Hello all,

Our party of 5 is booked on a 3-Night for our anniversary Oct 1. Wanted to do something short so the eldest didn't miss much school. But paying 3k for 3 nights I began thinking we could tour Paris and visit Disneyland there for that price. We fly for free...

I'm torn because with DCL we could have alone time while the girls are in the kids clubs, dine at Remy, etc. Having never been to the parks, I'm guessing there's no service as such. Also, I read the park is being refurbished throughout 2016.

Thoughts?

I have been blessed enough to experience both, and I would have to vote for the cruise. We have enjoyed Disneyland and Disney World and spent a day at Disneyland Paris. To me, Disneyland Paris was the most beautiful of all three. Even with that, and the fact that Paris is my favorite city in the world, I would still do the cruise in Oct. We are spending a few days in Paris this June before our cruise, and we will be enjoying another day at Disneyland Paris, all of which we are very excited about. All of this requires so much work and planning, as well as nonstop days of doing all there is to do. On the cruise you have time to relax. You have time to do as little or as much as you choose to. You can have time together as a family or alone as a couple. There are amazing restaurants in Paris, but Remy is an incredible restaurant with views that are unmatched as you sail between ports. You would not make a bad decision with either one, but for an amazing family vacation that is fun and relaxing for everyone DCL cannot be beat! My only other comment would be the longer cruise, the better for more time to relax and enjoy your options.

Enjoy your trip!

Thank you! You were spot on in referencing relaxation. It would probably stress me out trying to do the park with the ages of our girls.

If you do decide to visit DLP you might find a much better deal on the UK site. We booked a two night stay for our family and got two free nights, which included 5 day hoppers for each of us and free breakfast

DLP is currently going through a massive refurbishment program. A lot of attractions are closed. All is going to be beautiful for the 25th anniversary in April 2017. Before that I would not recommend a first time visitor to go there. After April 2017 however it will be quite wonderful again!

Exactly - I am French and I visit frequently the resort; I think it is a great resort but right now you have works everywhere and it is very disruptive and unpleasant.
If you have a choice, go next year - everything will be brand new !

I think the cruise would be more relaxing especially if you only have 3 days. I also have been to DLP and on the cruise so I can confidently say going to Paris for 3 days would be quite the challenge with flying, making plans for hotel, tickets, meals and touring the park. I would be exhausted!!!

We would have extended the travels to account for flying, and a rest day upon arrival, but nothing compares to the ease of ship life.

Thank you all for your input :flower1:

If you can take your time for Paris it is best - if you never visited before I would suggest a 5 day trip + ideally 2 days for Disneyland Paris.

Happy to provide suggestions if you want (I am from Paris)

Well you are asking on the DCL thread so most of the answers will be DCL. If you ask on the Disneyland Paris thread I'm sure most of the answers will be Disneyland Paris. Since you asked here I'm guessing you are leaning towards DCL that's why you asked here instead of the Disneyland Paris thread. Do what is right for you. Enjoy

Been to both and even though Paris is my favorite city in the world I would cruise :)
