Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Where did you see that?

I'm seeing 15% Red
25% Orange
35% Yellow

Where did you see this? I'm trying to find the new guidelines but the website still has the old ones!

When can the out of staters come?! Still so happy though, yay!!!!

I saw it in the Variety article.

It appears the CA residents rule is in place as long as we are operating under the colored tier blueprint.

I'm a bit concerned about the limits on indoor rides because It's vague, but I'm staying hopeful

Does any other state have a restriction on out-of-state guests for theme parks? I don't recall New York stating one when they announced their April 9 theme park reopening date.

Not that I'm aware of. This is still pretty ridiculous, IMO. It's a step in the right direction but still seems to target theme parks unfairly. They can't even have indoor dining in the red tier yet indoor dining is allowed for other businesses in that tier? Indoor rides are only allowed if they undergo some type of capacity/time limit calculation? Sigh. I know this is good news, but it's not the 'yahoo!' leaping in the air I was hoping for.

But I am happy to see all the CMs get back to work and that you lovely CA folks will get to go, you deserve it! :)

Yeah, I've seen it reported several different ways from no indoor rides to limits in indoor rides (15% capacity) and higher capacity limits on outdoor rides.

I'm guessing the longer the ride is the less favorable it will be that it gets to open? So that would probably mean Haunted Mansion and Pirates would be more at risk from not being allowed to open vs. shorter rides like Space Mountain or Peter Pan?

Hopefully as time goes on they loosen restrictions on out of state residents. The rules keep changing so maybe they’ll take that away and increase capacity

I can't see the in-state restriction holding. That would be the first one the theme parks would throw out in any honest negotiation. They can deal with the capacity restrictions, but the money is made from guests staying at the resort.

I'm not advocating to keep the in state requirement by any means but with a state as large and populous as California, Disney will have no trouble at all filling onsite hotels (especially at reduced capacity) with in state guests for several months. There are even true locals (like within an hours driving distance) who stay on site regularly.

No out-of-state restrictions, but they do have quarantine and testing requirements that CA does not.

I really hope so! I'm going to be heartbroken if they keep that long term. Seeing Disneyland open and not being allowed in is just torture lol!

There’s still time to move to California! I’m sure someone these boards will happily write you a lease rent you their couch for $1:ssst:

I wonder how they will handle tickets. Hoping for park reservation guarantee with onsite stay.

I hope this too, otherwise there would be literally no point to book on-site and folks would just cancel reservations if they didn’t win the future ticket lottery.

also new prediction...that this thread will hit 750 pages before the parks reopen!

I can see ride capacity mirror park capacity to KIS on guidance and enforcement. 1 party per cart initially and spacing with capacity when >25% hits.

Saddened that I prematurely let go both May 8 and 15th VGC dates and only kept Memorial weekend - oh well.

I like this, and I hope this is how it goes
