I think so. The rules for are basically the same for DS and DTD despite being in different states. Now one thing to watch for as DTD adds more openings is the crowd levels. I’ve been hearing that DS has been crowded lately. Granted it’s much larger than DTD but still. I’m not sure if more places open will draw a larger crowd.Does anyone think that DLR is doing what WDW did when they did a phased opening of Disney Springs for a month or more and then opened the parks, or is that a stretch for DLR? Watching the extra locations and business open at DTD is definitely following a schedule of opening in phases.
One thing to keep in mind is the parks opening (right now) are not in Disney’s hands. The state of California is not allowing theme parks to open. I am pretty sure in Florida theme parks were allowed to open when Disney opened Disney Springs but chose to keep the parks closed.Does anyone think that DLR is doing what WDW did when they did a phased opening of Disney Springs for a month or more and then opened the parks, or is that a stretch for DLR? I definitely don't consider CA an all day park. I don't think I have ever spent more than half a day there. Maybe 3/4?We specifically asked a security CM about this and he said that masks needed to be on at all times in DTD unless you were eating/drinking while being stationary. Where is the mask relaxation zone supposed to be? Thanks!
That is interesting because I think a lot of people do not consider DCA an all day park. I know we struggle to find things to do there if we do not have park hopper tickets. We usually end up leaving early. Curious what the DLR will do about this![]()

The parks could reopen for shopping and outdoor dining at the moment with some entertainment mixed in. Knotts did this last weekend and it was nice, obviously I would love for everything to be open, but it was a nice compromise for the meanwhile. One thing to keep in mind is the parks opening (right now) are not in Disney’s hands. This is the challenge for the dining establishments. Without indoor seating, they are going to be challenged to achieve enough volume to be profitable if DTD continues to limit amount of foot traffic via cars arriving.I think so. Looked at this. An interesting concept. Say if DLR opens only outdoor dining and shopping. That will open a lot of space outdoors and allow revenue,.merch and eating opportunities. The parks could reopen for shopping and outdoor dining at the moment with some entertainment mixed in. Yes, technically maybe. But that is NOT what most mean by the parks being open. I also think they would need to do more than just open the stores and a few key restaurants to make it a draw. If they had open DCA for the Food & Wine Fest with a few shops open then it might be feasible. And more comparable to what Knotts did.The parks could reopen for shopping and outdoor dining at the moment with some entertainment mixed in. Exactly. Say open DCA to paradise pier bridge and the swings and carsland off. On DL side to the castle and populate the hub a few more carts and dolewhip. That'll be a lot of space and opportunity for lots of folk to come. If not enough interest for paid...can pull AP lever for free entry. That'll drive traffic easilyYes, technically maybe. The only time I've spent all day at DCA was when a friend came without a park hopper. It's fun, but I am much more attached to DL.I definitely don't consider CA an all day park. I don't think I have ever spent more than half a day there. Maybe 3/4?
