mtn first!! Always!
I have only gone before rope drop once and it was last February for rise, but we didn't get on rides right away so I have never been the first group of the day. I'm kinda hoping to be the first party for at least one ride!

It would be Indy for us...or Pirates! We usually decide while running walking through Adventureland ;)
Definitely a nice run/walk lol. I have thought about being in an indie car without party by ourselves..... I'm hoping that's what they mean by capacity on indoor rides lol

I'm confused.. IF the California only stays through negotiations....how will they deal with Downtown Disney? It has no restrictions and anyone can go, form anywhere. Would people going to DL be asked to NOT go to DTD? They will end up mingling, which would make a residence thing pointless to try and stop the virus. And if the only open up the hotel to 35% will this eeven make enough money to be open? That doesn't seem to help the surrounding area?

Just questions.

My favorite ride would be Pirates or Small world.

That's a REALLY good question, and I'm hoping that in the coming weeks as they refine the guidelines this gets addressed because you're absolutely right, what's the point if someone from out of state can walk up to the entrance gates but not go inside either of the parks?

Don't try to make sense of it. And don't ask for the science behind it. You'll be much happier that way.

People are much less likely to travel from out of state for Downtown Disney than they would be for the parks. They’re trying to discourage out of state visitors for now - I expect this to change as vaccinations become more widespread.

Downtown Disney does have capacity limits

We are not expecting a surge of new cases until mid April about two weeks into red tier. The interesting question will if a surge does occur, will a subsequent surge of hospitalizations follow? Thats the real endpoint that matters.

If we see that.. .will really be interesting to see capacity limits lifted if health care system won't be overwhelmed.

I mean that's an easy answer. They're trying to discourage out of state visitors and very very few people would fly across the country to have lunch at Tortilla Jo's or shop at World of Disney so that's a non-issue while millions would do so to attend the parks themselves.

Either way I think this isn't going to matter for long. These vaccines are incredible and this is going to be completely behind us much sooner than people realize.

You HAVE to try rope drop at least once!! We get SO much done!! Usually 3-4 rides on space mountain without a wait!

I'm going to hold my breath. Sunday's numbers aren't always the best to use. But, it is looking better. In the past they have used Friday to Friday. I'm going to see what I can find for this week!!

Our 7 day rolling average is below 7 per 100k as of Saturday's numbers. It's been steadily coming down for weeks.

Just out of curiosity, why are they expecting a surge in mid April?
