Disneyland Paris Questions

I may be going solo to DLP for one day later this month and have a couple of questions that will help me out.

1. I have a recently expired (Jan 1, 2011) GAC from Disneyland California as well as a doctor's note stating my issues, concerns and needs. Will I be able to get a GAC at Disneyland Paris without much hassle? I don't want to spend too much of my only day dealing with this.

2. I have a valid disability placard from the US (Illinois), will this work the same way as in the US? Does their Placards look the same as our and be obvious to them what it is?

Thanks in advace!

Sorry, I don't know the answer to either or your questions, but just wanted to say that I went solo for four days and had a wonderful time. I tried using some of my high school French with limited success.

As far as I know, a US parking placard does not work for parking anywhere in Europe. It may however be useful to prove disability, but I think you'd need to check with Disney about that since most US placards don't have photos and/or names on them.

There are a couple posters around here familiar with DLP (I'm not) so hopefully one of them will see this post soon and have more information.

hey there,
im not sure what a GAC is so cant help you there however if you take your doctors note to city hall (its on your left when you enter the disneyland park under the train stationafter goign through the gates which are under the Disneyland hotel) they should be able to help get you a disabilitys pass (which i am assuming is what a GAC is sorry if i am wrong =/ )

as for the disability place card, i assume thats a card you leave in the car when you are out and about to show you are disabled? over here (in the UK anyway) disability cards are blue, are badges and have a name and photograph on, but i would get in touch with DLRP and ask them about using yours, since they have plenty of international vistors i dont think it will be a problem i would think they would know what they are, but to be safe contact disney...

with a bit of luck you will be able to get away with doing that as someone on here will be able to properly answer your questions.... i personally have never travelled with a disabled person, so what i know is just what i have picked up over time...

Here is the page from the official Disneyland Paris website. http://us.visit.disneylandparis.com/disabled-visitors/index.xhtml#contentj

You will need a doctor's note or official proof of disability in order to get a "blue card" at the resort. Sadly, they do not accept north american parking placards as proof. Even if your doctor's note is in english, you'll be fine. Also, Disneyland Paris give you a break on tickets and for that, you need to head to Guest Relations, which is outside Disneyland Paris park, on the right. Go as far out on the right and when you see the doors leading to the Disneyland Hotel lobby, you're in the right direction and nearly there.

Walt Disney Studios is nearly all accessible and thus, you won't get any priority access there. At Crush Coaster, you will wait in the main line until you make it inside and before the stairs leading to the boarding station, you'll go through a gate and board the turtle shells there. At Tower of Terror, they will send you to the right library. That one doesn't have stairs in the boiler room.
